This is an interesting product – I wasn’t sure whether to put this under foundation, BB cream, tinted moisturizer. It’s intended to cover acne spots and even out skin tone, but it also contains some good acne treatment actives such as zinc gluconate, salicylic acid, and bakuchiol, as well as some really nice skin moisturizers like glycerin and xylitol. It’s also a 2-for-1 product – the tinted fluid is in the squeeze tube, and a green tinted spot cover crème is in the cap. It doesn’t have an spf, and Bioderma’s website indicates that “complementary cares” include their Photoderm AKN Mat spf30, so it’s meant to be worn over ss. The packaging is excellent, and while there is a slight fragrance and my skin HATES most fragrances, this didn’t seem to bother my skin at all. The fluid itself is like a liquid foundation. The coverage level is what I would call medium, not high, but to me high coverage is EL Doublewear Maximum Cover Camouflage cream, or the Dermablend cream in a pot.
This sadly comes in only one tint, called “universal.” My best color match is Maybelline Fitme Matte Poreless in Warm Nude 128, which is quite yellow, and I found this roughly the same darkness, maybe a wee bit darker, and more pinkish. It’s not so pink that I can’t wear it, but when I wear this in winter the effect is almost like I’m wearing a rosy bronzer type tinted moisturizer all over. I have to blend it down my neck more than I do for my usual Maybelline Warm Nude. This may not work for super pale folks, super dark folks, or people w/ very yellow or very olive tones.
What I really like about this is that the coverage seems to improve as it dries, and it actually smooths out my skin texture. I used to have decent skin texture, but a bad IPL left me w/ weird orange peel texture in some areas, some slight atrophic scarring that is reddish (PIE), and an odd perpetual inability for my skin to hold onto water, which gives my skin an easily dehydrated, finely crinkled texture despite being super oily and acne and rosacea prone. This is that RARE acne treating product that seems to plump fine dehydration lines while at the same time mattifying my excessive oil.
Also, the pigment in this seems to reflect light w/o being shiny – the effect is sort of a healthy glowing lit-from-within but matte look, and the coverage is in part due to the fact that the pigment tends to reflect light a bit rather than suck it in and make dark marks look darker, which has happened to me w/ some foundations. As far as the green cover crème in the lid, I’m not wild about it – but then I’ve never really gone for green concealers. It’s not bad, but again, I never really went for green concealers. Since the bad IPL left me w/ some permanent red marks, I did have to apply my trusty EL Doublewear Maximum Cover camouflage over this on only those marks (the EL is NOT the regular foundation on the glass bottle, it’s the super high cover stuff in the navy squeeze tube), but I was impressed w/ the finish and coverage of this product. Now if only Bioderma could also make it in a slightly lighter, more yellow tone! I also wish Bioderma would stop adding fragrance to its skincare in general.
Overall, though, this is an excellent product w/ some truly impressive ingredients, and it is that rare unicorn – a foundation that looks good but at the same time improves your skin, and it treats oiliness and acne w/o drying the skin. WELL worth the about $24 I spent to order this online. I highly recommend. Here’s the ings from the bioderma website:

EDIT: Note on the color – it def. is too dark and red/orangey for me most of the year, so this will not work on pale folks, plus if you use a lot of strong, R acne txs often like tret, it may be too much to use every day. I wish they made this in a lighter color and w/ at least spf30, so I could use it as an all-in-one product more often.
