Lifesaver of a product! I’ve got light skin that’s not really light, it’s yellowy lightly tanned skin tone. Yet, I’m still lighter than anything yellow toned that Rimmel “wake me up” and maybelline “fit me, dewy” offers.
Anyway, I always buy a foundation that’s too dark. But this lets my mum also use my foundation- she’s a shade darker. I usually add a 2-4 drops to my foundation (no, one won’t really cut it) and the color lightens but in a really organic and nice way.
Often the darker shade purchased tends to be orange on my skin, and the drop neutralise the orange suppper well.
Price was a bit steep for a tiny bottle, around $30 if I can recall, which is more pricy than my foundation, and smaller too. Then again i don’t really use foundation except on big events, so I’ve had my bottle for about 4 years now.

The texture is really nice, gives a nice satiny sheen without any sparkle. As long as I only use a little, too much does tend to enhance texture and sink into lines in my drier areas of my mature skin. Doesn’t reduce wear time for me, which is fantastic. The coverage lessens slightly, but not much.The dropper is unreliable, you can’t get the same amount everytime, I get nothing or too much, and, it doesn’t reach the last 20% in the bottom. Should be a pump. The size 15 ml is RIDICULOUSLY TINY. To lighten foundation enough for fair skin needs 5+ drops and I run out in just a few weeks. It should be the regular size of a foundation, ie 30 – 50 ml.
Great if you have cool-toned pink skin, as it is tinted a pale pink and changes the foundation not only lighter, but pinker as it removes the yellow. However, if you are very fair olive-yellow undertone, it can looks very pink with some foundations. Works best with olive or yellow foundations for me to retain just a hint of yellow. Overall a good product but needs more in the bottle to be cost effective.

Works well when used with most of my foundations, which are not oil-free for the most part. This is a densely pigmented pink-toned ivory colour that does work when mixed with foundations – most drugstore foundations’ lightest shades are too dark on me and this helps get it to match my skin tone far more closely. Even at a ratio of 2/3 foundation to 1/3 of this stuff, it doesn’t affect the overall finish of the foundation too much. My main gripe is the bottle – I like the idea of trying to reliably measure out this stuff drop by drop each day but after the first use, the pipette barely works as there is some stuff stuck inside it still and it’s so viscous that it’s too thick to properly redistribute itself within the bottle. Either I get no product out using the pipette, or I get a white foundation flood of Biblical proportions splattering all over my hand, knees, and the mirror. Either-or, no exceptions. I am somewhat impressed by just how bad the Body Shop’s dropper is, I feel it takes some effort to design something so spectacularly awful at performing the sole task required of it. Nowadays I just tip a little out the neck of the bottle and use it that way instead, it’s actually less messy than trying to use the dropper and having it paint bomb everything in the vicinity.
It isn’t the cheapest thing out there, but does effectively lighten foundations and blends well enough with silicone-based foundations, or those with oils in (like jojoba or sweet almond). I don’t think it would work for oil-free stuff. Compared to the Illamasqua white skin base, this works just as well but is less costly. It does make a whole lot of foundations more accessible to the palest of us out there, so this is a staple in my make-up drawer.

Good product. Works as intended- lightens foundations. It mixes in well with my foundations and doesn’t cause any textural issues with silicon based foundations. (I’m assuming this won’t work with water based ones). The big problem I have is with the packaging. The dropper is incredibly frustrating. Half the time it won’t pick up any product. It is also very runny so it is hard to get a consistent amount out of the dropper every time. It is very frustrating to work with. It did not cause any skin sensitivity or breakouts. I would repurchase only if the packaging was changed. Also, the body shop often has 40% off sales so you can get it for around 12 dollars so it can be an affordable option.

My first shade adjusting drops ever. Is it worth the money? Or are there more magical powers behind this white bottle that we have to experience yet? Let’s find out:
I had to buy a product which lightens my foundation and I needed it the same day I read that something like that exists.
Some blogs wrote positive reviews about this product and I looked no further. I catched the next train in the last minute. Went to the Body Shop, bought the white and brown shade (You never know which one you need someday, eh?). The way back home was also very stressful. But it was worth it. Or wasn’t it? Let’s start with the packaging.
The packaging looks nice, kind of luxurious but still subtle. No distracting symbols or unnecessary text.
But the drop applicator is the worst I’ve ever had. Yeah, works when you want to take some product, but it doesn’t spit it out! Therefore, I swipe it on a clean mixing palette or the back of my hand. A dispenser would work better.
The consistency tends to feel more watery than creamy which I prefer. It acts good as a mixing medium to lighten foundations. Pigmentation is good enough to lighten your foundation carefully, drop by drop.
Yet it can’t do wonders:
I tried to lighten Maybelline 24h foundation and had to use some more drops than usual. The result was a watery, awful textured foundation which I couldn’t use. Bear that in mind when trying to lighten a darker foundation (for example: You have a really fair skin tone and the foundation is meant for medium skin tones, then you won’t get a satisfying result.)
But why do I rate this 4 lipsticks? It’s a liquid version of NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk and much more versatile for oily skin types (But not the very oily types!) I like to use it as a highlighter, base for my eyeshadows or lipsticks, as a mixing medium or for ombre looks. I know, NYX Milk is a bit more pigmented, but creamy formulas are a nightmare for oily people. You can layer these Shade Adjusting Drops as you like and still have a good amount left in the bottle. I recommend setting it with a setting powder just to be sure it doesn’t melt off your face (powder = life saver for oily skin types).
PRO:

– a real, neutral white shade
– pigmentation is good
– buildable
NEUTRAL:
– glass bottle (no use of plastic, so it’s better for the environment)
CON:
– changes the consistency of foundation if you use more than a few drops
– the drop applicator doesn’t work well
– price (I bought it because I needed shade adjusting drops the same day, and I discovered that only the Body Shop in a shopping mall had such a product.)
If you’re willing to pay some more bucks and have no other options, go for this product. Otherwise, there are always some cheaper dupes all over the web.

This is a cool product and I’m surprised more companies aren’t making something similar. It does what it says – lightens and neutralizes yellow-based foundation. The price point is up there, but if you think of the amount of too-dark foundations in your graveyard that could be given new life, it’s worth it. The HUGE defect here is the packaging. If anyone from TBS is reading this – the dropper is terrible and doesn’t do its job. I squeeze it to suck more product into the dropper, but nothing. Mostly air comes out. I’m then getting my fingers involved to take product off of the dropper, which I don’t wanna have to do. I don’t know if the formula isn’t liquidy enough for this kind of method or of the dropper itself just isn’t good, but a squeeze bottle would work soooo much better. I’ve seen other reviews and the same thing has been mentioned, so I know I didn’t get a dud. Please change the bottle and you’ll have a good product!

I am very pale, and about 90% of foundations are too dark for me. I like the liquid consistency of these drops to lighten foundation without changing the consistency. The bottle lasts for a really long time too, as I generally only need 2-3 drops per use to get the foundation light enough to use. There’s a darkening version as well, which I think is great for people who can’t find good foundation matches at the opposite end of the spectrum. I already have a back up bottle, but I will continue to purchase this item.

Terrible product! First of all, the packaging is absolutely atrocious. The dropper is ridiculous. It does not suck up enough product and when you try to dispense the product it comes out in splatters so you can’t dispense the proper “drop” amount.
For the actual lightning function, yes it does lighten (it is white with a slightly pink tone). But as the amount is hard to control it was hard to be get the right shade and I felt like I was wasting foundation. I tried it with MAC face & body, Ex1, MUFE HD, and The Ordinary. It affected the finish of all of them. It seemed to make them all drier and they didn’t last as long/look as good for as they normally do. Especially with MUFE and EX1.

Dream product. Yes, it’s a little expensive but actually when you consider what a teeny-tiny amount is being used it lasts a very long time! I’ve used this all winter to colour-match a couple of foundations I bought in the summer (Clinique, Bourjois Healthy Mix) and it works well with all of them. There doesn’t seem to be any change in foundation consistency.
I pump one application of foundation onto a smooth plastic surface and add 1-2 drops of this, mix with a Q-tip and voila, beautifully colour-matched foundation.

Let me start by saying I’m a neutral undertone fair skinned girl so sometimes foundations are too pink or too yellow/orange. I got these to try out with my favourite high street foundation Bourjois, always slightly too yellow in the lightest shade. A couple of drops of this and it’s the perfect neutral!
The one thing that is ridiculous is the dropper, it’s mostly air that comes out of it for me, so I pulled out the inner part of the bottle opening to make it bigger and I picked up an oral syringe at the pharmacy (the kind for dispensing cough syrup etc to kids) and it works like a dream, no air and I can measure it way better when mixing.
