I don’t even know what to say about this product – it’s so good that it can barely be described in words. Ya gotta see it to believe it.
This color is incredible! It can lean green, purple hued, black, grey-ish – it totally depends on the lighting and method of application. It applies like a dream, is super silky, and blends great. It doesn’t crease at all and it’s pretty darned opaque – a little goes a long way. It’s a lot like Mac pigments in that it can be layered with other shadows to pull out various shades within it, however you want. These can be used wet or dry, depending on the intensity desired. And can we talk about the embossed sort of look? It’s so pretty that I almost don’t want to use it!
IMO these are the best formulation and unique color selection MAC offers – they are my fave. Since these are $20 each, I find they are a little more than I want to shell out so I will only purchase a handful in which are shades that other Mac shadows have no comparison/close dupe to. But is Legendary Lure worth the price? YES IT IS!

The Mac Extra-Dimension eyeshadows are amazing. Have these in Stolen Moment and Fathoms Deep. Ultra rich pigments, glide on smoothly, can be used wet and dry. I use base on my hooded eyes, so cannot comment on the staying power. With my base (Art Deco), these shadows last and last. The “extra dimension” probably refers to the beautiful, rich duo-chrome effects that some standard Mac Eyeshadows also have (e.g. Traxx, Idol Eyes, etc).

When MAC released these last year, this was sold out before I could get my hands on it. Now, MAC has re-released a lot of its past Extra Dimension shadows and made them permanent, which I think was a wise move (Sea Worship, which I did get, is such an extraordinary colour that it should have been made permanent right away and the same is true of many of the colours from this collection). I’ve only had Legendary Lure for a few days and I’m really enjoying it. I’ve worn it on the outer half of the lid and outer crease almost every single day (I also tried it as an all over lid shade and even for day-time, it was lovely when applied lightly). This colour is so complex….deep silvery green? grey? greenish black? It’s all there depending on how heavily or lightly you apply it, how you blend it out and what you pair it with. It’s only recently occured to me that the Extra Dimension shadows are very much like Nars Dual Intensity shadows. They look very similar in the pans and perform and apply very similarly. Like Nars shadows, these from MAC are also formulated to be applied dry or with a damp brush for greater “intensity” or “dimension”, hence those descriptors in the names.
Not wild about the packaging because these don’t come in pro pans and even if I were inclined to depot (I’m not), my understanding is that the Extra Dimension shadows shouldn’t be depotted. But I’d love to put all the smaller Extra Dimension shadows I own into quads – it would be so much more convenient.

This eye shadow is absolutely incredible. Not only is the color so unique and gorgeous, (is it green? Is it black? Is it aqua?) but the pigmentation is… Aahhh, there are no words. Opaque in one swipe! The shifts and pulls in this color are like nothing else I own. Definitely one of my favorite colors to date! Makes for a very interesting and “one of a kind” smokey eye look. Or I push it along my lower lash line to add some amazing color & drama. I have a swatch video of the MAC’s Alluring Aquatic Collection on my youtube channel. This is the perfect smoky eye color! I applied it without primer in the pic in my prof, and it came out as if I had layered UD green over black for 10 min! It blended effortlessly. It catches light like crazy. So glad I ordered I it sight unseen. I love the MAC extra dimension eye shadow. It makes shading a no-nonsense task for those of us who aren’t as prolific or dripping with time to blend.
