I seem to be in the minority here but my experience with this mascara was not good.
I ordered two of these online-1 black and 1 brown. When they arrived the brown mascara was very nearly dried out completely.
The black looked on the dry side but that isn’t unusual for tubing mascara.
On the plus side the colours are very good-quite deep and impressive.
On the minus side the black (having tossed out the brown) flaked every time I used it. And not just late in the day-immediately and continuously. When I removed it there were little particles all over my cheekbones and lids and in my eyes and, most uncomfortably, under my contact lenses.
This is not a cheap mascara.
But to be brutal-to me it was crap.

Edit: I really wanted to love this, but it drives me crazy with how much it smudges. It’s really sad, because I like the idea of this mascara, and how it makes my lashes look.
I love a lot of things about this mascara. It’s a little different to use, but it gives a real wow effect to your lashes. Since it’s more natural and contains waxes and such, the formula is slightly thicker and need to be worked into the lashes a bit more. Once you go back for the second coat it feels a little bit like the formula has already dried, but without any clumping and crumbling as a result. You also need to swirl the brush around in the tube before you apply it to get the brush properly coated with product. (In fact, there’s a video of how to best apply the mascara on the brand’s youtube channel, look it up if you feel like it doesn’t apply the way you want.) When you’re done applying it, you will have thick, well seperated and long lashes. It’s definitely an “everything” type of mascara, which I love. I do feel a bit like a goddess wearing it, actually. It washes off extremely easy – in fact it’s the only mascara I’ve used that you can wash away with warm water alone, but still it won’t run during the day. I have a suspicion that it won’t hold up for watching really sad movies or anything, but for everyday use I don’t think it’ll be a problem.
What it does do, and what keeps me from naming it my holy grail and swear my loyalty to it forever, is that it smudges on me a bit. I’ve noticed that if I set the area around my eye with powder thoroughly it will smudge minimally, almost to the point where I’m okay with it. If I don’t however, it smudges a lot more than I’m comfortable with. On the browbone where my lashes touch the skin, and under the eye a bit. Just the other day I was in a hurry and didn’t set my undereye concealer well enough, and I had some smudges already after an hour that my friend had to point out for me.
To sum things up:
+ A natural mascara that’s nice to both your eyes and your lashes
+ The hourglass shaped brush makes it easier to get all the lashes evenly coated
+ Makes your lashes look absolutely amazing
+ Cruelty free!
+ Stylish, sleek packaging that’s easy to seal well to make sure the formula doesn’t dry out
+ Hopefully (this is me guessing) it’ll last longer than some mascaras, since it’s not a wet formula as much as waxy one
– Smudges on me (though I have oily eyelids)
– Quite pricey. Depending on how long it’ll last me, it could either be worth it or entirely too expensive

I have been looking around for a little while now trying to find a better, more natural alternative to my mascara that I have been wearing, and have now finally found one!
This eye of horus mascara is SO GOOD. I’ve only brought it today but I’m already impressed. As I have little lashes I find it so hard for mascaras to curl my eyes but this is amazing for it! The mascara dries quickly and goes on so well, no clumping, no flaking what so ever. If you feel your lashes after putting it on, you notice a difference. As this has maringa oil in it, the lashes actually feel smooth compared to normal mascara which you can often pick off.
The packaging isn’t the flashest, both the box or the tube it comes in. And I was really skeptical on the brush as it’s silicone and much prefer the normal brush you get in mascaras.. but in the end, I was so surprised when I was putting the mascara on because with the brushes design, it actually got none on my lower eye lid which is such a common thing. (for me anyway haha)
As I got this on special I’m not too sure the exact original price would be but from remembrance it’s not so cheap.. My local health food shop stocks this brand and its around $40-45 but I can say it is worth it.
I have been looking for a while for a mascara that does not irritate my eyes and feels as good as this one does when I put it on with only one layer. I also feel that it makes my lashes healthier from the natural waxes and oil in it.
I would highly recommend this to anyone to use 🙂

I bought this mascara on a whim. It has a good brush and it makes my lashes very long, think and black, but I need to be careful so that my lashes don’t look…crumbly, if that makes sense. It does smudge my eyelid a little and the mascara flakes a little, but not enough for it to be a deal breaker.

This is an amazing mascara and definitely new HG! My makeup artist for my wedding used it on me and I was very impressed. It doesn’t flake or smudge and I have very smudge prone eyes and normally I am unable to wear any mascara on my bottom lashes. It is also meant to be waterproof and while I haven’t gone swimming in it, it is definitely sweat proof and tear proof (wedding with no running mascara!). But it isn’t your typical waterproof mascara, which is crunchy and hard to remove. It removes like a fibre or film mascara in that it only needs warm water and light rubbing to remove. I dislike the idea of rubbing my lashes with my fingers but It comes off in the shower extremely easily, I just wet my face and smother my usual cleanser all over and once the shower water has washed it all off… every trace of mascara is gone too. This mascara is also an intense black shade. I’ve had previous mascaras that I thought were pretty black but damn this one takes the cake. The darkness really helps to make your lashes stand out. It also holds a curl, leaves lashes soft and lengthens and volumises. I’ve really been into thick luscious lashes lately and while this doesn’t quite give that dramatic effect – it still looks really nice. It also has an impressive and gentle ingredient list, which claims to nourish lashes with moringa oil. I’ve definitely lost less lashes whilst using this – does it actually nourish? Who knows. At the very least it is a gentle mascara. I will warn – if you apply too many coats in quick succession it will clump.

Wonderful mascara with an amazing brush – curved, full bristled and the bristles imitate your own lashes and seem to pick them up one by one and coat them. A one coat wonder but it’s a fab mascara one of my faves!

This is my new HG mascara! It is very pricey for a mascara, NZ$44, but it’s worth it. The last few mascaras I bought and used irritated my eyes so much. The website states this mascara is good for sensitive eyes and that is very true. The formula is very black, creamy and easy to apply and the brush is amazing, I ALWAYS smudge my bottom lashes but this brush makes it so easy I haven’t smudged them once! Very buildable too to get volume, and there is no clumps! And this stuff last ALL day, I’ve never had a mascara that stayed put this long. It doesn’t flake off and doesn’t make your lashes stiff. It removes very easy too. Sleek black and gold packaging. I just can’t rave enough about this mascara, it is worth the extra you pay because the quality is A+. I am definitely going to check out the eyeliner as well.
