The price for this is outrageous, but I was curious and lured by the packaging and promise. I was very disappointed and feel that the Kerastase mask and even Neutrogena Triple Moisture Deep Recovery Mask are better than this, especially for the price. I have thick, curly hair that I regularly color for what its worth.

This hair mask is the truth. I have very thick, curly hair that tends to be dry. This product moisturizes and detangles my hair like no other. This is the second Oribe product that has left me panic-stricken when I realized I was running out. This time I opened up the squeeze tube, trying desperately to get the last drops out. I even contemplated cutting open the tube, but even I felt like that would lose my self-respect doing that and I couldn’t recycle the container then.

This mask is nothing short of a miracle! I have tried it all (macadamia, it’s a 10, lush, Moroccan Oil, Nexxus) and this Oribe mask is the best by far. My hair is super dry and I usually go 5-6 days in between washes, with this I can go about 4. I wouldn’t suggest this for really greasy hair. A really good alternative that’s cheaper would be the it’s a 10 mask.

Good Lord have mercy…this stuff is OUTRAGEOUSLY FABULOUS. The price is obscene, of course, but probably cheaper than dealing with breaking and damaged hair. My long hair is aging (I’m 47) thickly highlighted and heat styled every day. Yesterday, after using this for a week or so, I found myself obsessively touching my hair on the train…I’m sure people thought I was insane! Anyway, the shine is back, it blow dries like a dream, and I’m totally in love. Now I have to find a rich husband so I can buy the whole line of Gold Lust.

THIS STUFF IS UNBELIEVABLE. If your hair is dry, colored, kinky, frizzy, damaged, heat styled daily, needs a good dose of hydration or you just want a GOOD mask, THIS IS THE ONE to use.
I have tried just about every mask on the market be it drug store, salon, HE department store, indie… whatever. NOTHING left my hair looking, feeling like silk the way this one did/does. You have to try it to understand. But you also see why it’s almost always OOS wherever it’s sold. Same with oil, btw.

Gold Lust Transformative Masque is the deep treatment in Oribe’s Gold Lust line. I have the oil, the shampoo, and this masque. This line is meant for damaged, aging, or processed hair, and contains a ton of beneficial ingredients that are moisturizing as well as repairing. The masque is paraben free, sodium chloride free, sulfate free, and safe for colored (and it has UV protection) and keratin treated hair. The mask is creamy and rich, with a lighter version of the Oribe white floral citrus fragrance. I find that the longer I leave this in, the better it performs (sometimes, I even leave it in as an overnight treatment). Do not leave it in for only a couple minutes- do at least five to ten minutes to see results. Also, I apply it to towel-dried hair. This leaves my damaged, long and colored hair silky and soft, and never weighed down. I rarely, if ever, need to add any other products to my hair when I use this. Sometimes I add a pump of the Gold Lust oil on my ends, but that’s it.
