The Noble Carnation scent = top notes of carnation and black currant. middle notes of spicy marigold, clove and violet leaf. base notes of sandalwood, cedarwood and Oriental musk. Be aware that this hand cream is very strongly scented. If you’re sensitive to smells or prefer something light that won’t compete with your perfume, then this probably isn’t for you.
While Royal Apothic’s hand creams certainly aren’t priced as highly as some other hand creams, $23 for 3.3oz is still somewhat steep.
I wish I’d have kept the box because I can’t find the ingredients listed anywhere online. This thick white hand cream is quite moisturizing. My hands feel nourished and never greasy, as this product sinks into the skin quickly. I enjoyed this while it lasted but won’t repurchase because there are less expensive hand creams that work just as well and smell equally good.

I was always hesitant to try hand creams.. wouldn’t even bring myself to spend $8 or so on the lower end ones I saw at drugstores. Then one day while shopping at Antrhopologie, I came across a Royal Apothic display. I started smelling the fragrances, which were all flower themed. I smelled “Noble Carnation” and it instantly reminded me of a very pleasantly familiar scent which I couldn’t quite place my finger on. I checked the price tag on the hand cream and cringed ($22) but decided to go for it as the scent won me over.
Once I got home and opened it, this product did not disappoint. The packaging is beautiful and high quality, from the box it comes in to the tube. The tube is the typical metal tube that you commonly find hand creams in. It comes with one of those little tube squeezers… not sure of the technical term for it but that’s really handy and ensures that you can squeeze every last bit out of the tube. You are paying a high price and don’t want any amount to go to waste. The hand cream itself is white but very moisturizing and absorbs into the skin quickly. I am usually not a big fan of floral scents, but this one is lovely and I get compliments on how I smell when I’m using it.
Oh yeah and when I made it home I was able to pinpoint the scent… it smells like the Glade summer collection they came out with that featured a cotton candy fragrance “Something Sweet”… entirely random that the two would smell so similarly but the way that candle and air freshener smelled, I wished that it would come in a perfume/lotion.
I would not repurchase this again simply because of the price (I have realized that spending $8 on a hand cream is not that bad compared to spending three times that amount, especially considering how long a tube lasts.)
