I like this primer underneath my lipstick. It does provide SUBTLE plumping (don’t expect anything crazy) and increases the staying power of my lipsticks. I find it somewhat difficult to put on if you lips are dry because it is a hard, waxy consistency. I also don’t think that it helps fill in the lines on my lips like lip tar or more high end lip primers. I would probably get this ago though just for the staying power.

I’ve been looking forward to trying the Sally Hansen plumping lip primer for a while now, ‘ooh have you tried that Sally Hansen thing?!’ I was bombarded with and every time my answer was ‘…no’. So instead of feeling left out and deprived of a good lip primer, I decided that I should just give into becoming a stereotype and just by this ‘holy’ seeming lip plumper. I paid less than £5 for it. I found it a bit difficult to buy and ended up having it sent to me from the Channel Islands and boy was I surprised at the results! So it has a simple yet informative packaging which has lots of writing such as ‘lasts 2x longer!’ On it. The primer is in a twisty tube with a lid (obviously) and is nice and slim so can be easily transported around. The texture of the primer is waxy and slightly thick and more difficult to apply compared to lip balms such as the maybelline baby lips, and is clear in colour. It’s a pretty moisturising lip product and when a ‘top coat’ is applied to it, has a nice consistency and feels good on the lips. I put the Yves Saint Laurent Volupte lipstick over it and it felt amazing! So far I’ve had this on for two hours now and it has lasted longer but has faded a bit. It’s definitely lasted longer with the lip primer and although it has faded (probably due to eating waffles and drinking some water, which shows just how well it does stay on) , my lips feel incredibly moisturised and I feel as though I’ve just put the lip primer on again! Do I recommend this product? Yes I do! Would I buy it again? Yes I would!!

I’d just ordered a lip primer the day before, and then I found this one on clearance (75% off) at cvs….I haven’t been able to find a toxicity report yet, but the ingredients looked pretty good so I figured since the other one I ordered was going to be my first-ever primer, I’d at least have something to compare it to.
I really, really like it. It feels good going on, and it also feels good once it’s on. My lips always seem to have a bit of chap, no matter if I exfoliate and use a good moisturizer on them, esp throughout the day, and esp when I’ve been wearing lipstick. Those factors are what got me interested in getting a lip primer.
When I’m using this, my lipstick adheres much easier, and much more smoothly and evenly. And it also wears off in a nicer more subtle way than would if hasn’t been using this.
