True Fiction is based out of Vancouver, B.C. and “is all about lashes, lips, liners, lacquers and little luxuries”. It’s a small line that takes up maybe a 2 foot wide black display section on the wall.
I stumbled across this new little makeup line at my local grocery store (Save On Foods) in Canada. At the time it was all on sale so I picked up this little gem (for $8.99) because it looked so similar to my MAC 217. Let me just say that they are like long lost twins! If I were blindfolded, I could not tell them apart. The look of the bristles, shape, feel, softness, ‘snap’ and performance are identical! One can never have too many blending brushes so having a backup is never a bad thing (and I’ve since picked up another for $12.99 less 20% for SaveOn members so it’s worth having a Save On card if you don’t already own one).
Not sure if this makes a difference but my MAC #217 is one of the older ones made in Japan. (Are they still made in Japan). Either way, I am super impressed!
The rest of the line doesn’t really bowl me over yet (there may still be a couple gems hiding in the lot) but for this “217 twin”, it’s worth scoping the line out.
