This is my second review for this mascara. Initially, I was completely underwhelmed by it, as it gave no volume whatsoever and was mediocre at best. The best thing I could say about it was that it`s really black. But I do have a set of good lashes, so who knows what this mascara might do for small, straight Asian lashes, maybe it works to add volume to those, but for a Caucasian woman, this didn`t do a whole lot besides adding color. Anyway, I was loath to toss it away, so I tried it for my lower lashes, and lo, and behold, if this is not THE BEST damn lower lash mascara I have ever tried! I mean, I have very, very sensitive eyes that tear up and water constantly, especially when I apply my makeup in the morning, so by the time I arrive at work I have to remove the smudges of mascara from lower lashes. Not with this DUP mascara! And I mean, now we`re talking pollen, peak allergy season in Japan, but the mascara still works great. I would definitely repurchase for this, as I`ve never had such a budge proof mascara in my life.

This is a Japanese drug store mascara that seems to be widely available in Japanese stores in the US. Due to currency exchange rates and shipping costs, it retails for about $20. It is a perfectly fine mascara but no better than an American drug store mascara costing less than half the price. On a visit to Japan I bought mascara from the Kate line and that was really excellent, as good as my Dior and Chanel and I thought this mascara might be as good. Not so.
