This lipliner pretty much blew me away when I first applied it (didn’t get a chance to swatch in the store because the packaging was sealed), because to date it is the ONLY lipliner that is near enough to my actual lip color to look natural, while still pigmented enough to add some dimension and make my lips look fuller. I slightly overline them, but because they’re rather pale I always had to pair my lipliners with a matching lipstick or it would be very obvious.
So, this is a game changer for me personally, and to top it off it stays on and doesn’t dry out my lips. It is, I would say a somewhat pale warm nude that ventures on peachy. It is not a concealer-lips nude shade, it is a realistic nude shade that matches my natural lips, maybe just half a shade darker. Because of that, I can see myself getting tons of use out of this and pairing it with any number of lipsticks or glosses. If you have darker lips, it would still be worth it to buy this to pair with lighter nude or pink lip colors.
For the price of like $8, so many makeup frustrations were resolved in one brief drugstore visit. I’m so happy I took a chance on one more nude lipliner; even though I have about a million, this ended up being the one I needed!

I bought this because the color I usually buy (mauve) was out of stock. I really needed a nude-ish lipliner so I reluctantly bought this one. I was worried because when I tend to buy nude lipliners, they end up looking like concealer on me. My lips are pigmented and are naturally a rosy mauve color. I was pleasantly surprised by this one! It’s actually darker than my lips, the texture and pigmentation are great, and the price is not bad. I still like the mauve color better, but I think I will keep buying both for my collection.

I decided to try Revlon Colorstay Lip Liner and Lipstick because I’ve reach the dreaded 5-0 and my lips are bleeding (I refuse to have a trout pout). It was a toss up between Natural and Blush, and since I couldn’t test either color, I chose the lighter (less pink) shade of Natural.
I read all of the reviews. I was expecting a lip liner that was going to be very hard to apply. I opened the package and was pleasantly surprised. The shade of Natural is a pale shade, but it’s not pink, which is perfect for me. I have yellow orange skin tone, don’t suntan and I look best in warm shades. This lip liner glides right on my lips. Maybe, I got lucky and got a brand new one straight from the factory. No clumping on my lips at all. I applied Revlon Colorstay lipstick (Endless Spice and Bare Maximum ~ see separate reviews) over the lip liner. So, I cannot say for sure how long the lip liner lasted.
I haven’t tried it with plain lipgloss yet, which is my next test to see if my lipgloss will run feather and run all over my mouth. I’ll update this review if it does…

The color of the pencil is not as dark as the color on the cap indicates. The main problem, however, is that the crayon pencil is so hard that it doesn’t work as a liner.

This is the perfect lip liner for me. I normally look somewhat garish with lipliner on as I am very pale, but this shade is very natural looking and blends in perfectly with my skin tone. You can’t really see it from a distance at all, but up close when applied in the mirror it just very softly accentuates my natural lip line. Very pretty for a natural and nude look. Yes, I would most definitely re-purchase this item again. Staying power is pretty good too.

The texture is def. good. I don’t have complaints about that. Yet, the color doesnt show on my medium shade lips.

I was interested in trying this lipliner as an everyday lipliner that is long lasting. The color is a warm, soft pink. Its actually the same shade as my lips, but slightly warmer. I have to run it along my lip line quite a few times to build the color, or else it just blends in with my lips and doesnt do anything. Its definitely a color that makes my lips look a little fuller (by slightly going outside my lip line). The formula is very dry and really does feel like I melted a crayon and lined my lips with it (lol).. I do find it to be slightly longer lasting than other lip liners. For ref, I like this better than MAC Subculture l/l. Swatched next to eachother they look almost identical except Revlon has a little bit more of a yellow undertone.

I really wish there were testers for these lip liners. I purchased the #685 Natural, & while it looked like a nice pale pink/beige, when applied around my lips it appeared more of a pale peach. It does however, seem to keep your lipstick from bleeding & has tremendous staying power — which is a plus. The search is still on for me though to find the perfect pale pinky/beige lip liner.

I love this pencil, too. The color is very light. Not in a chalky sense, but in the sense that it goes very well under clear/barely tinted gloss w/o changing the color but it gives the gloss something to hold on to. I also wish it was a bit creamier (like the MUFE ones), but still, it’s a very good prod.
By the way, mine has a sharpener at the end. I wouldn’t have guessed it if I didn’t read it in the carton. So yes, you can sharpen it. 😉

I bought this to pair it with Colorstay Smooth Nude lipstick and it is a great match. The color totally blends with my lips and works great for nude shades of lipsticks because they don’t normally cover the edges of my lips. This have fixed the problem.
I wish the pencil was a bit creamier and softer but it was still worth getting as I don’t usually come across nude drugstore pencils. This pencil does the job. I also love the fact that it is automatic and doesn’t need sharpening. I will repurchase if I don’t find anything better.
