I saw this at Ulta and had to purchase it because it resembled my favorite shades: Viva Glam 2 and Blankety. I have a warm medium complexion w/ golden undertone so these colors work best on me. I apply a clear gloss ( Too Faced Venom) and it becomes a pretty finish and an added bonus: it becomes a dupe for Viva Glam 2 lipglass. The only thing I don’t like is the packaging- too flimsy and doesn’t support the lipstick.

Deceiving shade. Seems like it’s going to be the perfect nude shade, but is just too dark for me. Lovely creamy, moisturizing formula though.

Zero issues with the formula, it is creamy, opaque, non-drying, good wear and everything a decent lippie should be. Now I think the issue for most people is the color shade, I’ve read it described as ‘clay’ and I can see where that’s coming from, this lippie has a fair amount of greyish-brown tones to it. But I am in love with this lippie on my own skin, I have pale-ish skin (KvD Light 42) and I love the way it looks on me, it’s like a toned-down, wearable version between a nice soft nude and that dark, retro dramatic brown lip. It is just PERFECT for fall and it really goes well with my coloring. The shade is not for everyone but I think if you have lighter cooler or neutral toned skin with dark hair, you should really give this a try. It manages to be unique and moody while still wearable/work appropriate.
PS. If anyone is wondering how Rea compares with Butter! I could not find decent comparison pics so I bought both. Butter is slightly lighter and more neutral (and more matte), while Rea is slightly darker and has rosier tones and is creamier. Both were non-drying on my easily-chapping lips. 🙂

Not too sure about this shade after the first swatch with no makeup on. But, with the right makeup on and if you have the right coloring for this, you can really pull this off. First of all, I feel everyone should try out all colors as they please no matter what skintone they are. However, I really feel this shade is better suited for netural – warm toned ladies. I’m NC40 ~ Olive and this shade can work for me if I apply matte contouring bronzer and a nice gold or bronze eye. But, even with my coloring, this isn’t a swipe and go type of l/s. Rea needs thought of what to pair it with. With Rea, I get no pink tones at all in this. I do feel that this is a neutral beige with a hint of grey, like some reviewers said “clay”. The formula is very moisturizing, like with all Nyx l/s but they do have that oily feel to them. The staying power is poor. I maybe can get at most 1 hour wear before I have to reapply. The finish is matte, no shimmer or frost in this.

When I first applied it I didn’t like it at all. I think you could only get away with this colour if you are either tan or wearing bronzer as it’s a browny coloured nude.
Also I think this would suit brunettes best.
Not a bad lip colour but you really have to work out what make up to wear before applying this (bronzes, etc)
*EDIT* – my boyfriend likes this lipstick on me 🙂
I think this colour was made for me
and I got some positive glances 🙂
The only bad thing about this is how fragile it was – it snapped so couldn’t use it anymor – binned it.
Wish I didn’t as I would love to own this.
NYX – make your sticks stronger please.

I guess this really is a love/hate product. I’m around NC/NW 25 (I have neutral undertones). When my town finally opened up an Ulta I knew I had to snag some beauty goodies and on my list was a new nude lipstick. I’d been hearing great things about the NYX lippies so I headed right over but the only MATTE nude color they had was Rea. It looked alright in the tube so I bought it without second thoughts.
When I got home I applied it to my lips and loved how creamy and smooth it felt. When I looked in the mirror, UGHHHH so dead! It was the same color as dried up mud. I could not believe it. Next I paired it with NYX’s nude pink lip liner hoping I could give it some nice spark, ahhhh my efforts were futile.
All in all, I think the formulation of these lipsticks are enjoyable but this particular color is so saddening to me :(((

This color resemble blankety or viva glam 2. I would defintley have to tone down the color but I like it

A lot of girls are saying this lipstick is unflattering on them, but I was kind of attracted to the way people described it as being a ‘clay’ sort of shade…
I am very pale (as pale as it gets) but I LOVE this lipstick on my fair skin. It comes out very dark on me and there is a slight greyness to it but I love that. It’s unusual, and not just a brown/nude lipstick.
If you’re super pale and want a dramatic effect, try it out. I’m re-buying a tube already since I lost the first and need it in my lipstick collection!

Thought this was going to be a dupe for blankety. So NOT! It looks sooo unflattering on my fair skin. Its just disgusting.

This doesn’t thrill me. It goes on very moist with good pigmentation, but it doesn’t last on me. It does dry down to just a stain very quickly. I can taste it migrating into my mouth. Not good! Also, this color was very greige and taupey on my nc42 skintone, so it sucked all color out my skin and made me look pale. I’m glad I tried it, but there are better nude lipsticks on the drugstore market.
