i’ll be honest — i threw this stuff away (and kept the little brush!)
i have other lip tars such as black dahlia, which is a gorgeous color with a horrible tendency to bleed and not apply evenly unless you really put some effort into it (something i hate to need to do with lipsticks.) i guess for that one you really need some clear lip liner or a good primer.
this is color is just so hideous on me, i couldn’t deal. i don’t know if it’s skintone or what, but i cannot hang with this lip tar. formula wise, it’s pretty amazing in terms of staying power (sadly, i could not stand having it on my lips for more than a few minutes.)
the tube i got smelled kind of like the castor oil or whatever they use had gone rank and they just covered up the smell with some peppermint oil, but it had staying power and non-bleeding power. whyyyy can’t you do the same thing with black dahlia which i would wear every 90’s goth day of my life, OCC?
it’s a bizarre, “fall” metallic bronzey orange. you can try to thin it out and tone it down as much as you want, but it just doesn’t happen. i wish i could have mixed this and made it my own, but that orange was so dang strong, as well as the shimmer. the shimmer is insane! it’s like you’ve been rolling your face around in a plate of mica powder haha. i can see this being beautiful on one thousand and one women, but not me! if you can really work a true, orange-toned bronze, this could be your perfect lip tar!
if you do a quick google img search for this, you’ll find that it looks AMAZING on some women and just awful on others. i am in that “other” category! i would enclose a picture, but seriously, nooooo. if i had skin that could handle this orange, i’d rock it hard.
i feel bad giving something a less-than-stellar review because the color is awful! i’ll add on a third star because the lip tar is not AT ALL runny or anything with bleeding tendencies, and the color, as hideous as it is on me, stays on strong and seemingly forever. it’s one of their better formulas, one of their worse colors.
