I have very peculiar lashes so this review might not apply to everyone.
My lashes are very straight, some of which curl inwards. I have to spend about 5 minutes curling them and making them look normal – unfortunately the only type of mascara that doesnt uncurl them is waterproof – water based mascaras uncurl them just like water would uncurl normal styled hair.
Now that we got that out of the way, onto the mascara:
Its not true waterproof, it will uncurl your lashes – this is the first time a mascara claiming to be WP has done this to me, as a result I’ve docked one lippie. It also seems to fade somewhat throughout the day – it doesn’t flake it just… disappears. Minus another lippe.
It also does absolutely nothing in terms of lengthening or volume – it will look like your tinted your lashes. It looks extremely natural which is a lovely effect for a natural no MU look, although it wont be anywhere near enough for night time.
It acually looks very much like the Clinique mascara that was released for lower lashes, the thin plastic wand also makes it easy to get at those small bottom lashes.
I will continue to use it for my bottom lashes but I will not repurchase after it runs out.

For some time I have been searching for the perfect waterproof mascara. One that really delivered on its promises — went on easily, looked great, didn’t smudge, clump or flake, long-lasting and not too hard to remove.
After a frustrating experience with the MF 2000 Calorie Waterproof Mascara, I wasn’t sure about trying another MF product, but the reviews on here and the product’s reasonable price led me to give it a chance.
It went on easily, dried quickly, didn’t smudge or flake and held up for a long time. The applicator is especially good for lower lashes. It also added some curl. BUT it didn’t do much in the way of volume. On a whim, I also bought a tube of Artdeco Perfect Volume Waterproof Mascara. I applied this to my upper lashes on top of a coat of this MF mascara and voila! The exact look I’d been trying to get for years.
I’d tried a variety of brands at all price ranges — YSL, Helena Rubenstein, Armani, Clinique, Cover Girl, Chanel, Lancome, Dolce & Gabbana — but nothing comes close to the look and wear I can get with this MF/Artdeco. Plus, both products are easy on sensitive eyes. And neither flakes, so they’re good for contact lens wearers.

I have tired MANY mascara’s. A few from the range’s of YSL, Dior, Lancome, Clarins, Shiseido, MAC, Clinique, Lauder, Givenchy, Bobbi Brown, as well as Mabeline, Rimmel, etc. I have also tried many from Max Factor because of all of the reviews.
I do not want the ‘doll’ look of thick, fake looking lashes. I find them to be really ugly. So if that is what you want, do not bother buying this. If you are like me and want beautiful, natural, long (depending on how you apply it) lashes, than this is the only one that I would recommend.
What really annoys me, is that it is getting harder and harder to find. PLEASE Max Factor…….do not stop making this!

Let’s see….
This is my second tube and by far this mascara has won over my heart.
Just to clearify: I have impossibly thin and fair lashes that either get clumpy or messy with most mascaras.
This is perfect for the type of lashes mentioned above: non-messy application, EXTENTION and great lasting time.
But be down-to-earth, it doesn’t have the same effect as false lashes. It gives natural-lookng defined look.
Still, just like all MF mascaras: safe choice 😀

Like the other MFs, this stays on well. It’s a more natural look than my usual Stretch and Separate. First time opened it didn’t do much but it thickened (and improved) after a few uses. Great for lower lashes and pretty good for daytime. Would need a few coats to give any volume for evening and I couldn’t be bothered!
Verdict: I’d buy it again, but only if I couldn’t get Stretch and Separate. If you like a natural look, give this a try. If you use MF 2000 calorie, you probably won’t like this because it doesn’t give that volume.

Last time I needed a new mascara, I read lots of reviews around as I didn’t want to use a lot of money on a product I can’t use for more than 3-4 months. Usually, Clinique High Impact (Curling, sometimes) Mascara is my bestfriend, but now I find it too expensive (ironic since this mascare costs almost exacly the same)..
When I saw pictures of the result with this mascare I thought it looked great, with one layer and more layers. But when I tried it for the first time it was horrific. Clumpy, long, weird lashes (3 layers). Now, after the mascara has dried up a bit, it has turned on to be my favourite! Long lashes (they looks MUCH better than with Lancome l’extreme)! The curl lasts all day long, and it doesn’t smudge. It is very, very easy to remove.
I use to have short lashes, today I love my looooong, beautiful, curled lashes! Recommended!!

I live in a relatively wet environment and I’m always looking for a good waterproof mascara that doesn’t clump, flake or smear and that would actually be waterproof so I wouldn’t look like a panda after walking in the rain/snow.
This I think is it. It doesn’t go anywhere from my lashes and it dries very quickly which is important to me because I wear glasses and I need my lashes dry fast to put my glasses on and go.
I love that it leaves natural lashes but if you’re looking for something dramatic, this isn’t it. It holds curl well, better then anything else I’ve used.
For me it comes off easily, I use Neutrogena oil-free makeup remover and it just slides off.
I will definitely repurchase.
EDIT: Well. Okay after giving this a decent try (as in using it daily for about three weeks), I have to say this is not the best option for sensitive eyes. Too bad 🙁 My eyes were really uncomfortable and slightly burning but I thought it’s my eyeliner so I kept switching eyeliners. But as soon as I tried out Bourjois mascara for sensitive eyes, the burning stopped. So this mascara burns my eyes. Drat!

This is one of the few mascaras I’ve actually made a repeat purchase of. I’ve had about 4 tubes of this, all in waterproof black or brown, and I love it. The brush is great for defining and lengthening – it gives a bit of volume, but not much of a curl. It also allows you to put multiple coats on without it going clumpy. It’s not going to give you a particularly bold night-time look, but it gives a good “enhanced natural lashes” kind of look.

It goes great if you’re looking for a natural look with some brown eyeliner underneath. It gives my lashes lovely length. The price is okay for the quality and the packaging is elegant and slick. It doesn’t really make my eyes ‘pop’ much at all though.
