well … i received this as a free birthday month gift from ULTA. thank goodness it was free! i have it in the color ‘homeslice’. seems that tarte spent more time and effort on cutesy, cringeworthy, culture-vulture names of the different colors than on the actual quality of the product itself. homeslice is a peach/nude — a pretty color on brown skin — HOWEVER, the texture is very overly-dry (even for a matte), and application is uneven and tacky. this formula needs a lot of improvement. i would not dare to purchase this, and probably won’t finish using this free sample.

It’s not a fantastic lip stain, and it’s not a bad one at all, pretty decent and normal product in most respects.
Goes on very smooth and light, does not stain lip edges after a few hours, but also doesn’t last beyond a few hours (will last longer if you don’t eat or drink or touch it). The colour fades nicely, smell is pleasant. Careful when reapplying though, it will cake and crumble if you layer, so use a lip balm (but that will make it last much much shorter).

I have this in the color exposed. It is a nude tone with good pigmentation. However, the matte finish really accented my vertical lip lines and wore off withing an hour.

Nice quality formulation and fairly long lasting (5hrs). Feels like typical Tarte (above average) quality. Nicely densely pigmented. Buildable and blotable for a softer look. Does not goes to the edges (lipliner) like cheaper dupes. When it wears it just fades back and does not flake or dry. Shades are a bit dark and conservative. Smells nice. I will buy more but hard to pick shades online.

I have several shades of the Tarte lipsticks. Overall the formula is pretty light and pigmented as you apply it first time. The downside of this is when you need to re-apply again, say after you consumed food or drinks, the formula tends to crumble and almost look like a sandpaper (not even exaggerating). Overall Tarte have some really nice and conservative shades. If only the formula could lasts the whole day.

I got this in a few different shades, and all of them are very pigmented. Easy to apply with the applicator. Dries really well – minimal lines on lips. doesnt dry out lips. I love this minty scent to it. However it is difficult to wash off and sometimes the pigments just stay on my lips til the next day which is kinda scary. I just finished it in the shade ‘FOMO’ which is a really nice magenta/fushsia shade.

I like the product , it doesn’t feel drying on the lips and is a nice consistency to wear. Long lasting and flattering shades. I really don’t like the applicator. It’s an odd shape, it’s not comfortable or accurate to apply

These were on sale at Ulta for half price so I went ahead and picked one up in shade Rosé. It’s the perfect nude for me, which I’ve been searching for forever. It seems like every one I try is either too brown or too pink, but this shade is just right. It’s true liquid consistency, sort of thin but goes on smooth and doesn’t streak.
It lasts for around 8 hours if I’m careful about eating and drink through a straw. It doesn’t crumble or flake.
I do feel that it’s somewhat drying but no worse than many other matte formulas, so it’s bearable. If I could change anything about it I wish it were just a bit more moisturizing.
