The Lano line has been a godsend for me. I have tried countless other hand creams, and while I liked many, I never loved them like I now love Lano. I stayed away because of lanolin being the top ingredient. Since it comes from the oil in sheep’s wool, I had this thought in my head that no matter how clean and scientific the process of getting the lanolin off the wool would be, that if I used a lotion with lanolin I’d be smelling weird wet animal smells, like I’d petted a bunch of wet dogs. I was wrong. This stuff is amazing. If I would insert a “Hallelujah!” gif here, I would.
This stuff is a thicker cream, and if I use a little to spot-treat or apply to cuticles, or a little more to moisturize hands, it soaks in wonderfully. It’s like the creaminess gets drunk in and what’s left are moisturized hands and a velvety, non-greasy softness. I’d been dealing with uncomfortable dry hands from frequent washings using perfumed liquid soaps at the office, which caused dry and painful patches of skin that eventually cracked, split and hurt like hell. This (and the smaller tubes of the hand cream) are the only things that have helped. Plus the smell is nice. It’s subtle and mild. I can’t describe it, but it’s almost neutral to me. (Nothing fruity, nothing excessively floral or citrusy, nothing candy-like or musklike … it’s just a bit of, well, scent.)
This is one of the few products I use often (and used up) and I’ve gone back to purchase more of. It’s not going to be everybody’s cup of tea — some will find it too thick or too hard to spread — but for me it’s amazing. It’s even worth the higher price (to me) since I’m using it up! (And if you’ve never tried it before, next time you’re at Ulta or wherever it’s sold, consider testing it. I did, and … my hands say hallelujah!) (It’s also good in other places, but I love it most for hands.)
