I typically do not wear red lipstick. But, I came across this color in ulta and I could not resist. I wore the color to work and got several compliments. I even had a coworker that went out the same day and purchased a tube for herself. The lipstick is quite expensive at $50 per bullet. However, this is one that you could keep for a long time.This couldn’t definitely be a signature color for a sassy lady. The formula is amazing and non drying and a little minty. The color pairs well with mac’s beet lip liner.

This is the perfect lipstick formula. At £35 GBP this is an expensive lipstick but it applies and wears so much better than Mac, Nars, Chanel, Lancome, YSL, Givenchy, Dior, Kat Von D, Tom Ford, Lipstick Queen main line etc. Every time I wear it I’m stuck anew with how creamy and easy to apply it is and how long it lasts without being drying. Packaging is cute, kind of 1920s inspired. The only lipstick I have which comes close to this is Rouge G by Guerlain (also really great). I 100% recommend trying the Velvet Rope range.

This range of Lipstick Queen lipsticks are the best I have ever used. With lip liner they last through the working day, with some fading of course, are comfortable and not drying. The product transforms to a satiny feel on the lips once it settles after 5 minutes or so.
Black Tie is a great red, it is medium to dark red without becoming crimson. I have a few reds but this one will is my favorite.
LQ lipsticks are ALL amazing colours, there must be a lot of thought and effort that goes into their creation as so many are a fascinating blend of tones that no other brand or line gets anywhere near creating.
The Velvet Rope collection of 5 colours are expensive, in Australia they are $69 online via Mecca.com.au . The colours are probably not the safest for online purchases as they are all striking, even Star System which is an apricot toned nude beige. It is a pity there is not a popular safe all rounder like rose in this line because I think it would be a big hit for those wanting perfection in a lasting lipstick without taking any purchase risks.
I was a devotee of Poppy Kings lipsticks in the 1990s and was very disappointed when the brand was discontinued. By chance I came upon the LQ brand on the Mecca website and was so pleased to discover Poppy is back in business, only better then before.
If you are not able to afford this line but would like a lasting comfortable semi matte then have a look at the LQ Sinner range. Although LQ describe the Sinner range as matte, they are not like the mattes from other brands and are moist as well as long lasting. The rose and nude colours are both lovely and lean towards being a pale red.
