LOVE. Soothes the scalp big time! Makes hair shiny. I just love it so much!!!!

It was an expensive blind buy. I had permed hair then and it was fried . This really helped so much and I did not even use it the proper way . I put some before shampoo and after to maintain curls. I tried to make my own playing around with the essential oils but it was never the same . It’s so good

Kiehls magic elixir is a wonderful product .The essential oil rosemary gives my scalp a exhilarating tingle..Also rosemary induces faster hair growth. However you can make a similar version at home for a lot cheaper . Go to your local Whole Foods or Vitamin Shop buy Almond oil or Advado oil add rosemary essential oil. Add 10 drops of oil per 4 oz for a lighter scent add 5 drops of oil per 4 oz.
I like the product and use it daily on my extreamly dry hair, its just to pricey for me to buy often.

I used this when I had normal untreated hair and after a perm . When I had normal untreated hair I used this before and after shampoo and this helped to make my dry hair slightly better , just a wee bit better . I think the hair mask is more worthwhile and effective. After that I went to perm my hair, and this was the only product that made my curls beautiful. I used this on wet hair to hold the curls and I had nice curls that did not look overly oily. Made my hair soft and nice . I replicated the formular using carrier oils and essential oils but it was never the same . I would recommend this for curling the hair but not on normal hair.

I must say I really dislike my hair, it’s thick at some places and really thin in others with all kinds of textures at the same time (not easy to do anything with it), and even if I don’t really have split ends (I gave up using heat tools, they did nothing for me) it feels rough and looks frizzy all the time… Well, it used to feel that way.
I bought Kiehl’s Magic Elixir almost two months ago, and I’ve been using it once or twice a week for at least 20 minutes with a shower cap on before washing my hair (I wash my hair three to four times a week), and it is GOOD. Since the first use my hair felt so soft and with continued use my hair started looking more healthy and shiny and its texture really improved. The packaging is practical, the smell is so good, if you like rosemary, and it feels amazing when you massage your scalp, especially if someone else does it for you.
Like I said, I’ve been using it for two months (sharing with my boyfriend, by the way) and I hardly have reduced the volume in it, because it is supposed to go only on your scalp!
I do think it is a little expensive but it seems that it will last me for at least six or seven months and I really haven’t used anything else on my hair, except for shampoo and conditioner, so I’m kind of saving some money on that.
In conclusion, I would recommend it and I will buy it again.

This is my favourite pre-shampoo treatment ever! I love it!!! My scalp was very dry and sensitive so I was looking for a product that would relief the symptom. I don’t usually use Kiehl’s products because they usually contain a lot of chemical compounds that I try to avoid (parabens, SLS etc.) but the Elixir’s ingredients looked fine so I decided to give it a go.
And boy, how glad I am that I did! Not only that it really rehydrated my scalp (bye bye itchyness) but my hair as well!!! As a result my hair is now shiny, soft and tangled free. People around me even told me my hair looks pretty yayyyy (^3^)/

This year I decided that I wanted to pay more attention to the health of my hair and especially my scalp. I wanted to try the one by Phyto but it is much more expensive and since I’ve had great experiences with Kiehl’s products in the past I decided to give this one a shot. My main concerns were hair loss, weakness and also just trying to normalize the skin on my scalp (production of oil, bumps/pimples and flakes). I’ve been using it for months now and while the effects were not immediate I think it has helped in the overall health of my hair.
I enjoy massaging the product into my scalp. It feels nice and I like the smell too (herbal). The simple plastic bottle is utilitarian and has the twist cap like a liquid glue bottle. You need to be careful not to twist it open too much or it’ll apply too much. I apply it directly to my scalp and then rub in. I leave it in for at least 10 minutes and I’ve left it on for hours at a time. When you go to shampoo the oil gets onto the length of your hair so it also gets a nice treatment as well. It’ll be soft and silky afterwards. I always make sure to really give my scalp a good clean to rinse to get the oil out. When I first started using it I noticed I was getting some bumps on my skin. The oil was drawing out the clogged pores on my scalp. Now I barely get any. I used to get greasy hair by day two (I have straight natural Asian hair so thus is quite normal). Now I can go about 3 days without washing my hair. I can’t say its entirely because of this product though, I have changed my shampoo and am not using silicones. I still lose hair but probably not as much as before and I haven’t noticed any flakes in a while. My hair does seem to look stronger and healthier than before. My hair naturally grows quite quickly but I have to admit its grown very quickly this year. Even my friend noticed and this was after I had just gotten a haircut.
Compared to other scalp treatments, this is not that expensive. A bottle will probably last you one to two years. The only reason I said I would not repurchase is because I’m interested in trying out other treatments. Otherwise, I’ve had a very pleasant experience with this product!

Great product for reviving my dry, quite fine hair! I really didn´t expect to like it, because in general, hair oils are not for me, they seem to make my hair even drier, and counterintuitive as it may seem, very prone to static, no matter if I use them on dry or damp hair. But this is different. It´s a pre-shampoo treatment, which also revives and nourishes the scalp. So I applied it, putting some on the lenghts of my dry hair, and focusing on massaging my scalp with it. I left it on for about 15Minutes and then went on with my usual routine of shampoo and conditioner, curious and a bit sceptical about the outcome. And I have to admit, I was more than pleased seeing how swishy, bouncy, clean (as in “no more oily” as I was afraid it wouldn´t wash out completely, clinging to my scalp – it didn´t) and especially shiny my hair looked. I even got complimented about the shine the very next day. So it´s only logical that I put this product on my “to buy asap”-list, craving more swish, bounce and shine!

I have mixed feelings about this product:
Pros:
-Smells great
-Easy application
-Hair feels healthier after using it
Cons:
-A bit expensive
-I did not notice a change in the appearance of my hair, only that they were stronger.
It was nice to try but I was a little disappointed because many other reviews are raving about the better appearance of their hair, which did not happen for me. I wouldn’t mind trying it again, just in case..
