Can’t believe I’m the first to review this. I’ve used the smoky topaz twice now and it’s a perfect toner for light brown/dark blonde hair or hair with balayage highlights. I’ve been slowly transitioning to a demo permanent hair color ( natural instincts) over the past few years and slowly going lighter from a level 5 brown to a level 7 dark blonde. I am now trying to transition to my natural gray/silver and my last color has started to get brassy and my silver was popping through at the roots. This simple to use toner really neutralized the brassy yellow/orange tones and blended the grays without actually covering them. My hair was soft and shiny and on trend with cool light brown highlights. As my Demi permanent color washes out ( no “ skunk line” like a permanent dye) I will continue to use this to get through that ugly transition stage. Keep in mind this does NOT cover grays, just washes them with a neutral rinse and softens the transition between colored and natural hair. The negative is that it washes out more quickly and at 14 bucks it’s more expensive than my old natural instincts color. But I see so many women with orangey hair, and this is the fix!
