This olive oil based hand cream meant to restore softness after frequent hand washing is from their “Cucina” line which focuses on scented kitchen products such as soap and detergents.
There are about 5 herb-y kitchen inspired scents in the permanent line-up, and in my opinion the Orange and Fennel is the most easy on the nose (not that any of them are overpowering and obnoxious like walking into a Lush or Sage store is) in the case you are giving this as a hostess gift. The scent stays on your hand but lightly and it does not waft.
The texture of the cream is slightly thick and substantial, as one should expect from a cream that should be “regenerating”. Most importantly for me is that it’s not greasy at all and absorbs quickly, despite the fact that olive oil is impressively the second ingredient(and not some kind of cheaper filler ingredient). It seems to be emulsified really well. You can feel a light layer of it coating your hands, but that’s a good thing since that means the cream is remains on the hands acting as a barrier to seal in moisture. It’s not as tenacious as something like Glysomed or Norwegian formula, but it works quite well and I consider it a more affordable perfumed hand cream that I can actually rely on to moisturize and protect my hands.
The regular product comes with 150ml for ~16 CAD in a nice looking refillable glass bottle with a pump, and there’s also a refill pouch you can buy for a better value at 250ml for a dollar less than the bottle. It’s not really meant to be portable, but you can easily refill it into a reusable travel squeeze tube. The brand often does sales as well.
I have repurchased when on sale, but if I had no more other lotions and it wasn’t on sale I would still buy it. I think these also make great gifts as well because they don’t smell and feel cheap at all. This is unrelated to the product, but I also like to support this brand because they are Canadian based out of Quebec (even though The Face Shop now owns them) and I do think that they are somewhat overlooked for bath and body products in Canada.
