I had been wondering about this set for a long time, but not bought it because I for some reason thought the brushes were made with natural hair, which my skin doesn’t tolerate well (because it’s sensitive to scratching and basically all animal fur). They are not real hair – woohoo!
The two brushes in here are the:
– Multitasker Brush, which is a dense, dome-shaped brush, which is usually used to either blend out liquid foundation or cream products. I find this to be very similar in performance to the It Cosmetics Airbrush Blurring Foundation Brush #101 (slightly smaller and slightly flattened), which I have. To be honest, the price of the It C. brush is pretty steep ($24), and if I had bought the Japonesque set, the Multitasker Brush would’ve been enough for me. As I don’t really use cream products, this brush is something I use with really thin liquid foundations, which just get absorbed if I use a beauty blender. Example: Cover FX Custom Cover Drops or NYX Professional
– Go To Brush, which is a kinda small, really wispy, fluffy brush. For me, this is PERFECT for blush! If you are one of those people that feel like your blush ends up covering half of your face and looks kinda intense, this brush is worth trying out! My face is pretty small, and a standard-sized brush (MAC, Sigma, ELF, etc) is hard to use precisely enough to get a good blush placement. On top of that, I have relatively light skin (NC25 right now), and many of the blushes I have can look quite intense because most of the brushes I have are too dense, in my opinion. With the Go To Brush, I can work precisely and build up color gradually – very easy to achieve a diffused effect with this one
Both of the brushes are soft enough to not bother my sensitive skin at all. I think both of the brushes are good, but I kinda wish they would be sold separately too. I bought mine at Ulta, during a 20% off sale. There is often a buy 1 get 1 50% off-sale on the Japonesque brush sets, so I would recommend to wait for one of those two (and sometimes they coincide) occasions to buy.
