Why are all ELF products so dark and yellow?

The bottle I purchased is called Flawless Satin Foundation (I’m not entirely sure it is the same), I chose Pearl which is deceptively lighter than it would appear from outside the frosted glass bottle. It is labeled ‘Neutral Undertones’ but even though I am very pale it manages to give me a grayish cast. The “fragrance” is really something else, it smells like my grandma’s trailer house. Good memories but I don’t necessarily want that smell emanating from my face. o.O
I use a foundation brush, which pushes this foundation around. It has sort of a Crisco consistency and if worked a bit too hard will just disappear. It does layer and will eventually blend. As far as I can tell there is no sunscreen in this foundation, so I would not be able to use it in summer because my skin with sunscreen and foundation will just go orange on me immediately. This product has many dimethicones and silicas and other things I would need to update my glasses to read.
Maybe I will try the next darker shade because it is not expensive, but that depends on the smell and whether or not it dissipates. I have had trouble with my complexion getting lighter in winter and it seems I am constantly trying different brands/shades to compensate, Revlon Colorstay in the lightest shade is currently a bit orange on me and has been irritating my skin as well.

After hearing many YouTubers rave about this I thought I would try it. It’s a nice long wearing foundation. It doesn’t look cakey. On my dry/dehydrated skin it gives a demi matte finish. Coverage is medium on my skin. Doesn’t settle into fine lines. Preforms just like higher end foundations. For the price I recommend it.

I did like this at first but for some reason it looks soo heavy on me and doesn’t wear very well. it just doesnt work for my skin but that is likely because it is a thicker formula which generally dont tend to look good on me. thinner formulas are what look and work the best for me, plus it is very very strongly scented which i didnt mind at first but has started to bother me after awhile

I have sensitive skin, so this didn’t work for me. I wanted to love this so much because of the perfect chocolate-color match, the ability to control shine and the pretty finish. But the day after I wore this for the first time, I started getting painful bumps. I checked the ingredients and noticed that there’s Silica. I definitely can’t wear that. Other people have mentioned fragrance. While I can’t smell it, I know that my skin doesn’t do well with that product. But if your skin isn’t sensitive, this is an awesome product!

This foundation is cheap and cheerful. I figured, why not try it for the price. I got it in ‘natural’ and it was a decent match for my NC13 skin. It was ok for me but not amazing. It was just a bit too matte and drying on my dry skin. I can see that it would work if my skin was less dehydrated.
One thing I could not get past though was the fragrance. It was so strong and I really did not care for it. Overall, not for me.

This is a Hidden Gem. ELF has really Advanced their Product line and I can’t be more Impressed.
This Product is Packaged in thick Glass which is something an Expensive High End Product Line would do and comes with a Pump. A very little goes a Very long way.
I started by using a Maybelline face Primer which was nothing expensive, pumped 2 Squirts (which was too much) on my Blending sponge and blended into my face. I have very porous skin and this gave me Full Coverage, Porcelain Skin. I typically finish my face with loose powder and didn’t need to. I am shook on how great my face looks. I ordered this online and was lucky that the shade I picked matched perfectly. I would absolutely purchase this again and I highly recommend it.

Got this in Rose 200. It blends well with my skin tone as i swatch it at my jaw before purchasing as they were having sales and i use to try one of their item many years ago, can’t remember what it is but wasn’t too impressed. Similar feeling to this. When i try it at the back of my hand, i initially thought it was oily but with some powder i think it would be ok. But on the face it was alright, not that oily but not too thick that it dries quickly like Estee Lauder Double Wear, talk about cakey, that was heavy, thick and cakey. My skin can’t breathe. I don’t know about causing acne since i am only using it for two days but i was kind of worry when quite a few reviewer here said that it turn orangey on their face, luckily it did not happen for me. I remember i got a compact powder from Max Factor in early 2000 and it turn orangey on my face within an hour or two. I threw that away. May or may not repurchase as the perfume is on the heavy side and this foundation doesn’t cover much so it look ok, not cakey, but with a concealer, everything settle.

After running out of the usual Estee Lauder Double Wear – 3 department stores didn’t have my color, I gave this a try….and glad I did. I like just as well if not better than the Estee one. Will definitely purchase again.

My skin is not that difficult, uneven skin tone and enlarged pores around my nose. And I thought this foundation should do the trick… Flawless?! How ironic. Cause it does not make my face seem flawless, it makes it look a hell of a lot worse, turning it into an unnatural, dusty, cakey mess mask! It was so terrible, that my boyfriend (who doesn’t give a damn about makeup) grabbed a wet tissue and wiped it off my face.
I tried to make it work but no matter how I applied it (sponge, brush, fingers), it ended up looking cakey and had to wipe it off. It eventually ended up in the garbage bin.

My family is a Yves Rocher-fan so I’ve decided to try their foundation and…well, I wasn’t impressed. First, I bought it because it was 1+1 free promotion so it was pretty cheap. The coverage is medium for a full-coverage I have to use a lot of corrector pencil and powder and after using these tree products my face feels kinda….heavy? I also like my foundation to be a little thicker so I’m not a fan of this foundation.
I recommend this foundation to those who don’t need a full-coverage ( I’m talking about those people who want a product for smoothing)

I got shade 03 in beige medium after I tried some samples of this shade. 02 was too light for me, so I got 03. I loved the smells of these foundations. One importantant point I noticed was that samples of 03 medium beige turns to be slightly different from the real foundation in shade and durability. The color truned orangy on the skin. I noticed it after I saw my terrible dark orangy skin photos . I just quit its using. there is huge shade difference between the shades. Not worth money really even if there are on sale which lots of time there are.

i like this foundation its lightwear, the coverage its medium wich i like and the color selection its pretty decent theres only 4 shades and two undertones wich i think its great because i always have problems with that, they are very wearable im a 200 beige in its a little dark for my skin color but once its blended it looks perfect, it really conceals my pores last all day and make my skin look radiant and even, it looks like im not wearing makeup at all and that my skin looks perfect “au nature” wich its exactly what i look in a foundation. the price its very affordable
the only down side its that my t zone gets soooo shiny after a few hours but its easily prevent with some setting powder before the foundation
brainyBoa7
It’s my first foundation and I got it as a gift, to try. I used just powder once in a while before but it didn’t work on my dry skin.
Now this I got in the lightest shade Rose 100 and it matches very well, though I am not really that fair 🙂 I apply with a brush. It seems to cover well and last awhile, but I have quite dry patches near my nose and in 3-4 hours it becomes visible there. I don’t need to set it with powder. I detect no smell. What I don’t like is the price and that it contains parabens, otherwise I think it’s ok.

I don’t usually opt for DS foundations but I decided to try this one and surprisingly it’s not heavy and and doesn’t stick to my dry patches . It isn’t full coverage , I apply two pumps and that’s good enough for me . I picked the color cashew as I’m starting to get darker and it matched my skin well. There isn’t a smell so that’s good. For $8 it’s a good foundation and I will repurchase if I need to!

this is definitely one of my HG foundations that ive been reaching for and the only one i actually got a back up for. some foundations i have overtime they look very textured and patchy because of how dry and textured my skin is. this elf foundation however doesnt, it looks so smooth and flawless with a natural satin finish. i love using this for when i want more coverage as this is high medium-high coverage, lasts all day and doesnt define texture or sink into fine lines. i wouldnt wear this if your going to be sweating as it isnt water or sweat proof. so easy to blend into the skin and a little goes along way because the coverage is amazing for an underrated brand. it covers almost all redness and discolourations i have and does brighten up your face a little for a subtle glow from within look. it comes in 40 different shades which they expanded recently and covers lots of skin tones which is a big improvement from their other foundations. i highly recommend this foundation for if you like a little bit of a natural glow but still want good coverage.

I’ve never been able to find a foundation that is truly full coverage but also lightweight. I’m not gonna lie, I had very low expectations for this product, as it was only $6,but I bought two shades and I could not be more in love. This is by far my favorite foundation at the moment. It doesn’t leave your skin too oily but also gives a nice, not too matte finish. It’s not sticky or too thick like most full coverage foundations, which I love and when it says flawless finish, it means flawless! Ten out of ten would recommend!
hushedSmelt3
This foundation is great especially if used with the “Yves Rocher Perfect Primer”. It doesn’t break me out and it’s long lasting which is great since I have very Oily Asian Acne Prone Skin and every other Foundation I tried would break me out, melt off my face or since it contained SPF would make me look pale as a ghost. Yes this Foundation can make you look orangey but if you cleanse your skin first you won’t have this issue and use the “Yves Rocher Perfect Primer” will make it last even longer. It’s abit pricey and has a strange smell but it’s worth it.

I love this foundation! I have tried many different foundations, and this is definately my favourite. It provides great coverage, and is 14 hour wear. It stays put ALL DAY. The shades and tone of the foundation is perfect for me. They have colours for both beige and pink undertones. I love this foundation, I will definately be buying it more often!

Not quite impressed with this…color turns into an orange mess and my skin doesn’t look any better with this as it tends to empasise my imperfections(dry patches& blemishes) and also looks very obvious and kinda chalky without offering enough coverage-I regret buying it…
