I purchased an 8 pack bundle of LORAC Alter Ego Lip Glosses at Kohl’s (called the “Gorgeous Gloss Collection”) for a heavily discounted sum of $12.50 for the entire bundle – yep, I spent $12.50 total for 8 glosses. The shades included Beauty Queen (mauve-pink), CEO (dusty-rose), Duchess (rosy nude), Seductress (rosy pink), Icon (candy apple red), Coquette (hot pink), Dominatrix (deep plum), and Muse (fuchsia).
Pros: Buttery smooth feel, shiny finish, opaque, doe foot applicator, shade names are listed on the bottle
Cons: Slippery formula that doesn’t stay in place with normal lip movements, streaky application and streaky finish because of the slip – especially in the bright and dark shades (Seductress, Icon, Coquette, Dominatrix, and Muse) which is a shame because that’s 5 of the 8 glosses in this bundle. The streakiness makes this formula high maintenance as it requires constant touch ups with a mirror.
The light shades are really where this formula shines and where I would put my money if I were to buy this product again, as somehow the light shades are not streaky like the dark/bright ones are. But, I would not repurchase this product. The formula is inconsistent and there are much sturdier and reliable brands (e.g. Nars). I am thankful that I did not purchase these for the full amount of $17 a piece.
