I have the Intense Matte pencil in both Purity and Belle. Purity was in the 3-pencil set (a total steal btw, 3 almost full size pencils for the price of 1). I liked the Intense Matte formula so much I had to snag Belle too. (The others are the Cream pencil in Sin and the Gel pencil in Pulse – out of these formulas, the Intense Matte is def the best, followed by the Gel. Didn’t love the Cream tbh. Also, I tried the Magnetic Matte and it’s SERIOUS. I hate the way it feels, but check it out for a crazy long wearing lipstick. It, like, locks onto your lips. Like a MAGNET.)
Purity is similar to MAC’s Twig + KvD Lolita, you know, that family of shades that is super versatile and popular right now. Like a deep taupe neutral rose situation. (Prob why it was chosen for the set.) I have olive skin that is pale-ish and cool-ish right now (because winter) and Purity is almost a LIP on me even though it’s technically a neutral. I like it a lot, it’s super flattering, but I do have a lot of lipsticks similar to it in color. Not its fault though. Belle, on the other hand, is slowly becoming my ride-or-die. It’s a peachy-rose-nude on me, which is a shade I keep trying to find perfect versions of. This is close. It has just the right amount of warmth to keep it from looking like a lighter Purity, but stays neutral enough to be flattering on my skintone, while still looking peachy.
I have a hard time with mattes, my lips are dry and can show texture, so liquid lipsticks are generally a no-go. I can wear a lot of MAC mattes though, and this formula is similar but juuuuust a little bit better. A note on pencil lippies you have to sharpen: I despise them in theory but love them in practice. Hate wasting product, especially when it’s pricey (ahem, Nars), but I can’t deny how easy they are to apply. The Nudestix formula is creamy, very opaque, easy and fun to apply, and really lasts. I line + fill in my lips, then rub it in to erase lip lines etc and add a light second coat. That’s the way I find it looks best on me. It differs from MAC in that it stays slightly tacky, but not in an uncomfortable way. The MAC mattes have a slippier, silicone-y texture (the good ones at least, the bad ones are hell on lips) that helps them wear just a tad bit better, and they seem slightly less drying, but Nudestix requires less babysitting throughout the day. They wear off elegantly, you can reapply over the previous coat and it looks fine but I generally prefer to wipe off and start over for less lip texture. Adding a gloss looks great too.
Ummm so you ever wonder just how much thought you can put into a lipstick review??!! Lmao. Anyway, I REALLY recommend these if you have a hard time with mattes, it’s just a really nice, elegant formula. A formula you can trust! Belle is going to look incredible come summer with bronzer, a bronze-y gold smokey eye, and highlighter up the wazoo. The packaging is nice but kind of excessive; I do really appreciate the sharpener. It’s a good one. There aren’t that many shades I want from the line though. However, if you have darker skin, there are several beautiful colors that would make a great nude lip! And a couple reds that look really nice. Do I need another red lipstick? Hmmm..

I LOVE the nudstix lip (and cheek) intense matte lip pencils, so this review is for the general formula as well as this particular shade (which I just happen to be wearing today)!. Like most people, I’m trying to find some alternatives to my liquid lipsticks since they can be taxing on my lips if I use them day in and day out in these Canadian winters. Enter these amazing pencils. It’s almost like the product is melting onto your lips as you apply and they last amazingly well without sucking the life out of your lips. They don’t last as long as a liquid lipstick of course, but they fade really nicely and reapply like a dream (again, imagine melting your lip colour onto your lips but with the precision of a pencil). Purity is a nice neutral medium/deep brown that I would imagine is flattering on a wide variety of skin tones. It’s perfect for fall and again, I can’t get enough of this formula. Savings tip: they always seem to have pencil sets where you can get 3 colours (almost full size.. 2.5g vs. 2.8g) for the price of 1. I really like the tins and sharpener that comes with them (even individually), although like the other reviewer said, it adds up a lot over time and I feel like it’s a bit wasteful for their returning customers.
Note I like his formula a lot more than their magnetic matte lip pencils. Those are more drying and more reminiscent of a liquid lipstick. Still a good product because I can get better precision when applying but it’s not as revolutionary to me as this formula is. Also shoutout to the brand that’s parabens and cruelty free!

This pencil is intense and it is matte! It’s a beautiful MLBB neutral rose shade that’s just a bit darker than my natural lip color. It applies easily and accurately (love the pencil component) and, once on your lips, stays there without bleeding. It has real staying power, but when it begins to wear off, it does so evenly and leaves a pretty stain behind. Because it’s truly matte it’s a bit drying, but using a good lip balm underneath helps, and it stands up to a couple of applications of lip balm on top. I have not tried this on cheeks, so I can’t comment on that use. I love Nudestix products–not one has disappointed me, and they make applying makeup a breeze–but I wish they offered the pencils without the boxes. The boxes are great–they’re very sturdy, you can carry enough pencils to do your whole face in one of them, and they have a really good-quality mirror–but if you keep buying the products, they pile up. Despite that, though, I would repurchase.
