Does it take away frizz and static? No.
Does it condition and smoothen scratchy hair? Yes. But it did take me about 4-5 pumps and combing it through with my fingers to achieve this, and I have medium length hair.
Does it smell like wonderful, fresh honeysuckle? Yes, and I’m a sucker for scents.
I think the best things about this oil is that to hard to go overboard and end up with piece-y, greasy looking hair, it’s a great way to add scent to your hair, and the pump is reliable and consistent with how much product dispenses. But I just don’t think it’s $30 good? I get that it’s a luxury hair oil but I’d much prefer leave-in conditioner or other sorts of oils (like plain argan oil).

Definitely go test this at Sephora before spending $30 on this to see how it works on your hair type. My hair is fine, and on the thinner side (2c texture; i/ii thickeness). Not particularly damaged, but I have a few dry spots occasionally. Today I used some products that dried my hair out, so I thought it’d be a good opportunity to go try this.
It was hard to get a small amount out because a dollop came right out, and I knew it would be too much for my hair, so I put this light, liquidy oil/ serum on my arms (smells like gardenia; there’s also a rose scented one), and the rest I lightly smoothed over my hair. Even using the tiniest bit, my hair looks oily and weighed down, and it didn’t really absorb. I can see how someone with thicker, drier, damaged hair might like this, but it was not for my hair type.

This review is for Ouai’s Rose Hair & Body Oil, which I received in a monthly sub. I like that it’s a double-duty oil if need be. I can use the extra on my skin, which is important to hydrate. Using oil on my hair after I shampoo is a regular occurrence for me. Three to four drops works perfectly on wet strands for me to give my hair the shine and protection I need and want. My hair is is fine/color-treated/chin-length. It absorbs naturally without looking greasy, just naturally shiny. I do use the oil from roots to ends. It is rose-scented, but I don’t find the scent lingering. At three drops per application, I find this a bargain oil.

I was disappointed in this product. My hair is thick, and curly-coily (I wear it straight or natural) and usually drinks up oil, even the heaviest types. With this, my hair was limp and the oil just sat on top…not good. I only use it now when my hair is curly and I’m wearing it up, otherwise it just makes my hair look oily and weighed down. The smell isn’t bad at all, a bit like a tropical holiday, but in no way compensates for the lousy performance. It’s not cheap ($35 at Sephora), and not worth the money. I’ll take L’Oreal Mythic Oil over this any day.

This has a very light watery texture. You rly only need a very tiny amount for medium length hair. I mostly pump 2-3 tiny pumps but even that was too much. When you put too much on it makes your hair look damp. When I put just the right amt, it gives my hair a nice shine and sets my hair, making the ends of my curls look hydrated. It doesnt rly tame frizz at my fringe though.another plus point is i love the light jasmine fragrance. The bottle lasted me for almost half a year so that’s good too. Will repurchase again.

This oil is light and absorbs into the skin nicely without leaving a residue and has a subtle rose fragrance.
Better for skin than hair.

I got this as a sample and want to like it because of how lightweight it is and how soft it makes my hair. But, I’m a little concerned about what all the ingredients are in this product considering the first three ingredients in their dry shampoo are butane, propane, and alcohol.
I’m no chemist, but 20+ ingredients for one oil seem like a lot. I’m by no means a “natural” only kind of person, and chemicals are in everything, but I do like to exercise some caution.
If none of that bothers you, this stuff smells great and isn’t greasy at all. A little overpriced in my opinion so I wouldn’t buy because of amount of product/the concerns I mentioned above.

This stuff works extremely well for me. It’s lightweight and soaks right in, but does not leave me with a grease slick. My skin actually has a nice glow to it. Use after exfoliation and it’s just so soft and supple. Does a nice job on my highlighted hair as well. I’m 54 for reference, and it smooths my lines and wrinkles. My skin is also sensitive and itchy, and this is very soothing. Received it as a sample and bought the full size one. Seriously good product and smells like a rose garden.

Right now, I’m just working from a sample of this product but after just 2 uses, I can say I really like it enough to purchase the full size. I am a huge fan of hair oils and leave in products generally to control my coarse, wavy, frizz-prone hair (and all I want is sleek, smoothy, shiny hair!). I count Moroccan Oil, Phyto 9, Ojon oil (discontinued now) and Macadamia Oil among my regular products, along with leave ins from Aveda, Living Proof, AG, Bumble&bumble and Alterna so I’m really hooked on anything that will make my hair silky and soft and smooth and keep it that way. This oil is fabulous. I work it into damp hair before drying and add a few more drops after I flat iron. My hair looks shiny and smooth and feels like silk. This is also a lot easier on the wallet than my Phyto products so in my books it is a total winning product. In fact, I’m off to Sephora tomorrow to pick up the full size.

Firstly, I don’t like the smell at all.. It kind of reminded of a insecticide my mother used to use but that part goes away almost instantly after rubbing into my hair ends. It smells lovely after blow-drying. I’m not too sure if I got a bad one during a sale.. It definitely did not smell like their usual shampoos/conditioners.
Price-wise I would say it’s rather expensive for a hair oil but it does last a long time because a pump or two will suffice if your hair is shoulder length to chest length. Don’t dry doing a half pump because it’s going to be messy.
Personally, I feel that it does a better job when applying to towel-dried hair and blow-drying immediately.. It doesn’t make much of a difference when applied to dry hair. It doesn’t weigh down on my wavy dry hair but it doesn’t seal ALL my frizziness, probably helping it reduce by more than half if you have really frizzy hair. 🙂
