Like the previous reviewer, I would not repurchase this particular color from Kylie Cosmetics because it’s not the most flattering shade on me, either. It’s a cool-toned beige pink. However, the Creme Lipstick formula is fast becoming one of my favorites. It glides on with opaque coverage. Compared to my other lipsticks, the texture is relatively lightweight but does feel somewhat moisturizing on my lips. Liquid lipsticks tend to emphasize the natural grooves in my lip (I’m not talking about wrinkles but the grooves everyone has) so I haven’t bought many of those from Kylie. But Kylie’s Creme Lipsticks in bullet form have a very smooth look. They also smell like cake. There are some other great colors in the line that I prefer to Creme Brulee, so I’ll just briefly describe the ones I have purchased. I don’t own all the shades but I have gradually collected several.
Crush is a midtone pink that leans coral, but it’s not as bright or loud as Amore. I’d classify Amore as a coral but more on the pink/red side than the orange side. Amore is a statement color, whereas Crush is more wearable, in my opinion.
Puppy Love is a very pretty light Spring pink, and it’s one of my favorite colors. It’s not exactly peachy but it’s warmer than Infatuation, a pale, cool baby pink.
Sherbet reminds me of orange creamsicles. It’s a pale peach. I like it but oranges can make teeth look slightly yellow so I generally go for something pinker than this (like Puppy Love).
Madeleine is a sophisticated midtone rosy strawberry shade. It’s one of those good job interview colors because of what it’s not. It’s not a hot pink, it’s not a pale nude, and it’s not really red, either. (Red Hot is a true red!) It’s more of a My-Lips-But-Better rosy tone. If you like Charlotte Tilbury’s Walk of Shame, you might like the color of Madeleine, although it’s not a dupe by any means. More like a cousin with a family resemblance.
In the brown tones, Truffle worked out better for me than Mont Blanc, which was a cool taupe against my skin. I am relatively fair and I think I need a good tan to pull off Mont Blanc. Truffle has a touch of mauve to it and it vaguely reminds me of MAC lipsticks like Twig or Whirl, and other nineties browns. My favorite nude in this formula is called Give Me A Kiss, which seems to be exclusive to the Kylie site.
These can temporarily stain the lips. I usually don’t mind that because when the lipstick wears off at lunch, there is some color left behind. For me it would only be problematic if I wanted to switch to an entirely different color. Most days I just reapply the same shade.
Some of the Creme Lipsticks are available at ULTA, but the store I went to did not carry the full range you’ll find on Kylie’s website. ULTA had some of the nudes as well as Madeleine, Crush, and Passion, a mauve pink. ULTA is a good place to start if you want to see testers and get a sense of what the Creme Lipstick formula is like.
Just for reference, here are the foundation shades that currently match me (without a tan): NARS Sheer Glow in Deauville, Tom Ford Foundation Stick in Buff, MAC Studiofix Powder Plus in C3, Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Foundation in Y225, Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation in 52 Vanille. All of these foundations have a slight yellow undertone rather than a pink undertone. If you have a light complexion similar to mine, you might enjoy the same lip shades. Ordering lipstick online can be difficult so hopefully this helps a little.

Creme Brulee is described by Kylie Cosmetics as being a soft muted pink shade of lipstick, with a hydrating cream finish. I picked this shade as the model on the site with a similar skintone to mine, also has the same warm skin undertone as me and the shade looked lovely on her; however on me the lipstick has no visible pink overtones, instead resembling the shade of an elastic band.
As this lipstick has a slightly glossy creme formula, it helps to keep my lips feel hydrated and flake free during cold weather and central heating, as the formula is buttery and light. Having a softer formula means that this product isn’t extremely long wearing [3/4 hours without drinking or eating], but the comfort makes up for this downside in the formula for me – I much prefer this more traditional bullet lipstick over the brand’s more-popular matte and velvet liquid lipsticks. One thing which could be a deal-breaker for some is the fact that this lipstick has a fragrance to it; it has a vanilla cupcake scent, that is very similar to the scent used in the brand’s matte and velvet lipsticks.
I didn’t feel that this item was too overpriced, like I feel the other stuff that I’ve tried from the brand has been; it’s just unfortunate looking like I’ve applied a stick concealer on my lips isn’t my best look, though maybe someone leaning more towards the neutral side of skin undertones could pull it off. Of course, postage and import taxes bump the price up, but I knew what I was getting myself into. Personally I wouldn’t buy this again since I’m not keen on the shade, but there has been a noticeable increase in the brand’s overall quality, so instead of say to avoid this, I’d say that people who can pull off the shade might like this lipstick.
