This is a great find from Wet n Wild. I was looking for a nice rose/mauve shade and this fits the bill. So easy to use without a mirror. Just test run because I put too much on and it got bright fast. But other that that, this is a great product. Going to suggest this one to my Mom!

I have mixed feelings on this: as a colored gloss stick or balm, I very much like it. It’s a good natural color for me, not far off my moderately pigmented lips (muted cool pink-mauve). It has good pigmentation and no discernable shimmer.
The downside: it doesn’t show up much as a stain on me, leaving a barely noticeable (but attractive) straight pink wash.
Overall, it’s a decent product for the price, but might be a disappointment if you already have a lot of color to your lips or are TRULY are in search of a stain.

I have all (I think?) of these lip balm stains every single color coz I decided I one day I kinda woke up deciding I would collect at least 1 of every wnw lip color available at Kroger except for the MegaLast & the natural lip balms coz I don’t like them but it just seemed like a good fun idea (& feasible, coz collecting 1 of every MAC lipstick is financially unattainable for me) coz I like all the wnw lippies I’ve tried. Anyhoo …. Rico Mauve is a pink brown MLBB but it fades (the term “fade” used loosely!) well imparts a bright stain when the glossiness has worn off. Hey ur getting 2 colors for the price of 1 lol try to think of it like that a way. Glass half full…I personally don’t want MAC Candy Yum Yum lips. If I did, I’d wear CYY, but I like the MLBB component of Rico Mauve. The stain is loud & screechy but the initial color is really gr8. caveat emptor!

I’m really enjoying this so far. The colour goes on relatively muted and stains a bright almost fuschia pink. I know a lot of people have indicated they’re not find of the stain but I like it. To be honest, I think I like it a bit better. It’s long lasting which is great because I’m lazy and don’t like having to reapply. Because it’s long wearing, it’s a bit drying but nothing over the top. I wear conditioning lip balm to bed at night and all is well in the morning. It’s comfortable to wear which is important. I’ve worn other long wearing lip products that were super uncomfortable and really dried out my lips. This is not the case with this particular lip balm. For the price you can’t go wrong.

Good formula, color didn’t ring true for me.
I gravitate toward light mauve shades and rarely stray. I thought this would be a nice base stain color to top with clear balm throughout the day. However, my experience with Wet N Wild lip products is that the mauves translate to a bright pink on me – and this one was no different. It was simply too pink and obviously lipstick-y for me.
The formula was fine. Not drying like many stains are, but not moisturizing like a true balm. Goes on smoothly, not sticky, with a bit of shine. No scent or flavor that I could detect. The big crayon makes application super easy. The stain lasts pretty decently, especially for the price point – several hours (tested with a lot of talking and a little bit of eating/drinking). Comparable to the Revlon balm stain crayons at a fraction of the price.
Overall, the color didn’t work for me but the formula was pretty good for $2!

I love this product! I bought it because of course, I wanted a my lips but better color and it gives me that result. There is no offensive smell to this, it’s lightweight, and it has a slightly cooling sensation much like the Revlon Balm Stains but much cheaper! Like others have mentioned, the stain left behind is brighter and pinker but I personally don’t mind the brighter color and I actually think it’s pretty. I’ve repurchased it 2x because it livens up my face for class or any place I don’t want to wear another lip shade.

I was impressed with the consistency and quality of this balm stain The mauve was a little brighter than expected, as was the stain, but the quality was very good. Upon initial application, the color lasted for a couple of hours, and the stain lasted for several hours longer. I will definitely try other colors from this line.

The color that was advertised was not the color that it stained. It was a hot pink. Wish I read these reviews first.

I like this ok. The packaging is absolute garbage though and that is enough for me to not repurchase. The color is pretty however the lasting power just isn’t there.

It come on as a neutral mauve color. Very pretty it is most moisturizing. Like other reviewers have said it does stain a completely different color. It stains a bright pink. I have gotten compliments on both the original color when put on at first and the color it stains. If the stain is too bright for you, you can tone it down with a milky pink lipgloss or a neutral lipgloss.
