I like the colour (16 Pretty Mauve) and the texture. It is somewhat on the softer side, but it still applies evenly, nicely and smoothly. Unfortunately, it lasts only a couple of hours and then it starts to disappear. Will not repurchase.

Love this lipliner. By German brand Alverde, purchased this at drugstore DM.
The pricing is unbeatable and the color payoff s great. Staying power could be a little better. Overall, easy to use and not much to complain about. I have the shade Pretty Mauve, a beautiful color that goes with a lot of nude and mauve lipsticks.
Pro:
– good color payoff
– cruelty free
– super cheap
Con:
– staying power could be improved

This is a good basic, soft and pigmented lip pencil that needs sharpening. It is very cheap costs only 3 euros and I can fill in my lips with it. It comes with just 4 colors but it is Bio natural non toxic brand and good enough for me.

A really good lipliner that competes with other that are twice the price – I bought the NUDE because I was trying to save money, it was there, and I didn’t expect much.
VERY PLEASANTLY SURPRISED – a perfect nude colour for fair skin, dark hair (not too brown, not to coral – a true pink/beige blend) – which is a skin/hair combo not always easy to shop for.
Lasts long and goes on pretty well – did have to add some lip balm but amazed how it stayed. Won’t find better at this price!

I have the lipliner in Spice and I find the formula great. It’s a little dry but not so dry that the product doesn’t go on nicely. It probably helps the product to stay on longer as well. I plan on going back to get Demure or Buff because I am in need of a more nude colour.

Very poor quality (but what else can you expect from cheap drugstore brands?).
I have 140 Fuschia which I thought would complement my red lip sticks, but it’s horribly short-lasting and does not give enough coverage. I have to drag it across my lips so many times just to get a solid colour.
I usually like to colour in my lips with lip liner as a base, but this one does not allow me to. It’s as dry as the pencil crayons you used as a child.

Review for colour BUFF.
My lips are a murky uneven mauve that turns everything brown. This is the only nude liner I’ve ever tried that lets me achieve that peachy nude retro lip. I am amazed at the quality and performance of this lip liner. It looks expensive and lasts forever!

This is the best lip liner available in Canadian drugstores. I have re-purchased Flame twice so far. It is the lip-liner for all my red lipsticks. Does not budge and is beautiful. I also own Spice which is beautiful neutral and can be used alone a top of lip gloss. I use the Essence pencil sharpener which is under 4 dollars.

These lip liners are terrific. I’ve repeatedly bought Cherry & Crimson over the years. I’ve also used Secret (quite like MAC Plum) & Venus. Can’t go wrong for the price. I find the quality very similar to MACs.

I got silk that is a mauve-nude lip liner.goes on smoothly and stays on fairly long. It goes well with mauve-nude lipsticks. Like fairest nude by l’oreal or airy fairy by rimmel. Love it!

These go on beautifully! The color is so rich. I own sand and it is phenomonal! The price is low but the quality is high

i wish the staying power would be better, but is still quite good!

This, along with my Philosophy skincare, is something i CANNOT be without–the nude and mocacchino liners are the very best–the price, the quality, the color, the staying power–I am one that feels naked without lipliner on–and just LOVE these–they are more difficult for me to find, but I’ve resorted to ordering them online and stocking up 🙂 LOVE THEM!!!

I was looking a new “nude look” lipliner …. sometime I forget about what I already have … I looked and looked but all lipliners were too orangy or too such of a “brick” color or too pinkish …. so I came back home, started looking at the ones I already have … and I had a pleasant surprise!! I love the Mochaccino color for my nude look! I have olive skin tone and a lighter color wouldn’t look right on me, I put this one on with a very light lipgloss and it works great for me!!
pacifiedCaviar2
mochaccino is best shade ever-looks great with sheer pinky-nude gloss..

I must own 496872510058365482653087272 of these liners !!!!!!! The quality is great and so is the price :o)

I have this in russian bordeaux. It is a cool burgundy red. I didn’t realize at first that they are smear and waterproof until I actually tested them on my hand and did not wipe them off immediately. I really had to run them with soap and water to get all the swatches off from eye and lip pencils. I was going to buy MAC lip pencil in Whirl or Soar from the airport but unfortunately I did not have accessoires to mac store in that part of the airport where I was. So in my home city Oulu I found a Make up store. I am in love with this pencil. I am happy I got this instead of MAC pencil because these are better. The MAC lipliner pencil costs also 15.50 and so did this one. I think I am going back for more lip and eye pencils before I fly back to the Netherlands.
peskyFlamingo4
I have this in ”Russian” and I want to love it, but I really don’t. The colour is a classic neutral-cool matte bright red that is very pretty. It is very creamy and applies easily but leaves my lips looking dry and emphasises -every- imperfection. The main problem however is that it starts to bleed in a mere couple of hours, and smears at the slightest touch. A lip pencil is not supposed to bleed! It is supposed to prevent bleeding.
Conclusion: Make up store has some good products, this is -not- one of them.

SB just added “clear” to their selection of nudes. Love it. You an wear any color of lipstick and no liner look!
empathicBurritos3
I have this lipliner in Medium. As a WOC I find it hard to wear certain lipsticks and lipglosses because my highly pigmented lips will show through the color. This lipliner matched my lips to give me a nice, even color. It works well under lipsticks and no pigmentation shows through. The color is very, very matte. I recommend something moisturizing underneath. I don’t know if I’ll be repurchasing but I do really like this product.
panickyPoultry2
I purchased this lip pencil in ‘fair’ and am so glad I didn’t opt for the ‘light’ one. It matches my lips perfectly and wears really well. I’ve used it with sheer glosses, red lipstick and on it’s own and I have absolutely no complaints. It is a bit pricey but the use I get out of it is totally worth it.

I have this in Nude Rose. It’s a good match for my lip colour, which allows me to use it to correct the contour and fill in to even out the top colour. It goes on easily and has really good staying power, good base for lipstick too. The problem that makes me not give it a full five and make me repurchase is that it’s way too drying on my lips, so I can’t fill them with this liner. It’s a good product but not for me, who has an unfortunate tendency to have chapped lips, worsened by living in a cold, dry climate. A bit expensive, but you get what you pay for.

I have been using this lipliner in “light” for about 1 month now. I love, love, love it! Lipliner can be tricky, and I have tried so many. I have been reaching for this everyday! It may just be my HG. Very good staying power and easy to apply. It really blends well with my natural lip color. The price is reasonable and I will repurchase when I am out!
finickyGranola9
This is for the “Double Take” lip color, I love this product. It is the perfect red (cranberry) lasts forever. The product is smooth and creamy. The price is a little expensive $24 CDN but totally worth the price.

I found this at Ulta about 6 months ago. I am very pale, with pink lips, and am always looking for a perfect almost nude lipliner. This is about as close to perfect as I’ve come so far. It is a light rose color, and looks beautiful, natural, and very complimentary to my skin tone. I am almost out, and, while the hunt is still on for my HG lipliner, I will repurchase when I do run out. I use this every day to add a little shape and loveliness to my rather thin, pale lips.

One of these Jesse’s Girl lipliners, the shade Naked, is one of my HG lipliners.
I wear it underneath ELF Matte Lipstick in Praline, and it’s the perfect nude shade for me. It’s not too pink, but it’s slighlty darker than my actual lip color, so it’s perfect.
I love this shade of liner so much that I buy them two at a time. My RiteAid (the only drugstore that carries the Jesse’s Girl line) never stocks this color, so I buy it at a specific RiteAid on the outskirts of the city where my boyfriend lives. My local drugstores are notorious for not carrying specific products. It is extremely annoying.
Anyways, I discovered this color while on the hunt to find a liner to match with Milani’s wonderful lip color, Teddy Bare. This one looked like a likely candidate, and I threw one in my bag. I swatched it on my hand and was surprised by the color. It’s really gorgeous. It’s a very pretty dusty, dark pink. It almost doesn’t show up on my skin, but I love it for when I want to wear a nude lip. I tried wearing it underneath Teddy Bare, but I highly prefer it with Praline, the ELF matte lipstick I described above. It’s a very non-obvious, work appropriate nude color that I absolutely adore. Alone, the Jesse’s Girl would barely show up and would match my lip color, but the ELF Praline has a hint of brown in it that just looks awful if I wear it alone. Together, this combination is magic.
At only $1.99, it’s a steal. The packaging is just plain, with the color on the pencil itself in white writing and a cheapie cap that also comes with a built-in sharpener.
The only thing about this color is that there’s ANOTHER shade called Naked in this line, and it looks like the same color, but it’s very different. The other Naked is more reddish, and it has a coppery shimmer to it. I don’t know how this happened, but it’s really easy to mix up the two unless you’re in really excellent lighting. I’ve almost bought the other Naked color on several occasions but then gone outside and checked it against the real one, and low and behold, it’s different. I just hold the bottom of the pencils up to the light and that usually shows me which is the one that I prefer. They are stocked together in the same case and also have the same barcode number, but make sure you check if you do buy this shade. I’m not sure why this happens, but it’s an easy mistake to make.

My favorite lip liner was Rimmel’s 1,000 kisses in the color “Cherry Kiss.” It was the perfect color because it went with both red and pink lipsticks. Ever since I discovered that Rimmel tests on animals I stopped buying it and began my search for a dupe and THIS IS IT!!!
It has good pigmentation, the pencil formula isn’t too soft or too firm so it applies easily but its not too soft/creamy to where it bleeds. I love this color, it goes with reds and pinks. Read my full review here –

I got this at Rite Aid for 1.99, I loved it when I first got it but now it seems like they’ve changed the shade.. It used to be more of a hot pink or something, very nice lip staining pencil.. True to my lip color.. Now, it is more of a light neutral pink shimmer. I don’t think it lines my lips as well as the original version but it is still nice I guess.

I bought this in Cherry. I don’t usually wear bright red lipstick so I colour in my lips lightly and put Vaseline or any clear lipgloss on top, mix them to combine and I have a long-lasting cherry colour. Lasts longer since it’s a liner pencil, better than even a stain from the Body Shop. But sometimes if I colour it in stronger it’ll just be a great red lip.

this product in the color nude was too brown and dark on me (see my pics for skin tone)..iam very pale (translucent w blue undertones)
good stayin power however

I have NC15 skin and magenta lips when ‘au naturelle’! I use a makeup base for a neutral primer and for a polished look I like to use a lipliner lightly applied all over my lips and then a gloss or lipstick over top.
I have found that lipliners advertised as non-sharpening such as Avon’s, Rimmel’s, or MAC’s, to be too much like a lipstick in consistency so that., whereas they glide on smoothly they really don’t help much with bleeding outside the lipline or helping gloss or lippies last longer. The pencil-type lipliners work better but pull and tug the lips and tend to go on unevenly.
ANNABELLE lip liners are the pencil kind that you have to sharpen. They are just creamy enough to slide on beautfully without tugging but solid enough to prevent lipstick from wandering all over your face and makes your lippie long lasting.
I have two:
SPICE – which is a soft nude pink. Not orange, not too pink. A great base for a soft nude look or to make a stronger gloss or lipstick last longer.
PLUM – dark and purple. No red. No orange. Used with a light touch under plum sheer gloss or lipstick gives a long lasting very polished look.
The BEST lipliners I have ever used. Period. I am a consumer only and have no vested interested in Annabelle products other than the fact that I happen to love their lipliners!!

I LOVE these lipliners. My favorite is in Fleur which is the absolute perfect color for me. They go on so easy and blend very well. It’s a must have for me and you can’t beat the price.

This stuff is poor quality. It doesn’t go on smoothly and it fades fast. It looks cheap. I tried for a couple of weeks to make it work, but I ended up just throwing it away.

I have this in eggplant, which I fill in my lips with and top with a gloss I got from VS. And it looks fabulous on my mocha/cocoa brown skin. It has great staying power through eating and drinking. This is an awesome drugstore find, better than other top names that I’ve tried.

I BOUGHT THE LIP LINER FOR FAIR SKINTONE. I LOVE IT A LOT. IT IS A GREAT PINK/NUDE COLOR. I LINE MY LIPS WITH AND PUT GLOSS ON TOP BUT NOT ALWAYS. BUT BEST OF ALL WHENEVER I WEAR IT MY HUSBAND’S EYES LIGHT UP AND HE SAYS “WOW”.

I’m writing this review for the dark tone, which looks fantastic to shade over the nude tone to add dimension to the lips, but also used separately as an eyeliner. I was searching for a warm reddish/brown eyeliner that stayed put!! and had zero luck until I purchased this solely for the eye. It looks very natural and the reddish/purple tones (as it’s more of a plum brown than a red) make my green eyes stand out with out drawing attention to my eyeliner itself. I wear this smudged out for a romantic, warm brown eye look, with reddish brown lipstick and a doll-like flushed cheek. As an eyeliner this pairs well with MAC’s Folie.
Of course you know not to transition back and forth from lips to mouth, so I’ve got one for each, and on the lips this wears and wears and offers depth and grounds some of my brighter tones and assists in shaping and defining my lips when blended into a nude liner.
Great product all round! Would definitely repurchase (have!)

Smashbox just released a line of nude lip pencils based on the color of your lips/skin. There are four different shades, fair, light, medium and dark. I tried the fair and the light and I didn’t like either. The fair was too much of a cool pink for my warm undertones and the light was too brown and dark for a nude lip. I finally found my HG nude lip liner in MAC Summerfruit.
I did like the quality of the Smashbox nude liner, it was creamy, glided on smoothly and had a good staying power. There just wasn’t a good color for me in this collection.
