I’ve tried a lot of lip scrubs: Lush, Jeffree Star, Clinique, Bath and Body Works, ELF, Body Shop, on and on. They usually cost about $20 for a small pot. Jeffree Star’s have been the most aesthetically pleasing and tasting so far, but pretty expensive for the amount.
While out getting a few other skin products, stumbled across this one at Bealls. The brand is relatively new the attendant told me, and included five flavors of lip scrubs, bath bombs and exfoliating products and more. I saw this and decided to skip the Clinique Sweet Pot and give it a try.
It is a pretty large pot, about the size of a standard face cream. For $5 and that much product, it’s a steal. The label and lid are plain, not fancy at all. Very basic. I appreciate the jar being glass. Gives it a luxury weight and an organic appeal. The packaging looks very homemade-folksy.
The product tastes like heaven. I have caught myself wanting to use it just to taste it. The ingredients are natural and the emollient used is shea butter. It works great and leaves my lips very smooth.
My one and only complaint is that the consistency is a little dry. I added some olive oil to the top of the pot and mixed it in, and it’s applying better and crumbling less. For $5 compared to $20-24, I’m hooked. Will be trying new flavors.
