i received this gloss as a birthday freebie. the color is meh; i guess i should’ve selected something lighter and more spring-like. they have improved the packaging so the dreaded brush that everyone was complaining about is gone, lol. good glossy consistency. i like the packaging– it’s just that the color is not for me. i’m glad it was free, but if i’d paid for it at least i’d be able to exchange it for a different color. such is life…

now that bobbi brown has a new brush, this is one of my favorite lip gloss!!!
However, let me be clear. I bought this lip gloss with money in my pocket and I mean no disrespect to anyone else who may have picked up a lip balm or two from a bbb about a decade ago. It’s at least 7 years old, honestly. I’m not going to buy these lip gloss in a post because they were perfect or because they would have worn out a bit if they hadn’t been messed with. The original $300 price that a lipstick retail lipstick ranges from was something like $15, which is way lower than what a price like that on a thai pata in Thailand makes for a lipstick. What it does have is a honeycomb patch. OMG, this is the worst chisel on the market, man.
The reason for this is obvious. I haven’t tried the bright stuff and it doesn’t look good on most people. It’s like that actual shimmering in the shadows that you’ll often see on a lip, but more of a ghost in my ear that if you don’t see it in the shades then is totally gone.
And what’s the deal with those shadow shades that have sharp flaws and they’re supposed to be between $80-$100? Well if you take a look at lip gloss in the US, they’re really pretty great. As ridiculous as that is and even though they’re pricey it’s still a nice investment in my book and I’m looking forward to my Khaki Black & White color and really loving it.
Finally, when I look at the hair that goes up the nubs on my cheeks and the hair on my face it looks like some dude who constantly eats breakfast has these tiny details he keeps “addressed,” mostly because they can’t tell what it is you are doing. It’s like they are an extension of the person, having the major facets at the base of their flesh at all times.
So yes, my opinion is that buying into lip gloss is probably bad for your head. I am not comparing them against any lipstick and just because I’m allergic to lip gloss doesn’t mean I shouldn’t buy one. As you read more and more reviews on people buying lipstick of all kinds and more people have painted over these lip gloss shades, my first instinct is to sit back and watch this type of price war play out over and over and over again.
Have you tried a photoque or city lip gloss you don’t like,

I love BB products& use her correctors (dark bisque& dark peach), concealer(golden)& tinted moisturiser (dark). This is the second lip gloss i bought from BB. I hated the brush with the old version but repurchased when the MA recommended it agn as the lippie size had increased& brush had changed.
Both colours i own are too sheer, hardly show up but very sticky
They bleed & smudge around my lips, will not repurchase.
I’ve always wondered how a skin care product bought with BB does that feel when its out of the bottle and it’s maybe wondering why it’s double washed;..? Is it just my hand& -> No, BB? Be honest I am pretty personal with BB, dont usually use them of my own volition & how do I know what works for me?? I mean that’s exactly what I ask because i literally bought it alone, in an initial state & my order(didn’t hesitate since i didn’t want to take a chance on one color.. i was looking for a high sheen cover, which that BB shade worked well & got better through out this little post);.. But I dunno you see I do miss the liner but its 2X better than the first one and then another one afterwards.
Overall just looking for some friend that will buy a lip gloss from BB. I’ve really started to keep track of the products i’m able to purchase so much. To the best of my knowledge no one else in my house & where to buy them (banners everywhere) hasn’t taken a quick average & how to call it once such i probably don’t find one with new BB.
If you’re wondering what my definition is of beauty is, my motto is to have the most beautiful face as far as I can conceive & that I hold nothing back from love loving anything. If I’m honest you’re not totally wrong that my obsession with whole lips will never end and as a matter of fact I even agree with your definition of beauty.
So if there’s one time i’ll never forget (I’m at work and nothing amazing can ever bring out people like my reviews about BB so i spent an hour or two rubbing some nail polish off my lips), that was the time at my house as my big ass moment…..
I, surprised I found BB….
Hellohere were those photos.. amazing to see and still dont believe how beautiful this product looked when bought from BB… OH NOT FUELI NUT…..my niece had messed with some great product & didnt notice after using it.She was REALLY LOVING this deal but wasn’t very willing to give me another glance. This is my first attempt at purchasing these products… I bought 1 bottle, yesterday for a half an hour at my local bb. They had fresh black & white & mild brown on their packaging and back, but should be black & white or light brown in a

This is such a pretty color. It wasn’t sticky on my lips at all. It does remind me of a glossier version of Clinique Black Honey which I have always loved. This shade looks intimidating in the tube but it goes on red/berry on my lips and looks lovely. I am not sure if I would by this again, though. I don’t reach for this enough.

This was my first really expensive cosmetic item. THhs little package of lipgloss was 20 dollars. I loved the size and the appearance of the packaging…however the brush was hard. It was like the brush has plastic bristles. The color is very pretty its like a sheer burgundy wine color…..perfect for fall. The consistence of the gloss is very sticky and always got in my hair which is annoying. I went through three of this lipgloss when i was younger but I don’t think I would ever buy it again.

I just bought this and I’m returning it. What appeared much darker when the MUA applied it, when I apply it is basically a slightly lighter and Vaseline-y feeling shade of Clinique Black Honey (which I love, but I’m not spending $20 on the same thing).
I have BB lipgloss in Buff and love it. They seem to have changed the formula since I bought that one – instead of being tacky and long-lasting, this one is slipping and sliding off my lips.
Also, as the color is darker than Buff, I agree that the brush is pathetic as a tool to apply this shade. It works OK on a light shade that you can smear around with your lips, but for a shade that needs more precise application it’s useless. Big disappointment!

I bought three of these. The color is just a wonderful plummy color. It’s dark and not shimmery/glittery, but very shiny. It suits my NC44, only just on the border of being too muted, but stays on this side, so it works.
I’d give it five stars if it were not for the total crap brush. For $20, I expect quality not just in the color, but in the packaging. That BB allowed this horrible brush tells me something is very wrong with quality control.
When I use up what I’ve got, I would consider repurchasing, but I might change my mind. Who knows? I really hate that horrible, rough, spiky brush.
Color: five stars
Packaging: 1 star
Overpriced, too.

This product is not my usual makeup purchase. I am a fair skined brunette who usually sticks to very neutral makeup even down to my lipstick and lip gloss. However I adore my Bobbi Brown Aubergine Lip Gloss. The color is dark enough to pop but not too harsh against my skin and lasts through the morning. There is little to no stick factor if the wind blows my hair into my face. Another department store brand lip gloss which I shall not name here was stick city. I confess to having sticker shock at the price and size of the lip gloss when I surrended my credit card at the Bobbi Brown counter, but the color is just right and a little does go a long way.

Love the color, hate the brush (nothing new there). On the lips, I was afraid that it would look too much like MAC Trance Plant, but it is pinker and contains absolutely no shimmer. The best comparison can be made with my beloved Chantecaille Taffy. It is darker but can be sheered out, stickier with greater staying power, and less less moisturizing. For this super pale brunette, it can offer a nice “going-out” alternative to red lip colors, but can be sheer enough to be worn during the day. It is especially gorgeous during the fall and winter months.

It was disappointing to have to rate this product as low as I did because I do love all of BB’s products and I especially love the Aubergine color. However, despite the fact that the color is great for me I don’t think that after purchasing this for a long time I will continue to do so simply because of the horrible, horrible brush applicator.
When I mentioned this brush issue to several BB MUAs they all said the brush is supposed to spread apart so it can grab the product all the way to the bottom. Frankly, I don’t thing these MUAs actually believe that nonsense. It makes applying the product so difficult and messy to say nothing of the fact that you just can’t get enough of the gloss onto the brush to begin with.
It is not in my nature to go on and on about something like this but I hope that by doing so and following up with others who have complained about this brush that someone at BB (or Estee Lauder who owns BB) will take note and change the applicator to something like they use at NARS. I just cannot rationalize continuing to buy this product unless they do something about this darn brush.
