If you like Amuse Bouche shades like Chai and Fig you should definitely check out Pepper. Chai is pretty brown and Fig is completely pink, but Pepper is a lovely mauve that’s kinda right in the middle. It is a staple daytime lipstick for me, as it is neutral, flattering, and work-appropriate without being nude/MLBB or pink. I tend to prefer mauvey shades or peachy shades for the daytime to actually alter the color of my lips, and Pepper does this without going over the top. It wears nicely, and fades gracefully so that it isn’t fussy with constantly needing touchups. Bite’s Amuse Bouche formula is amazing, and I will definitely keep Pepper on hand as a go-to for easy daytime looks.

This is one of my favorite lipsticks, a beautiful color, not drying. I am pale, on me this is ever so slightly darker than MLBB, still subtle though.

The photo shown here is misleading – the shade is not nearly as pink as that photo makes it look. It’s a plummy MLBB with a gorgeous moist satin finish that’s amazingly comfortable for having so much pigmentation. The biggest negative is staying power – it has none. The formula never sets and transfers all over the place. It lasted one hour (admittedly I was having a cup of tea but way more of it was on the cup than my mouth after five minutes). I took off two lippies for the fact that you have to reapply it constantly – at this price, they should have worked out a more tenacious formula.

I bought this in a set with Nori, Fig, and Honeycomb. This was the color I was least interested in trying, but I’ve ended up loving it the most. It’s description is “dusty rose” and while that’s actuate, it’s so much more than that. My lips have a natural pink tone and pull most lipsticks toward fuchsia (my Asian skin is light with olive undertones, bareMinerals Light). On me, Pepper is the ultimate my-lips-but-rosier shade. It’s a muted rose that makes my lips look perfectly and naturally rose-colored. The balance of pink and brown is just right straight out of the tube, I don’t need to blot or adjust with pencil or gloss. I am in love with Bite’s lipstick line. The texture goes smooth on smooth and stays put. The color lasts through most anything that isn’t oily, and when it does wear off it does it evenly and unnoticeably. Since it’s a matte lipstick it is a bit on the dry side, but nothing uncomfortable. My lips will often react with lipsticks, becoming dry and flaky for 2 days after application, but Bite’s lipsticks haven’t caused that problem. I will buy a full-size Pepper when this little one runs out!

This is a really nice, every-day colour. This nude is quite wearable and soft, the finish is on a creamier side which makes this lipstick a perfect, comfortable wear for someone who perhaps wants a nice, warm-toned nude.
I like Pepper on the days when I either did a lot on my eyes and want to wear a hint of colour on my lips, but nothing too much; or when I am at the office.
This lipsticks also tastes and smells delicious, so I really like it.

I got a sample at Sephora a year or two ago and as luck would have it, this was in a set offered this fall- had a mini lip mask, a pencil, mirror, gloss, removing wipes, and maybe something else I’m forgetting. I have enjoyed it all, but I admit I bought it for Pepper. It’s an MLBB color for me (dark brown hair, blue eyes, rosy skin) and I don’t like to wear bold or dark colors because of my redness. This is nice an neutral, moisturizing and easy to apply- I don’t even need a mirror. I get compliments on it all the time for it being “subtle” and “naturally pretty!”

Beautiful shade of the fantastic lipstick. The high price tag is absolutely worth it! Bite beauty describes it a dusty rose. To me it looks darker in the tube and the hand swatch – more like brick red/terra cotta/brown. On the lips, it looks pinky brown, very Marsala-ish.
Pros:
Smooth, buttery texture. Goes on easily and evenly, no skipping or patchiness.
No tugging/pulling when applying.
Feels and wears very comfortably, not sticky, and is very moisturizing.
Beautiful packaging, the bullet goes all the way down.
Wears for about 4 hours with no eating/drinking.
Cons:
There is on color “swatch” on the tube. The shade name is on the bottom. The top of the lipstick is slanted/curved, making upside down storage very tricky.
Seems to get lighter as you wear it. It is not that the shade “wears off”, this happens 15-20 minutes after you put it on.
There is a sweet, fruity taste to this lipstick when you first put it on, but it goes away pretty quickly. I do not notice any scent.
Overall, great lipstick. I’ve never went through the entire lipstick yet, but if I ever use up all of this one, I will gladly repurchase.

My skin tone: fair-light, N15/N15
Eyes/hair: medium brown
Color:
I LOVE this color. There isn’t anything exciting about it, but for me that’s the point – a perfect MLBB shade. It wears neural but ever so slightly warm on me, and I can wear it with anything. It’s probably dupable, but I don’t care – part of the appeal of Bite to me is the food-grade ingredients, so I don’t care if I can get it 1/2 the price at the drugstore. (I do buy DS lipsticks for shades I don’t think I’ll get as much use of.)
Texture & longevity:
All the lipsticks are moisturizing and comfortable to wear, not matte or masky but with subtle sheen. This goes on smoothly and it can tend to stray after like 6 hours, but the longevity is not great. I get a few hours from it. (Minus 1 lippie.) Re-application is easy without removing faded product first. This shade fades evenly and sometimes I’ll just freshen it up with a mauvey lipgloss or regular balm if I forget the tube at home.
Cost: $24 at Sephora. Ouch 🙁
Overall a nice, creamy MLBB. personally, I prefer the formula and lasting power of the High Pgment Pencils – they last longer. Rhubarb is the closest shade to this.

Am nc35ish yellow skin tone. lips are def pigmented but not overly so. just writing this review to caution you if you are dry skinned (or flaky lipped rather) and are looking for a lipstick formula for your skin type. did a bit of board searching/research on “moisturizing” lipsticks avail at sephora. this is supposed to have reversatol and other moisturizing type ingredients and the colour scent are decent but I find this reallyyy emphasizes/creates little dry skin bits on the lips. i do exfoliate maybe 2 times a week with a lip scrub. I find that in comparison to this my MAC lipsticks (the sheer formulas) work better at making my lips look smooth. will not be trying other colours.

I purchased this hoping this would be a MLBB shade, but unfortunately it’s a touch too warm/brick for my mauvey/pigmented lips. Pepper reminded me of NARS Dolce Vita lipstick, but with more pigment. I love the scent and formula, but this shade just didn’t work for me.
