This colour is very unusual, it is almost red and not hot pink. It is very expensive, at $69 Australian. if you love long wearing matte lipstick that feels like a sheer you will be happy with this.
There is a lot of transfer in the first half hour and then it seems to settle like a sheer fabric on the lips. Definitely not drying though. I have found that it does very slightly bleed (noticeable only by close inspection).
It doesn’t last all day on me, it lasts about 3 hours. I live in a hot and humid climate so a lipstick has to cope with the heat and aircon. I fades nicely, so even when it has faded I don’t have that nearly dead look … 🙂
I spent a lot of time online trying to find a decent description of this colour and whether it was similar to LQ Sinner in Hot Rose. I love Hot Rose, in the Sinner and Saint range and Private Party is very similar.
I would describe the Velvet Rope lipsticks as a supercharged Sinner. I use the Saint in hot rose to touch up during the day at work as Velvet Rope requires a bit of attention when applying.
I am glad I bought this.
Have to try the Bête Noire in Possessed Sheer next.
