My salon suggested I try the Kerastase in salon treatment to smooth my short curly hair, that due to increasingly more grey hair was a bit brittle/frizzy/dry. After my cut and blow dry my hair felt and looked lovely but I found out after washing my hair; it was due to my amazing hair stylist, not the treatment. After washing my hair I was back to frizzy and dry. Others whose hair may be longer or have less grey may have a different experience. I have used VO5 Hot Oil therapy that lasts through 6-8 treatments and it seemed to work better for $5.00, though I have not used it for awhile. $50.00 is a lot of money to spend just to have it wash out. I usually color my hair because demi- permanent color tames the frizziness. I wish I had done that as I am now out $50. So for me paying $80 for color that lasts 4-6 months is a much better “treatment” for my hair to get the smooth, glossy look that I was expecting from the Kerastase salon treatment.

Yeah, I don`t know, I`m just not really that impressed by these take home treatment kits. I mean, they`ve been reformulated, so I wonder if this might be the reason why I am no longer as enchanted with them as I was initially. The first time I`ve tried them was two years ago in a salon in Montreal. The hairstylist applied this treatment to my hair and the improvement was significant: smoother ends, more easily manageable hair, more shine. My hair felt stronger, too. I purchased my first kit from that salon, and I was able to get the same results at home, by using it myself. Nowadays, I`ve purchased the newly repackaged(?!), revamped(?!) formula pictured here, with the serum from the large pump which gets dispensed into the smaller vial. You know, I`ll never understand why the company doesn`t give more useful information on their website about this homekits, or why they don`t make an effort to standardize these kits once and for all. Some of the smaller vials that were sold to me with this new packaging don`t even fit the serum pump correctly, so it`s a pain to mix the two. The results with the new kits are also less than spectacular. Could it be that my hair has become sensitized to these treatments? Could it be that the new home kits` formula is inferior to the one I originally tried? I don`t know. In any case, the new home kits were purchased from a professional salon that is affiliated with Kerastase, so I know they are not knock offs or something. The stylists at that salon were also kind of disappointed by the new packaging, which they also confessed to having trouble getting it to work with the small vials. While I love most Kerastase products, I think the company needs to do better by its customers and offer better, more standardized packaging that can be easily accessible, and easily used by customers all over the world. As things stand with these home kits, I feel like the company is just out to make a quick buck, and they don`t really care what they put out there.

Fusio dose treatments are normally done at a salon who carries the kerastase range. They allow you to purchase the kit which you can do at home for yourself. The treatment consist of 4 vials with boosters which target your secondary and primary hair needs. The reason I tried this was because I had really damaged, broken off hair pieces which dropped significantly. Everything I tried did not work or worked but for a short time. I did research and came across this line from kerastase. I knew Kerastase but hadn’t used any of their products before. In May 2012 I permed my hair which I wished I never did. The hairdresser over processed for 30 mins extra than regular time , it fried my hair! This made pieces of hair in between break off so my ends looked very thin. I tried regular drugstore products to treat it , which helped but not drastically. A year later, May 2013 I decided to dye and highlight my hair which was dyed black after I had permed it causing the roots alone to take color obviously, as well as the highlights which were very subtle. I hated this look! So now my hair was wearing off from an over processed perm which was colored at the roots, black at the ends and highlighted randomly!!! I then decided to let my mom bleach my hair at home which it turned to a nice auburn. My hair color was ok now but my hair condition was stressful!! Breaking, dropping and dry. Went to a salon to do the fusio dose treatment which consist of solutions for strength and nutrition. When I had it done with a blow dry my hair was gorgeous!!… I purchased the other 3 treatments online and started to treat my hair at home. It was done every 2 weeks. My hair didn’t drop as much, had minimal breakage, in a few words, it was quenched from within and I Loved it !
