I bought this in Bisque 01, thinking it would be a good match for my pale yellow skintone. However, firstly, the colour was not a good match–it came out way too pale and absolutely did not match either the colour chart in the store or the coloured bottle it comes in.
Secondly, it just would not blend in. With the consistency it is, it ended up just kind of sliding around on my skin, even after I’d shaken it to get it mixed better inside the container. I had my sister try it as well, but she had the same issues with it.
While I quite like Sonia Kashuk brushes, I will be staying away from their foundations in the future!

Not many color choices.
However, it makes your skin look bright when you actually apply it.
Sheer to medium coverage.
I got it really cheap when Target was closing in Canada.
Since I have to cross border to buy it in Target, I’ll probably not purchase it again.
Pump design is little bit flawed, and It’s hard to see how much you have left.
If I can buy it around the same price as Maybelline FIT me foundation, I would consider repurchasing it.

This foundation was terrible in my opinion. I bought it for a very reasonable price, but the cost to my skin was astronomical. My pores would clog and it gave me cystic acne. The color didn’t work for me it was actually quite gray. It went on so cakey thick that I had to wash it right off each time I tried it. I tried to give it a fair chance. Primer, no primer, finishing powder, and none. I keep forgetting about it and trying again, only to be swiftly reminded of its many negative attributes. Today it went in the trash.

Wowza okay where do I begin? I agree with everyone that says this stuff stinks, the scent literally makes me gag and seems to take forever to go away. It took me weeks to hunt down my shade because Target was always a mess whenever I went to look. Disappointing.
I have this in #05 Bamboo (great match, I am golden olive, NC40 in MAC, Becca in Bamboo, MUFE HD in #153) and it has a nice gel-moisturiser like feel, spreads easily and leaves a slight glow to skin with light to medium coverage. You could get away wearing this shade even if you are a bit deeper/warmer than my own skin, I haven’t noticed any ashiness or flashback at all.
Lasting power is okay – about 5 hours, due to the moisturising nature it’s best for drier skin types if used alone in my opinion. I use a bit of Marcelle’s Loose powder or MAC’s MSFN on top which adds too the wear time so I only have to touch-up maybe once during the day when it’s warmer or I’m more oily. I have combination, but easily dehydrated skin and I love a natural look so the dewiness/light coverage does not bother me but might be a con for some. Excellent pump-style packaging makes it easy to take with you or just store without mess.
Sadly I just can’t wear this because I am really picky about scent and also sensitive-skinned (mainly have reactions to fragrance/essential oils) so it sits around collecting dust. I think this has the *potential* if SK improved on it to really compete with HE foundations but sadly it just doesn’t deliver in terms of longevity, shade selection, texture, and especially that horrid smell.

Amazing for yellow undertoned skin! I’m NC15 in mac and the shade Vanilla is a perfect match! I always struggle to find foundations yellow enough for my Asian skin. I love the formula for winter and when my face feels dry! However, this foundation started to make me break out over time. I think the dimethicone that helps it glide smoothly during application, slowly clogs pores after continuous use. I have combo skin and I think people with dry or aging skin would love this foundation & wouldn’t have a problem with clogged pores!

I don’t like this foundation and there isn’t anything necessarily special about it
PROs:
-Great pump packaging
-Good colour match (not too pink)
-Dewy finish
CONs:
-Annoying fragrance that lingers
-Light coverage/not buildable
-Unnatural finish: The foundation looks like it sits on the skin, even with a very thin layer.
-Staying power was okay
I don’t recommend this. There are better foundations out there.

Coverage/Color Payoff:
Seems to be medium coverage and only slightly buildable. The consistency of the product is on the thicker side as foundations go (it’s like the texture of a mousse foundation), so I thought it was going to be full coverage for sure, but it thins out when you apply it. I used a full pump on my whole face and had to use a little more to go back over certain areas.
Shade Selection:
Not very wide (6 shades). All the shades seem to have a yellow undertone, even the lightest ones. I was very happy about this because it can be hard to find good drugstore foundation with yellow undertones, but if you’re cool-toned I wouldn’t recommend this foundation line.
Staying Power:
Looked nice by the end of the day (I set it with the Sonia Kashuk Undetectable finishing powder). No splotchy areas or oxidation.
Scent:
Definitely a noticeable scent. I could smell it during application but not afterward. To me it smells a little like cinnamon lol. Some people seem to think it’s unbearable but I don’t mind it, though completely unscented would be ideal.
Packaging:
It comes in a hard plastic tube with a pump. Personally, I love this packaging style. I think it’s cute, but the tube is opaque, so it’s pretty much impossible to tell how much is in there.
Finish:
Very dewy. I would highly recommend setting it with a finishing powder. Also probably not a good pick if you have oily skin.
Price:
$11 for 0.6oz. Not outrageous, but it’s substantially more than most drugstore brands for such a small amount of product. You could find a similar coverage and color foundation for much cheaper.
Overall:
There is nothing especially great about this product, in my opinion. The big plus for me was that this foundation (like a lot of the Sonia products) have yellow undertones. One of the main selling points of the Sonia products is that they are marketed to resemble and perform like high-end products, but at (slightly higher than) drugstore brand prices. I think the brand has a lot of high-end-quality products, but this foundation didn’t amaze me.

High-end result for a low(ish) drugstore price! I hadn’t read reviews about this foundation before purchasing, just picked it up while I was in Target. I’ve been looking for a luminous/moisturizing foundation since other foundations I’ve used (oil-control and/or matte finishes) leave my skin cakey and gross by the end of my workday. I’d rather not have to redo my foundation halfway through the day. Also, I usually go for pink-undertoned foundations since I am very fair skinned with a lot of pink undertones, but the lightest shade is very much a yellow-tinted shade….but that actually is what I’ve been needing! Instead of my skin looking very orange/pink, the yellowness cancels out the redness of my acne and on my cheeks. The finish is natural and blends very easily, doesn’t cling to any dry patches and is easy to apply.

Very rarely will I write a review for foundation products. I’ve always had troubled skin (oily, acne prone) so wearing foundation certainly irritates that problem. I’ve used L’oreal’s Lumi foundation in W1-2 for about a year or two (on and off) and believed it was the best foundation for me, despite my constant oiliness!
So went to Target to buy a new bottle and they didn’t have my shade in stock. I debated between a few cheaper brands and decided to try out this foundation. This feels and acts like a high end foundation. Its light weight, buildable, and might seem a little pricey for a drugstore foundation but its affordable for the quality that you get from the product. I use a latex free sponge to apply this foundation. I use a new sponge everyday and they cost about $3 for 30 small sponges from Target.
Use this product paired with a translucent powder to set and maybe a colored powder to mix as well so you’re not left with any white casting. To keep from getting oily you can either spray with Urban Decay’s setting spray or layer the NYX oil control setting spray while applying each layer of makeup. On day one of wearing this foundation I was complemented on the natural look of my makeup by a stranger. I’ve been wearing this foundation for a month and I’ve seen significant improvement in the quality of my skin texture and I don’t have to worry about breaking out from my foundation. I cannot wait to discover what else Sonia Kashuk has to offer.
EDIT: This product is still rather new to me. I’ve bought and completely used up two entire bottles. I really enjoyed the look and feel of this foundation but I used those two bottles in about a month. I can’t be going through foundation so often especially at this price. I thought the fact that there was only .6 oz wouldn’t bother me but it really does. Especially when there are other foundations that have 1 oz for the same price and similar quality. My new favorite is the Boots Botanics Shine Away foundation…I recently did a review in the color Vanilla of this foundation if you are interested! Check it out

So I just bought this foundation from Target because they’re closing in Canada so I got it for around 8$, which to me should be the price that it’s sold at regularly(so expensive!!!). I just tried it on, and I have no acne scars and no hyperpigmentation or bad blemishes etc, so this foundation looks absolutely beautiful on me! I got it in vanilla 02 which is an almost perfect match. I see many people complaining about the smell of the product, and it sticks around for a long time which is why this foundation got only 4/5 lippies. But the thing is, the smell is identical to this burn cream from France that my family has been using for years that’s used in hospitals on burn victims, which makes me wonder; is it just an unusual smell? Or does this product have benefits for your skin? Either way, I really like this foundation. If anything about it goes bad tonight after I wear it, I’ll update my review. Otherwise, I like it very much.
