   I have very fair and very sensitive skin. It has always been a challenge to find a foundation that fit my needs tor color, coverage, allergies, and price. I have used brands ranging from drugstore to makeuup artist driven lines to rather expensive designer brands. The playing field has gotten significantly larger with the addition of stores like Sephora and Ulta giving a showplace for smaller, up and coming lines. When I was a teenager, I was limited to Clinique and Prescrptives. One went out of business, one still has rather fuddy duddy colors, and Estee Lauder products were laden with fragrance. Well it seems like everyone is changing to meet the needs of a more sophisticated market educated by blogs and youtube videos. I came across an email ad for 20% off all Estee Laluder products purchased with that offer code online, so no testing was possible. The offering assured free shipping and returns, so I took a chance to try a $100 foundation for $80. The most expensive foundation I had ever purchased in the past was one from Ellis Faas, also with a coupon,, in the lightest shade available, and it was not particularly better than products for a quarter of the price. Estee Lauder has come a long way. This very elegantly packaged foundation is fragrance free, had an SPF15 using broad spectrum zinc oxide as the active ingredient, and had a silky, luxurious texture that applied easily. Two pumps of product applied with a foundation brush gave medium to full coverage that was radiant and flawless. My only concern was that I purchased the lightest cool shade available, Cool Bone, 1C1. The only other fair shade available was 1N1, and I was afraid that it would be too yellow. I thought my face may have appeared a tiny bit lighter than my body, but with winter back on its way, that may not be a problem. The color match was pretty darn close. I have mostly been wearing Bare MInerals Complexion Gel in Opal this summer for its chemical free SPF30 and beautiful, sheer coverage that was forgiving enough to work with my skintone, although, a shade cooler would have been a perfect match. For more formal use, I have the Bobbi Brown Skin foundations in the stick and liquid in the Ivory shade. This does seem to be a pretty perfect match to my skintone, but the formulas do not have the silkiness of this luxurious product. . So to sum up, if you have dry, mature or very sensitive skin, and can find a color match in this limited line, and can splurge on foundation – start looking for coupons and email offerings, because this is a very fine foundation!

   I in my lifetime have purchased quite a bundle of foundations. Estée Lauder Re Nutriv is by far the overall best. I purchased on line so I just tried my best to capture my shade. I am fair so I choose the lightest. Upon receiving the item I knew straight away it was a perfect match. The foundation is very rich yet goes on the skin like silk. I used a foundation brush Kevin Aucion foundation brush which is rather bulky but it covers fabulously. I used 2 squirts it was full coverage. My skin never looked so good. After applying a illuminator I use Hourglass and a blush my face looked like I had a facelift, no kidding my makeup never looked so good. It surely surprised me, I was delighted. Costly, yes but no regrets.

   I am constantly looking for a great natural looking hydrating foundation that works with sensitive skin. Let me stress that I have NEVER been an Estee Lauder fan…considered it to be aging, heavy and way too pink. I was definitely wrong with this product! This is a naturally dewy light weight excellent liquid foundation that does not disturb my finicky very sensitive skin. The only reason I didn’t give it a straight 5 review is that the warm tones still seem to have a very slight pink to them which isn’t a negative but unexpected for warm toned foundations. I realize Lauder is know for this. This foundation beats out Chanel (the never ending changing of the line is wearing), La Mer, Dior, YSL, Kanebo, and just about every other high end foundation I have tried. The texture would work for many age groups and all skin types except for possibly very oily. Great stuff!

   I got a few samples of this in Pale Almond. I’ve never really liked liquid foundation. Of the many I’ve tried I always end up with the same result. They fade, settle into eye lines or slide off my t-zone in a few hours. This one was the exception. The finish was gorgeous, not matte, not dewy, it has a radiance with dimension that doesn’t look flat or painted on. It lasted on my skin just about all day. Unfortunately, Pale Almond was just a tiny bit too light for my skin tone. There’s not a wide variety of shades and I made it work with a little bronzer over top but at $80 I’m going to pass. Laura Mercier mineral powder looks just as good at half the price and for me it’s easier to apply.

   When I read the leaflet about this product – crushed minerals! – I was a little dubious and expected some kind of super sparkle. But I was looking for a spring foundation that offers great coverage for my rosacea skin, that will last without creasing in my lines, and has a good color pigment (which, to me, is the difference between the less expensive foundations and the more expensive foundations) and wasn’t too matte or too creamy, I found all of that in this product. The color choice is limited – but it blends so beautifully that even the Beech – which is the lightest color and is a warm tone – looks great on my reddened skin. It neutralizes the redness without looking yellow. And let me repeat myself: it does not settle into lines and wrinkles! Again, this is a great product for the menopausal crowd who have the problems of hot flashes (doesn’t melt away!!!!), uneven pigmentation, and facial lines. Younger women have lots of options. It has a 15 SPF and runs around $80 but you’ll use this foundation to the end of the bottle.

   I recently ended up using my Kanebo foundation and was surching for a new foundation. I have tested tiny jars (samples) made by S.A.’s from Helena Rubinstein Liquid light, Guerlain Parure Gold, Dior Capture foundation, Estée Lauder Re-Nutriv Ultimate radiance.
   Not a bad foundation. Feels really light, but covers in a natural way. You do not like a doll with this. A fresh (altough it stinks big time!), natural foundation. The inner radiance technology (you must hear the SA!) does work a bit. No artificial glitters, but a healthy radiance (no glow, too matte for that, at least on my dry skin). Bad point: quality of pigments. Does not last that long on skin at same color intensity (by evening still on skin, but different and not as flattering). Bad color choice (I had Fresco) I would like a bit more moisture. Because of quality from pigments: too expensive. Leaflet is laughable: pearls from the wild south see, inner radiance,… You expect a miracle, and what you get is a decent product. Nice tried!
