This Dr. Mascara worked SO WELL holding the curl after curling my lashes: however, I could not remove it with my usual serious WP mascara removers: Cover Girl, Neutragena ,Almay, coconut oil, etc. This product beads up and is rubbery and impossible to remove, IMHO–totally stuck on and I don’t want to lose lashes.. OK. It was excellent to apply to curled lashes to hold the curl before mascara which is what I did. I admit that!! However, that is NOT what the company recommends: it specifies that this is to be applied over mascara to waterproof it…THAT. Anyway, maybe take notice of this for you gals who also could not remove it after apply it to bare lashes….please don’t do that like I did. Best to you. Full lashes to you all!

I searched high & low and eventually found this little miracle worker.
My lashes are absolutely stick-straight and actually grow downward, covering my eyes. With hooded lids, I essentially don’t appear to have lashes at all. Curling is necessary – but between the natural growth direction & pressure from upper lids, the curve was doomed from the minute I released the eyelash curler.
Enter this fixer: it’s basically liquid concrete. One light swipe & my lashes were rigid. The curl lasts all day!
Removal takes some care – be gentle to prevent losing lashes & coat with a conditioner such as coconut oil or jojoba.

This has answered my lifelong mascara problem. Yay at 39 I found it. I FOUND IT. Dirt cheap on Amazon prime. Stick straight transparent lashes that are invisible like the Mona Lisa. But, I have an oily lid and I like my under eye area to be moist and non powdery or I look like a fossil. But even powdered, waterproof or tubing mascara smudges raccoon marks. I started regular mascara use at 13. So for 26 years I wiped away smudges all. day. long. Idk how I came across this miracle product, but it makes ANY mascara into perfect mascara that holds a curl ALL DAY with nary a smudge even with straight OIL under my eyes (oils and heavy moisture erase fine line appearance with their emollience). SOME powders I may use in inner corner of eye to set concealer (hourglass ambient in diffused; Becca brightening under eye powder; guerlain meteorites; NEVER Laura Mercier which is the best selling of all time or sumthin – ewwwwwwwww adds 90 years ETA just discovered Charlotte Tilbury pressed & loose powders and will never use anything else again as long as I live). But the raccoon smudges happen at outer corner where a crows foot forms.
Here’s the failsafe method (have Dr Fixer and mascara of choice open and ready – this is rapid fire): curl (I use the shiseido curler. Had for years and shu umera had a replacement pad problem IIRC. Shiseido replacement pads are cheap and plentiful on amazon). Immediately after curl, apply Dr Fixer. It is clear. Do not let dry — put the mascara on right away, however many coats you like. Do not let dry — another layer of Dr Fixer right away. Let all that dry. It may take a couple minutes.
The pic I’m posting is a weird way I used this today. I desperately wanted blue mascara but couldn’t find my HG buxom or “they’re real” maybe it was I forget. Maybe a benefit. Must delve into the MAC colored mascaras. So I had 4 things open at the ready: Dr Fixer, a white mascara base coat, blue gel eyeliner, & blue eyeshadow. I curled, then did the following one immediately after – no wait time: Fixer->white base->blue eyeliner (not as challenging as you’d think)->blue eyeshadow->Fixer. It was not as bright blue as I wanted at all, but satisfied me enough til I try a mini MAC in blue. I also applied on bottom lashes which I do not normally do, for somewhere I read any woman over 35 shouldn’t place ANYTHING on bottom (save brightening products). Lashes certainly were the beefiest they’ve looked in a while, and sure as shite held that curl. I also am reverting to bottom lash application cuz I like my long (for me) invisible bottom lashes.
A major caveat that I didn’t remove a star for since this has solved a 26-year problem: removal. Impossible with anything. Oils, removers, micellar waters, my HG Clinique balm. Except one thing that will burn the bejeezus outta your eye when it inevitably gets in: Heroine Make mascara remover. It looks like mascara in a pale blue tube with a white top, but the “brush” is a teeny comb. Covered in some thick jookie that takes most of the stuff off. Is it terpentine?!? It doesn’t really matter that just *most* is removed, as after cleansing and my retin a for aging has set 30 minutes, I moisturize the crud out of my whole face, all over eye area, and occlude with Vaseline. I literally take my post retinoid moisture just flat out over closed eyes all over the place. By am – any darkness is gone, and i do a mild pH balanced milky cleanser before am skincare anyhow. If I solved one person’s similar thorn in side dilemma before 26 years go by, I will consider my life’ work complete ????.

In my search to replace the discontinued Shiseido mascara base, I tried this. This is worse than nothing for me. It literally took all the curl out of my just curled lashes. Tried it over and under mascara. Same disgusting results either way. At least it’s very cheap. If I had spent $25 which was about the price of the Shiseido, I would be livid.

I think this is meant to be a mascara topper, but I use it as a primer. It’s so effective at making my stick straight Asian lashes hold their curl, and adds some extra length and volume so that any mascara I apply on top looks better. I don’t find this any more difficult to remove than any other waterproof mascara, so I just remove with an oil cleanser or bi-phase eye makeup remover. One tube lasts awhile – about 5 months of daily use, and they’re fairly cheap to get off Amazon if you live in the US. The first time I bought it, it was off Amazon four about $7, and then I repurchased it in Japan at an Etude House boutique for about the same amount. Super reasonable price and REALLY effective product!

How come no one mention that this primer is impossible to remove?!
It does length & curl pretty well, but it also dry down like sement!!!
If you have sensitive under eye area, or looking for a hassle free formula skip this one.
The amount of cotton swabs, waterproof makeup remover and oil base cleanser it takes to remove is absolutely insane…
My lashes almost come off in the process and become burn and irritate. The next day I can still see and feel residue.
I find that Loreal primer works just as well if not better and it’s so easy to remove.
A Big no no for me! 🙁

I guess this is meant to wear under mascara but I have always used it over my wet mascara and great results. It takes clumps out and waterproofs. I really love it!! I bought mine on eBay from a Korean location.

I love this! Living in a super warm and humid area, coupled with watery eyes and oily skin, it is impossible to wear mascara without it smudging under my eyes by evening. Until now! I usually apply one coat to each eye, and then my usual non-waterproof mascara. The mascara then stays on for one full work day (10 hours!) until I take it off at night – without smudging. Pretty impressive, especially given the low price. Will highly recommend!

On my first use, it held curl amazingly well. I have ridiculously straight and short lashes that don’t show at all if they’re not curled. And so many mascaras have just made them drop almost immediately.
This item is going to be an everyday item for me. I used it today to waterproof my mascara and had a short swim with DH. It actually worked. Curl stayed mostly intact and i did not have any smearing.
If you have absolutely wimpy lashes that lose a curl right after you put mascara on, get this. I got it for $9.99 on Amazon with prime shipping. The only thing I noticed is that it seems to work better with wetter mascaras because it dries quickly and drier ones were not the easiest to brush through. I can overlook that because the results are worth it.
I recommend removing it with an oil because regular eye makeup remover will not be enough. I first used Bliss Lid + lash makeup remover but i still saw white on my lashes. I went after it with argan oil which did the trick. Overall highly recommend this product for lashes that frankly suck like mine do.

I got this at the recommendation of saaammage on YouTube, she’s my GIRL and I trust her to deliver. She demonstrated it on someone, and showed that it can hold a curl no matter what mascara you put on top of it, waterproof or not. This review is coming from an Asian girl with lashes that not only cannot hold a curl, but grow downwards. So I really need to defy all sorts of gravity.
*Price: So cheap. Like $7 CAD? How can you go wrong? The shipping from Etude House was next to nothing, too.
*Packaging: I have this in the new packaging. Not the cutest. I also feel like it’s full of air, which is a little concerning? I’ve heard other girls say they’ve gotten bad tubes where there was no product and it was all air. It’s also entirely in Korean so I can’t read a damn thing on the back.
*Product: A miracle! It’s a white/clear gel. Dries at the same speed a normal mascara would.
*Positives: It works. That’s the bottom line. You curl your lashes, put it on, wait for it to dry, then put on any mascara over top, and the curl will hold. I use this with my TF Better Than Sex Mascara and it brings my lashes to their full potential (which isn’t that great, but you gotta work with what you got). I’ve heard that putting a waterproof mascara over it will really make it COMPLETELY waterproof (because we all know waterproof mascaras do get a little funky in the water) but I’ve never tried that.
*Negatives: Since it’s clear, you can’t really tell if you’ve coated every single lash. If you don’t completely coat every single lash, once you put your non-waterproof mascara over it, it’ll just uncurl and be sad looking. I suppose the clear colour is good for girls who just want the curl and don’t want to put a mascara over, to give the illusion of naturally curly lashes. Also, it’ll make your lashes crunchy and stiff, and if you don’t comb them out before it finishes drying, they’ll dry in whatever clumpy position you left them in. Another thing to note is that I’ve heard it’s difficult to take off. I don’t feel that, personally, but I only use coconut oil or Bioderma for my eye makeup, both of which takes absolutely EVERYTHING off. **EDIT** I have sensitive eyes and sometimes it seems “strong” and makes my eyes water a little. But that goes away very quickly.
I would say this is a staple for any girls with difficult, straight lashes. It’s not that much of an extra step in the morning and does wonders. The downsides are insignificant compared to the results you’ll get. No more sad lashes! No more weak curls! You’ll finally be able to use non-waterproof mascaras, too. I knew I’d like this right away and I purchased 3 tubes the first time I got it. I don’t use it every single day (I wear falsies a lot) but when I do I don’t feel insecure about my own lashes anymore.
