to me lips category in makeup is the hardest so finding this one was a Godsend. lol.
review of shade: Bois de Rose
I feel like it would work with most skin colors, except really light or really dark ones, unless you love this kind of shade. then go for it! 😀 I love it!!
I use it as a lipstick. I have small lips and love to line and fill in at the same time.
it’s a brown-ish nude dark-ish shade but that can still be light somewhat. works well alone but I found application is much quicker,easier and hydrating with lip balm and some hydrating lip tint underneath [i use an Alvin D’or lipstick(Lebanese too I think) as a lip stain because it’s sheer a bit shimmery and pinkish and brightens the lipliner also hydrates well] , to brighten and make it supple, because lip liner dries down, comfortably, to a 100% matte effect even with lip balm under and over it. so after a half hour or hour of being out and about it’s matte and locked in.
NO ONE!! is talking about this, not even where I live, there are two retailers for this product in my hometown only!! but to me it’s HG of nude lipstick/liner. I did find a Maybelline Color Drama big lip liner in nude that seems close as a shade but when I swatched it it was much creamier than this one. much more shimmery. this one is perfect for work days where you don’t want any glitz or shimmer. also I use it whenever I want to feel the most comfortable, if I’m sick, in a rush etc etc…
it’s solidly a classic lipliner with classic packaging, a crayon encased in wood,very minimal fragrance, almost none, no shimmer, price is a steal 3.33$ and LASTS AGES. [one of this lipliner, even with use, lasts a year and some ] hardly needs to be sharpened much, you save tons of it, and on the lips it lasts hours even with drinking and eating [provided the food is not TOO greasy and oily ] but I actually ate liquidy fruits the other day and drank so much water and was shocked when I came back home and it was still there o.o and even on days where it fades, it fades beautifully, from the inside out.
it’s even better than my bourjois lipliner.[which fades in the same way but is not nearly as easy to use as Akira ] but much more limited shade range. only two more lip liners other than this bois de rose.[ which I’m now curious about because i haven’t swatched those]
there isn’t even an official website for the brand!! o.o but I think it’s sold in Lebanon and Nigeria. they belong to the same group that does the Lebanese Dali Cosmetics I think.
