   Um hate to be such a Debbie Downer for a well reviewed product but have to write this to seal the memory. So I have pretty dry and sensitive lips, normally any kind of Blistex work just fine for me but sometimes my lips kind of get used to it (??? at least I think they do) and I give a try to some other brands in between. Nothing worked to be honest but my Blistex works better after these lip disasters, oddly enough.
   To the product. It was so BAD on my lips, absolute disaster! Dried them to almost death and cracked one corner of my mouth TWICE to the nasty condition. First when it happened I didn’t think it was because of this balm, blamed the wind and fall. I was just started to use it, in one week left corner got cracked then I went on a trip and took another lip balm and the cracks healed within 3 days. So by my return I’ve decided to continue to use Lypsyl and it cracked my poor mouth again much worse than first time. Stopped using it – now my mouth is kind of healed but it took 2 weeks this time.
   One more thing, I had the newer version with a purple cap and the SMELL…such a strong chemical odor, and the worst part it didn’t go for a while once you applied it. Brrrr…
   Normally, I hate to throw away new products just try to use it somewhere else like I did with Nivea balm in a tin pot ( use it for cuticles or dry elbows) but this one was too bad to keep. Sorry, Lypsyl, you’ve failed me 🙁

   I love this lipstick. It moisturizes my lips and it also has spf. I only found one on wallgreens (after visiting lots of wallgreens and walmarts). I then realized it had expired on july. I use it but i dont know if the spf is working (maybe expiration date is just mandatory but not true).

   Just a disclaimer – this is the more ‘natural’ version of the Lypsyl balms. The original one has mineral oil as the first ingredient, which I personally stay away from.

   I’m powering through my second tube of this stuff. It’s the only lip balm that really hydrates my lips during the harsh winter months. The ingredients are really good too. Not getting any ‘berry’ vibes, but it’s a nice scent/taste nonetheless.

   The packaging is adorable and I love the flat oval shape for my lips. This also works great if you are prone to coldsores. This doesn’t claim to eliminate/alleviate cold sores that I’m aware of, but it really helped ease the pain of the last one I had.

   My lips have been unusually dry this winter & the products I already own weren’t working. I bought this & have used it a few times per day & my lower lip no longer has a hard dry flakey patch. The scent is nice, light & I only notice it when I first apply it. It’s not as waxy as a regular chapstick, but I can tell there is a wax protectant. It goes on with a medium, not thick & waxy & not thin/slippery, finish. Last about 3 hrs. before I need to apply again. Mostly, I recommend this is you’re having a problem with dry, hardening flakey lips. It worked for me in under a week. I live near the NE coast.

   After a frigid day out in DC my lips were chapped to the point of splitting. I was using everything from my trusty Burts Bee’s to straight cocoa butter to olive oil and nothing was getting the job done. Had never seen this brand before but was looking around the chapstick isle yesterday in Walmart to see if anything looked good and decided to try this. About $2.50 and seems to be a bigger tube than regular chapstick. Put on a thick layer last night before bed and my lips were completely repaired this morning!! As someone else mentioned, it’s more lubricating than waxy, has a nice sheen and seems to bring out the natural pink of my lips. Absolute new fav and will recommend/purchase again.

   I love this chapstick!

   Here’s why:

   I have chronically chapped lips, and have for years. I’ve tried just about every possible chapstick–blistex dct, aquaphor, nivea, burts bees, eos…the list goes on. And it’s not just the winter, the summer too. My lips get chapped and start peeling. It seemed like chapstick made my lips better for a few hours and my lips would quickly start feeling chapped/peeling again, and nothing was helping. Labello honey chapstick was my favorite, but is really difficult to find since it’s a European brand.

   So I got really frustrated and spent like 5 hours one night doing research to try to figure out what would help. A lot of people said there was just no cure and literally nothing works. There was a lot of evidence that conventional chapsticks actually just made things worse by making your lips dependent on them. There were actually a few ingredients in typical chapsticks that irritate lips and can dry them out. For instance, menthol is bad for your lips and is in a lot of chapsticks because it gives that tingly feeling. There are certain ingredients that are good for your lips–cocoa butter, vitamin e, coconut oil, jojoba oil, beeswax, etc. Natural moisturizing ingredients are the best option, rather than all the fake chemical stuff that is in most.

   So I went to several drugstores and looked at the ingredients of everything. I couldn’t find a single chapstick that didn’t contain petroleum, menthol, or some ingredient with a scientific name I couldn’t pronounce. I ended up getting coconut oil–I used regular nivea moisturizer (not balm) and put coconut oil on top. It definitely helped, but it wasn’t something I could do on the go, only morning and night.

   I randomly came across this one during a trip to the drugstore during lunch hour and was amazed to find that it was made of completely natural ingredients! The only problem with the regular one was the menthol, but the intense protection honeyberry has both spf and no menthol, so I picked it up. I’ve been hooked since! It smooths out my lips so well, and they don’t go right back to being chapped once it wears off. So happy I found this.

   Second tube. I think this is the first lip balm that I’ve ever used all of. The ingredients are nice (lots of oils), the scent is pretty true to claim, and it moisturizes. When my lips were dry and chapped from neglect, this is what got them back to normal. It feels like a normal lip balm, but I think it works just a bit better. It also gives my lips a subtle sheen, which is an added bonus.

   I do really like this stuff and have been putting it on like crazy because of the winter months. It’s not waxy and it’s not oily, but do wish it was a little more balmy because I like to have a thick layer on my lips especially in the winter. I love that it has SPF and the flavor isn’t bad. It can get annoying afterwhile but I much prefer it to something that smells like toothpaste. The tube is a little bulky, but easier for me to find in my jacket or purse. Overall, I really do like this lipbalm and sad that I can only get it at certain stores. I am hooked.

   I loved this lipbalm so much that I bought six tubes to give away for Christmas. Now that I’ve had it for almost a year, I think I can do a better review:

   Pros:
   – very moisturizing for me, though this can vary for others
   – has an oily feel. Is NOT waxy
   – convenient tube, easy to use
   – has natural ingredients which don’t matter to me but someone else may care

   Cons:
   – expensive for a drugstore brand, considering the small amount of product
   – sometimes doesn’t moisturize, and I need to fall back on Chapstick
   – fruity smell is strong and sometimes bothersome

   However, Chapstick is cheaper and also works for me. The main reason I will purchase again is because I keep losing my Chapstick, but I have never lost my Lypsyl. Good luck charm? I think so. 🙂
   (Actually, I think it’s because of the bulky shape)

   Bottom Line: If you already love your lip balm, you have no reason to try this. It’s not anything special, just a pricier option.

    I love this!! It makes my lips feel so smooth and it makes them look a little pink (in a good, natural way). I will definitely buy this again. The SPF protects my lips really well, too.
