Does what it says but is awfully thick and greasy and takes forever to absorb. Heads up: the body version of this product is also the exact same ingredients for a way better deal per oz.
Edit: The scent also becomes unbearable and nauseating over time, so there’s that 🙁

A great, rich hydrating cream that takes a while to absorb, but once it finally does it doesn’t leave a residue or film. Has a very nice pleasant scent that doesn’t linger too long. Quite pricey for hand cream ($12 CAD at SDM) but goes on sale often. Overall it’s good & I’d repurchase.

I just finished a 30mL size of this, which lasted me from February/March until now. Formula wise, I found it to be a very good hand cream if you have dry hands (which I do, especially in the winter). it’s very thick and takes awhile to absorb, which not everyone will like. In the winter, it was a god send when my hands were cracking, and now, even in the late spring/summer, it kept my hands very soft. The only reason I wouldn’t buy this again is because the scent is very heavy and very cloying. I wouldn’t mind it in the winter, because the cream/vanilla scent is comforting, but in the hot weather, it can feel a little nasueating to have it on my hands all day. I would stick to something lighter once the weather warms up, but in the winter, I liked this.

I love this cream. Give it a minute to absorb. The smell is light – a rich vanilla. Good ingredient list. Great brand.

This is sticky, tacky, and feels so horrid plus it has a slightly sugary sweet scent but it’s off. I couldn’t even wear this more than 5 minutes. I threw the entire tube out after a single use.
Now the backstory: I have been hearing a little buzz lately over the Cake Beauty products so it was with delight that I found this 1 fl. oz sample tube in my Ipsy glambag for December. The packaging on this is so cute with the name like Cake you think dessert for my body, right? This features a little dairy pitcher on the front with a 20% symbol and it has the words aloe butter and buerre de karite surrounding it, plus the word CREAM is in large plain font so it sounds like something wholesome and healthy for your hands. Being almost winter here and with the cooler drier air and drier skin, I was excited to give this a try. This is in a convenient squeeze tube and the lotion is very thick so it squeezes out in a ribbon or rope of product and it’s very dense. The first thing I noticed was the sweet scent which is like a cheap lotion cocoa butter scent with a sugary sweet odor. The same as that cheap off brand cocoa butter cream I used to buy when I was 12 because it was cheap and had a pretty package. This isn’t a good sweet scent like cotton candy or spun sugar or toasted sugar though, it’s more like cake icing but with a more greasy smell. I didn’t care for the smell as it wasn’t a good scent and I disliked the feel so much that I had to remove this within minutes as it was heavy and greasy and it made my hands sticky and tacky. It didn’t rub in completely and I couldn’t deal with the tacky sticky feeling so I had to wash it off and I tossed this in the trash immediately. I didn’t see any point in giving it a second chance. This was simply just YUCK! I am glad I didn’t buy into the hype and buy a full size of this disappointing hand cream. I can’t say how the rest of their products are, but with this disappointing sample I am not interested in anything else from the company. I did find this on their website and right now it is being sold in a gift set called Hand Cream Heroes which has this in a 3.4 oz. size tube and another lotion called Velveteen Hand Crème and they retail for 40.00, but appear to be on sale for 29.00 currently. As my mom used to say, I wouldn’t give a wooden nickle for this.

I managed to get this at a very reasonable price at Costco. I am so glad I bought it because it’s probably one of the best hand creams I have ever used.
Very rich and thick consistency and a delicious smell of cake make cozy “right before bed” hand cream that was a part of my evening routine for a while. Because it is quite heavy I did not like to use it when I am about to do stuff with my hands so right before bed was perfect!
I’ve tried it on my feet as well and it works just as good on dry skin anywhere.
If you have very dry skin on your hands or simply want a hand cream that smells delicious- you should give this a try!

I just bought this hand cream and I love it already. I love Cake beauty (no-nonsensical chemicals and it’s a Canadian Brand!) and the moment I saw this hand cream I had to pick it up. I’ve got super dry hands anyway and my eczema is just exacerbated by that and I was searching for a hand cream that would deeply nourish my hands without feeling greasy.
The 20% shea butter claims plus the price (2 for the price of 1 at Costco!) lured me in. As soon as I got home I squeezed the hand cream out of the tube noticed it’s got a thick texture, it’s not runny and thin. The hand cream is as thick and rich as the packaging says. A small line will do for both hands.
The smell is very pleasant. It’s delicious vanilla buttercream scent. It’s not cloying at all which is my greatest fear when it comes to vanilla scents (Cake’s sister brand Be Delectable has a vanilla & cream line that smells like rotten play-doh so I was afraid the hand cream was going to smell bad too, but it doesn’t at all).
This hand cream is just lovely. I am really glad I bought it.

Super heavy duty cream that is highly moisturizing. This is probably the single most nourishing cream I’ve used apart form pure cocoa butter itself!
It has a decadent texture and scent, because it’s so thick, it is hard to squeeze out, feels almost like a body butter. I find it easier to apply if your hands are warm, the product melts on contact- however it is greasy the first few minutes you have it on. Not recommended to use at the office, I’ve tried typing on my keyboard or holding a pen after applying this cream and it was very messy, left oily marks all over my desk.
I would use this at night, even as a foot cream, that’s how intensely rich it is.

I’ve sampled this rich, gorgeously scented hand cream many times when at Sephora. As someone who washes her hands frequently and who lives in Canada (with our cold, harsh, drying winters), I am always on the lookout for good, replenishing and soothing hand creams and so I’d often treat myself to a blob of Heavy Cream but I didn’t purchase because I’ve got a lot of other hand creams I need to finish up. But then I discovered that Costco is now carrying this cream and a 2-pack costs about the same as a single tube at Sephora so I purchased 2 packs (one for me and one for my daughter). This is a thick, rich cream but, surprisingly, it is not as greasy as you might expect and it soaks in fairly quickly. The smell is delicious – sort of like cake or cookie batter that’s been richly laced with vanilla. Because it’s so thick, though, it can be hard squeezing the hand cream out of the tube. I like the tube packaging but wish the hole were a bit larger. Check your local Costco, Canadian girls (not sure if this is available in the US – no Cake Beauty products are shown on Sephora’s US site), check your local Costco to see if they have this. I think I’m going to get a few more to give as gifts.
