i have this versicolour stain in the color “long distance relationship” its a vibrant purple and its not half bad. ot goes on a bit sticky but has since dried on my lips and doesnt seem to be transferring onto my cup. the color mattes a bit once dry and looks quite nice, like my normal lip just better. doesnt accentuate the fine lines. i like it. i dont know what the price point is as it was a freebie from mac for spending a certain amount.

I have Tattoo My Heart, which I think is no longer available from the MAC store. It’s a nice semi-neutral coral pink. Good for everyday wear. Goes well with my skin tone.
This is sort of a mix between a gloss and a stain. It applies almost watery, and once setting remains soft, like you have a thick layer of balm on. Application can be a little difficult because of just how loose and thin the formula is. I usually have to blot up some excess. Has a semi-wet shine.
Wearability is only slightly better than a gloss. Needs re-application after eating, drinking, etc. The stain left behind is minimal, but is probably more noticeable with darker colors. Lasts a few hours before needing a touch-up.
Very moisturizing, not drying at all.
The tube is odd but I like it. Short and fat. Easily distinguishable from my other lip products and easy to find in a purse.
I personally like this product a lot, but it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. I wouldn’t be as forgiving of its watery application and short wear life if I had a more dramatic color. I would recommend trying it on in person before buying if possible.

I love this! I have in the shade Peach Aflush. Looks very natural on me, like MLBB. I even received compliments! Definitely not drying and long lasting.

My review is of the Versicolour Lip Stain in Energy Shot.
Oddest MAC lip product I have ever tried. Wait– scratch that! Oddest lip product I have EVER tried– period! Ha ha! Short little stubby package makes you wonder: Is it a lipstick? Or is it a gloss? Looks like it opens on both ends, but it only opens on the end opposite the writing on the bottom of the tube. You pull out the doe foot applicator, and the tip of the applicator is a bright, fuchsia, pink. I thought, “WTF?!? This is NOT the color I ordered! It was supposed to be a pale, nude, pink!” So I flip the tube over (after closing it) to check out the writing on the bottom; and sure enough, it says, “Energy Shot.” That was the pale, nude-pink color I ordered. I open the tube again and start to apply the product to my lips, and I feel like nothing is happening. I look at the applicator and there is a nude, fleshy, liquid on the tip of the fuchsia pink doe-foot. It looks like it is about to drip, so I put it quickly back in the tube. I swore I saw something drip- so now, I am on my knees searching my bedroom carpet for a sticky, pink substance. Can’t find nuthin’. Stand back up and try applying Energy Shot to my lips again; this time, more carefully. I smear it on my bottom lip and it applies like a Dollar Store’s kid’s lipgloss. Wait– scratch that! It applies WORSE than a Dollar Store’s kid’s lipgloss! Ha ha! I rub my lips together, and the product slips around on my lips- quite messily. Good grief! What have I wasted my money on THIS time?!? I look in the mirror again and the product has sunk into my lips, but I can’t see it. They look like my lips without anything on them. They have no color, no gloss, no matte effect. ::sigh:: I tried applying it again with the same result. Not impressed.
I WILL say this in its favor, though. When I went out to run an errand, I looked in my car’s rearview mirror to see if the sun would have any effect on my lip stain. Sure enough, I could see a pinky brightness that is not my normal, natural, lip color! Voila! It DOES work! It is what it says: a lip stain. It stained my lips a candy pink! Only problem with THAT is… it was supposed to be a “pale, nude pink.” Ha ha!
Oh, well, I guess it is better than nothing at all! It did not dry my lips out or irritate them, so I will keep it and use it until it is thru. However, I really don’t see myself investing in another of this kind. I will stick to MAC’s lipsticks and lipglass from now on.

This was a free gift from MAC!!! Seriously – can you believe it? MAC giving out free gifts? The company that never has GWPs, that never has sales (and is now having sales)! I guess they are feeling the heat from the competition that offers all of these… Anyway, I was given my choice of a free Versicolour (thanks for the Canadian spelling, MAC!) lip stain with my purchase recently (maybe for signing up for MAC Select?) and after trying a few of the shades on my hand, I opted for Resilient Rouge, a brilliant red in the tube though much more subdued when applied, as it was the ONLY one of those I tried that seemed to deposit any colour at all. I can understand the complaints and low rating because the other shades had virtually NO pigmentation at all. But Resilient Rouge is lovely. Lots of colour, very brightening to my face, pretty good wear-time and overall, a nice product though a bit messy to apply. In spite of the doe foot applicator, it’s liquid-y so I end up needing to use a lip brush to distribute it evenly around my mouth and I need a mirror to make sure I’ve not spread it outside my lip line, so this isn’t great for a quick touch-up. I don’t know if I’d have paid full price for this and if I had, perhaps my review would be a bit more critical but for a freebie, it’s nice and I’m happy with it.

This is rubbish was hands down the biggest waste of money that MAC has ever thrown into my face. I bought the colour “Long Live the Night” for AUD$45 and it’s the equivalent of having thrown $45 into the bin and then someone took a massive dump in the bin and set it on fire. This thing has no pigment, the brush streaks all the gloss into an uneven mess, the gloss then dissipated into nothingness. I can’t speak for other colours, they probably do something. The worst thing is, it turns my lips a deep raspberry red (which I do not want, ever), there must be some sort of weird additive in this thing.
I don’t even know what the colour is meant to be, because i see nothing on my lips.
Cons:
$45 for a gloss without colour.
Brush leaves streaks somehow.
Vile smell
It does nothing, gloss lasts 2 minutes
No stain
Pros:
???

This was a gift. I have the shade “Tattoo My Heart,” which is a bright coral rose. The lovely color is rich and initially glossy. It comes in a sleek black-and-clear cylinder with a doe’s foot applicator. The clear window allows you to see the color inside and gives you some idea of how much product is left in the container. The cylinder is wider in diameter than most lipstick tubes, so it may seem bulky when paring down to a small clutch or wristlet.
It’s a comfortable texture, similar to lip glosses but not nearly as sticky. It is more of a gel texture. There is some transfer to the cup when you drink coffee, but it leaves less behind than most creamy lipsticks. Longevity is better than that of MAC Lipglass, and when the glossy finish has rubbed off there is a soft stain on the lips. If I want to keep the color bold and fresh, I have to reapply after a few hours and certainly have to reapply after eating a full meal. I’m not really sure why companies began touting every product as long-wearing, but I am not getting anything resembling all-day wear from this. However, I am accustomed to carrying lipstick in my purse for touch-ups. I don’t find Versicolour Stain to be particularly drying. It’s more moist than a matte liquid lipstick, but definitely isn’t creamy at all. It’s fragrance free, but I find myself missing MAC’s trademark vanilla scent.
$24 for 0.28 ounces. It seems overpriced compared to MAC’s other lipstick and lip gloss prices. The color is quite flattering. I don’t love the formula enough to stock up on lots of shades, but it is interesting. To extend the wear time, I apply a waterproof lip liner first, and then apply Versicolour Stain over it. Used in conjunction with a good lip liner, it does stay on longer.

I got this lip stain in Truly Everlasting (pink coral) and I like it. I’ll wear it on top of my Nature Republic Peach Flower lip tint for some extra colour and the effect is a ‘just bitten’ look.
The packaging is cute too.
It works like the other lip stains on the market and the pigment looks darker in the tube than it does on my lips. I can add layers for more colour but it’s not the same as a cream lipstick, plus it can be drying. I wear gloss on top to compensate.
Overall, a decent product if you’re wanting a subtle lip look and it’s perfect for the summer.

I’ve worn this in the colour “It’s Neverending!” for the past three days and I’m taking it back today. It goes on glossy but that disappears quickly and then I’m left with uneven stain that collects in the corners of my mouth and in the middle of the lips. It’s not very comfortable either. I generally love stains and I like the YSL Glossy Stains of which I have three. Although the YSL ones are more expensive, they are far more comfortable and don’t go patchy.
