It’s extremely rare for me to give 1 lippie but this is a product that truly warrants it! Having oily/combination skin I figured a balancing cleanser (which this is touted as) would help things. I couldn’t have been further from the truth! In reality it doesn’t matter what a product claims to do, the only thing that one should EVER pay attention to is the ingredients list alone and nothing else. If I hadn’t been so drawn in by the SA’s glowing recommendations I would have paused to check the ingredients list myself – where I would have seen ‘SLS’ – a detergent so strong that most shampoos nowadays don’t even include it! Also ‘Chondrus Crispus extract’ – a highly acnegenic ingredient which I always try to avoid like the plague! But I didn’t and so the first time I used this, that very evening, my skin felt tight and uncomfortable the moment I’d washed it off and continued to for the next half hour until I applied a moisturizer. I’d used their toner immediately after as well so I wondered whether that had anything to do with it. The next morning I used it again but without a toner afterwards as I don’t usually use one in the morning, only at night. Same experience. That’s when I scanned the ingredients list and discovered the SLS. I don’t think I’ve ever in my life seen a cleanser with that ingredient – it does not and should not: belong in a face product! I totally get the attraction for those who use this and love how it strips their skin of all its oils temporarily, this cleanser must seem like a god-send, but you need to ask yourself at what expense to your skins’ health in the long run?

Have been using this cleanser for the last 6 years because its gentle and non-drying for my combination-dry skin type. My skin is also sensitive and can breakout with certain products, however my skin has never reacted to this product.

Used this facial wash since my university days. Product does a good job of cleansing my skin, removing all my makeup.
But I recently found out that the ‘tight’ and dry feeling it leaves behind isn’t good for the face over the long run. Why? The ‘tight’ feeling means your skin is dehydrated and lacks moisture. This causes aging lines and wrinkles. Further, your skin will seek to compensate the lack of moisture by producing even more oil.
So, I’m on a lookout for another facial wash. Will not recommend this to anyone at all, unless the person fancies premature or worsening aging lines and wrinkles, and a greasy face at the end of the day.
PRO:
– Thoroughly removes all makeup
CONS:
– Overly drying (even for people with oily skin)
– Loose cap opening causes spillage

This is the worst ever face wash for an acne prone skin. Although my skin is oily and acne prone, I had a pretty clear skin without any spots and pores. This product didn’t help me when I got acne and now my skin has lot of pores and spots that won’t go away.
I used this along with the cleanser and toner. I still have this product and won’t be using it ever again

I love this product. I shouldnt, because foaming cleansers usually do not agree with me. But i love it. It cleans my face bautifully. I use it in the morning and the feeling and scent help me wake up. Its gentle and does not dry my skin out. I use it in the shower or at the sink. I would buy it again and if you wait a bit it will go on sale.

I have combo oily skin and this cleanser DRY me out and not to mention it has this mint cool effect that i don’t prefer.
The first time I use it at day and it imm dry me out.
I try again at night (I don’t use make up this day) , it’s drying still.
But this always happen to me in GEL Cleanser (dry me out).
I have better luck in oil cleanser.

I like this facial cleanser. I tried it after finding myself breaking out more than usual. My skin has cleared up, but it isn’t too drying. I’ve tried TBS Tea Tree cleanser as well and found that was so incredibly drying, but this (combined with a heavier moisturiser) has been fine. I have extremely irritable and eczema prone skin so this was a pleasant surprise.
The scent is fresh and clean (although occasionally does remind me of a man’s cologne…) but I look forward to washing my face with this.

This cleanser left my face feeling tight after every use no matter how much I washed my face of it afterwards. The gel consistency is nice and it cleansed my face well without any irritation…I just don’t like that tightness to my face.

This has become my HG face wash. I have mostly oily skin that is quite reactive to changes in weather and products, and most face washes either dry my skin out and cause little bumps or don’t control oil well enough. This is one of the few face washes I’ve used that strikes a perfect balance for my skin in both winter and summer. The smell is nice and clean and not overwhelming. My only complaint is that I’ve noticed on each bottle that after a while, the cap stops closing up completely so it’s not the best design to travel with. Regardless, I keep on rebuying and I stock up whenever The Body Shop has the buy 3 get 3 sale on their web site.
I recommended this to my best friend and the first time she used it, she said her face had never felt so clean. She has also rebought it since!
