This is my very first mac lipstick, got this after I saw it on a youtuber and it looks really nice on her. I got this 2 years ago I think when MAC lipstick is still SGD29. I see that it has gone up to SGD31, not sure why they keep increasing prices yearly.
Anyway I was attracted to this pretty light peach orangey tone as I wanted the Korean pastel lip look. I think its not one of the hot selling colours as there are very few reviews for this shade.
I find this formula to be slightly towards the dry side and it does emphasize flakes but not as severe for the lip lines. It will suit fair skin but not for dark skin tones. It does not make you look pale and sick due to its light tone. Lasting power not great as like most lipsticks, I had a cake and there is a light shade left. Definitely requires re touch.
I think I should try again with a lip balm next time. Recommend this tone if you are going for a korean spring look.

This reminds me of nars matte pencil in bolero, but I wanted a glossier finish, so I’m glad I waited and found this instead. now my mac addiction is back. I uploaded a pic wearing it ombre style w benefit fakeup in light as lip primer first. Without primer the color is way less true to tube on my pigmented lips (which amplify the brightness into neon rather than pastel, which is what I like about this color.) this is HG for no makeup makeup looks when I’m in a rush.

Really beautiful color but I hate the formula. It is not long lasting, fades in 10 minutes. I do not want to spend $16 on a lipstick that is bad quality. Better get a dupe for this one, I found NYX Pure Nude that is almost the same color and the same bad quality, except it’s $4.

On it’s own, this looks horrible on me (NC20) – very pale and pastel like. However, combined with pink lipsticks, it’s great at finding that perfect peachy pinky coral shade that I love.
I love the formula and smell and was happy to see that this is now part of the permanent line.

I’m surprised there is only one review on this lipstick. This lipstick first came out in a collection called all about orange, but now it has been added to the permanent line at MAC stores in Canada/USA. It is a cremesheen formula, and that is why I gave it a 4 out of 5, cause I do find this lipstick settles in the cracks of your lips. I was hesitant to try this shade at first because it is a light peach. It almost looked to light for me to pull off (NC42) but I tried it on at the MAC counter and it actually looked nice against my tan skin. I feel if your darker then NC42 it might not work for you and I find it looks amazing on fair to medium skin tones too.

Sweet & Sour is a limited edition Cremesheen lipstick released with MAC’s All About Orange collection in June of 2013. As far as MAC Cremesheen lipsticks go, this deserves five lippies. However, I’m not a huge fan of the Cremesheen formula (nor of most of MAC’s lipstick formulas TBH), so 4 lippies is the most I’m willing to give them.
About Me: Fair with warm yellow undertones (about an NC18 right now, only quite a bit more yellow toned). Very pigmented rosy red lips. Hazel eyes that look blue in daylight. Natural brunette currently dyed aubergine purple with a lot of deep red and copper highlights.
Color: In the tube, this is a light, but bright pinky peach. Swatched on my hand and on my lips, it appears a little less bright. Color coverage is between sheer and opaque… leaning towards opaque. I love the way this color looks on me. I’m not crazy about pale lipsticks as I just think they look odd, but this isn’t as pale as I thought it would be after looking at swatches. However, if I had darker skin, I don’t think I would care for it (I intensely dislike the look of lipsticks when they aren’t at least a shade darker than my skin tone).
Finish: Sweet & Sour has no shimmer, but does have a creamy looking sheen making it appear a little glossy (similar to most other Cremesheens).
Texture: Same as most (good) Cremesheens: Glides on smoothly and evenly and doesn’t feel drying. However, this lipstick has the same issues that I have with all Cremesheens: Even though it doesn’t feel drying, it doesn’t feel moisturizing either. Also, the texture is too thin for me. Despite the formula name, it doesn’t feel creamy in the least (just looks it).
Wear Length: 3 hours (my average for mid to high-end lipsticks in general is 3 1/2).
Comparison: Only based on color/finish…. not texture/wear length.
Shy Girl is a lot less similar than I would have thought… it’s noticeably darker, slightly less pink, not as bright (Shy Girl’s color is far more natural and muted in comparison), is more sheer, and has more of a sheen and a little sparkle.
Cut a Caper is pinker and quite a bit darker.
Ever Hip is a little pinker, quite a bit darker, and more sheer.
Razzledazzler is quite a bit darker.
Reel Sexy isn’t even remotely close (darker, pinker, waaay brighter).
Bottom Line: As far as MAC Cremesheen lipsticks go, the texture and wear length are spot on… but I’m not a Cremesheen fan (all of them are too thin, none of them feel moisturizing to me, and they don’t have the best wear length). Still though, LOVE the color and would repurchase if it wasn’t LE.
