While staying in Vegas decided to visit Chanel store and got this foundation.. love it for my sensitive skin evens out skin tone no powder needed at all and lasted all day on me! It’s on the expensive side of foundations however with it comes the name brand..

I should have known when I swatched this on my hand and it dried in one second that there would be blending issues. Applying with fingers, as the leaflet instructs, was a chalky, streaky mess. It took some experimenting. A matte sunscreen was a huge no. Fingers a huge no. A brush I could not even imagine. Applying a cream concealer to a tiny age freckle OVER the foundation was impossible. It wouldn’t stick, or blend in, and looked very obviously like a splotch of concealer. After much experimenting, I found the best application was over exfoliated, heavily moisturized skin, topped with a low silicone primer, and applying concealer where needed BEFORE applying the foundation with a very slightly damp sponge. I had to use about 6 to 8 drops for my whole face, being a very liquid formula, the sponge absorbed a lot of it. I also used a little setting powder. Even then, I’m underwhelmed. It looks ok, very sheer with fairly decent coverage, and kind of matte…just somewhat dry on my normal skin. Wear time is good, it still looked the same after 8 hours. It kept the concealer under it set and in place. I believe any situation where you might get it wet, like in the rain or if you were sweating, would not be good. It’s almost as if it is thin, non-waterproof paint. I also noticed that it oxidizes slightly after a few hours, and I’ve several seen other reviews mention this. Definately get a lighter shade than what you think is right for you.
I will continue to experiment with different primers, moisturizers, and sunscreens, and maybe I will find a way to get that perfect foundation look everyone raves about – but as of right now, I think this would work and blend best on oily skin. Or very young, smooth skin. I do not get the hype from the over 40 crowd, and I definitely won’t repurchase. Too much work for too much money to make it look nice.
Edited to add:
I don’t know, maybe this is as good as people say. Yesterday I used it over a light moisturizer, then a tinted SPF (Australian Gold) and Elf Poreless Primer – I used the rounded bottom of an elf sponge (after applying my concealer) to quickly apply the foundation and then a little bit of It Cosmetics setting powder. It looked great. All day. Until I took it off that night. Smooth, slightly matte. No settling into lines. I didn’t need one touch up (with powder) for the entire 12 hours I wore it. I didn’t notice the oxidation I did with previous applications, could be I was using too much moisturizer the first several days I wore it. Usually after 5 or 6 hours, areas I conceal
(a small age spot on one cheek, a broken blood vessel) might need a touch up – but if I conceal first, and then gently sponge the foundation over the concealed areas, the foundation sets them and I don’t need to touch up the concealer later in the day. That part of it is pretty awesome.
I think one has to try this foundation with different products and figure out what works best with it on their individual skin. If I purchase again, I would definately go up one shade lighter….but I think maybe I DO like it enough to repurchase.

Pros: Great packaging, easy for travel, Very light on the face, natural finish (it’s not luminous). Can apply with fingers, no special tool needed (I don’t even use a primer). Does not accentuate pores or lines. Great for someone wanting to even out skin tone, like redness. Long lasting and not tacky, dries to a wonderful velvet finish and does not transfer. No finishing powder needed but maybe a light dusting to set under the eyes to last all day. I’ve combo skin with a T Zone that gets ugly after a few hours. This did not get shiney on me after 10 hrs.
Cons: Very perfumy. Finding a shade might be tricky for us med tones. It goes from light to dark fairly quickly.

Extra smooth, nice and beautiful finish. Doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin. Best purchase so far!!!

This is a great foundation. I’m surprised that this isn’t as well reviewed as Giorgio Armani and Christian Dior’s foundations (both of which I’ve used and loved).
The finish is FANTASTIC. I’ve always liked dewier foundations in the past but this satin finish is amazing. Your skin just glows while still looking natural. It’s your skin, with imperfections subtly but fully covered, but oh so much better.
I am NOT a fan of this trend (that seems to be dissipating thank goodness ) of people wearing thick, pancake like foundation and makeup that looks like they are attending a wedding or on a photo shoot. If you like complete opaque coverage this is not the foundation for you. I like to see skin and believe great foundations provide a translucent veil that makes your skin look perfected, smooth but still natural. This very expensive foundation accomplishes all that.
I don’t know why foundations have to be so expensive but if you’re going to pay $50+ for a mere 1 ounce of foundation, this should be one you consider.
Does not oxidize at all, lasts all day, easy to apply.
P.s. I’ve been loving the Bobbi Brown foundation brush (the full coverage one) over my Beauty Blender recently. I find I can use ALOT less foundation for the same coverage and it’s just easier to apply with a brush. I don’t need to wet the sponge, squeeze it out, etc.

This new foundation is one of the best I’ve EVER used, and I’ve been into makeup for 10 years.
My skin: combo. I prefer satin matte finish foundations, so this one is right up my alley!
– The consistency: extremely lightweight, moderately runny.
– Coverage: like in description- sheer to medium. Covers what’s supposed to do, evens out skin tone so, so beautifully!
– Finish: lovely satin finish.
The most important feature of this foundation: it literally looks invisible, blends into my skin so seamlessly that’s almost undetectable. I cannot rave about it enough!
It is also surprisingly long lasting and doesn’t wear off in ugly patches.
I set it with Guerlain’s Meteorites, and let me tell you- this is a miracle combo. My skin looks radiant without being dewy. LOVE IT.
I will so repurchase!
