Horrible. From the moment I opened the tube I knew it was going to be awful. I read that this is a tubing mascara which in my experience a tubing mascara TENDS to be a relatively wet formula such that when it dries it forms tubes that encapsulate your lashes. This mascara was a dried out mess. It looked clumpy and thick, and this was a brand new tube that took some effort to open, meaning, it was sealed well enough that it shouldn’t have been like this. I still tested it out, wanting to give it a fair chance and it barely even coated my lashes with something that looked more like a feathery dusting of product than anything else. Also, it is NOT a tubing formula. I had to use an eye makeup remover to get it off, including the smudging that occurred from rubbing my cleansing oil on it. Will I repurchase? Absolutely not. Would I recommend? Well, if you like a barely there mascara give it a go, but I would recommend spending your money elsewhere, even though it is quite affordable.

Nothing special, my search for the perfect mascara has been going on for years, unfortunately, will have to continue the search.

This mascara doesn’t make my lashes look unbelievably great, but my lashes also don’t look half bad either with it on. For the price, it’s a decent mascara, allows me to have a more natural lash look during the day. I don’t have issues with it smudging like some have mentioned. The formula seems drier than other formulas I’ve tried. I probably would repurchase again, just because the price is right and I don’t have any issues with the formula. I do want to try some of the other essence mascaras, as I think there are some better reviews on those and for the price, I won’t regret buying them even if they don’t work out.

No extension. Dissapointed….

This mascara does give you length but smudges everywhere and is very clumpy wouldn’t recommend at all…to be honest all of essence mascaras smudge on me …cheap but not worth it

Mascara is such a personal thing. I am shocked to see the lower rating on this as it is my personal HG. I love it bc it doesn’t flake or smudge which is a deal breaker for me with mascara. Also it is super quick and easy to apply which is also very important to me bc I have to get my makeup on fast. The effect it gives is soft, feathery and volumized. Does not provide much length. I think it’s a gorgeous mascara and the price is unbeatable at 4.99.

Someone posted about this and their lashes looked great. I bought it without checking the reviews here first. Bad idea. Bought it at Ulta and know it wasn’t old, however, right away, this applied kinda clumpy. I have had success with thinner brushes, like in this mascara before, but it didn’t work well with this formula and opening of the tube – it sometimes applied product in blobs (opening didn’t remove enough product). This also began drying out really fast, and within a month or so, this applied REALLY lumpy. I can’t say I was ever successful in building the type of volume I wanted: unless I used something separating underneath, this made my lashes clump together. Overall, I didn’t enjoy using this mascara at all and it was constantly abandoned in favor of something else

I like the volume that gives me. It doesn’t make the lashes longer but gives volume at the base of the eyelashes and they look pretty good. The only thing that I don’t like about the mascara is that it is a little bit difficult to remove it.

This is one of the many recommendations from Tati that I find extremely disappointing. I guess I have nothing in common with that woman, and recently I have began to dislike her channel because of the shameless way in which she plugs her vitamins and the overly dramatic, cutsey way in which she expresses herself. It`s cute when you`re 12-16, but for a grown woman it`s just undignified somehow. This mascara is just okay for me. I mean, it`s a rich black, it doesn`t smudge and it separates lashes pretty well. It`s also fairly cheap. But I am looking for a lot more in my mascaras. I`ve started using this Essence mascara, just after finishing off a dried up tube of Bourjois mascara. Even that dried up old tube of Bourjois mascara gave me more drama and volume than a brand new tube of this. I would call this a more natural look, I don`t see anything that even remotely resembles extensions here. I have a pretty good set of lashes which don`t need curling, so it`s possible this mascara may work better for someone with short, straight lashes? Who knows, but I see plenty of negative reviews on here that make me think a lot of people just simply don`t like this mascara. The tube is all right, imo, but as the other reviewers have said, the end of that wand does get pretty dirty with gobs, which I end up wiping off and wasting product. Would not repurchase.
UPDATE: It`s all dried up in less than a month. What a joke.

This is the last Essence mascara I will buy, all mascaras from Essence I have tried in past, including this one, smudge on me. It does not do anything special for my eyelashes, it looks really natural (I do not use an eyelash curler on a daily basis)
The packaging is too big not only for travel but also to store.
It retails for 3.79 € in Spain for a 12 ml tube.
