Only left on 10 mins not 60 mins as recommended and my hair turned from dark Brown to Ginger. Panic as colour remover worked but what if I had left it on for recommended time?
Coloured it again with lighter dye and that took in 5 mins so although all is well – be wary of how quickly this colour remover works

Stick to color oops. This stuff didn’t remove anything (permanent color) and yes. I followed the directions.
Color Oops always reliably removes a few levels for me. Not impressed with this at all

I have black hair and have only colored it black twice since I went from platinum blonde to black. I used this last night for an hour. My hair appeared a gingery colour before rinsing it out and then went back to black while I was washing it out. I followed all of the instructions and my hair is black again. NOT only is it black but it is SEVERELY DRIED OUT AND DAMAGED. MY HAIR WAS SO MATTED AFTER USING IT AND DRY AND PIECES WERE BREAKING OFF AND MY HAIR WAS FALLING OUT. I AM SO UPSET I CRIED. I FEEL LIKE I BLEACHED MY HAIR TWICE AFTER USING IT AND MY HAIR WAS HEALTHY BEFORE THIS. I SHOULD HAVE JUST BLEACHED. I HAVE BEEN SLATHERING MY HAIR IN PRODUCTS AND OIL AND I WILL USE OLAPLEX RELIGIOUSLY AFTER THIS. PLEASE DONT BUY THIS AND BUY THE COLOR FIX ONE INSTEAD FROM SALLYS BEAUTY. MY HAIR HAS NEVER FELT THIS HORRIBLE AFTER COLORFIX.

Left hair dye on too long and looked like Morticia Adams.
Nervously tried Colour B4 Extra (my hair has thinned unfortunately). With a reddish undercurrent to my hair, that I don’t like, I was expecting a brassy result and fearful of a disaster. But….
I am so pleased with the result after 60 minutes and following the instructions meticulously. I also added in a good conditioner for a few minutes at the end.
The flat black fake colour was removed evenly. My hair is a natural even colour of dark brown (greys are still covered).
It removed what I wanted and evened out my over processed hair. Maybe just luck but I’m very happy.

I’ve been dying my hair pitch black for ages, so I did not expect that to be removed completely. I was right, it didn’t remove much colour but the overall terrible factor for me was the SMELL. It takes a lot to gross me out, but this was seriously the worst thing that could have ever happened to me. The smell made me sick, I washed my hair approximately 11 times and it still wouldn’t go away. I had to resort to dying my hair again so that the new dye smell would overpower that of the colour remover. Using this product was the worst decision I could have ever made, still feel sick even thinking about that disgusting stench.

Took much of the colour out, and didn’t damage hair much. Be very cautious though, if you are removing a pink or purple or shade with blue in it- this product changed my purple hair into brilliant teal and blue. I needed 3 other treatments to get it out.

This stuff does work- but the smell is absolutely horrendous! I read reviews on this product before purchasing and they all warned about the smell, but nothing could prepare me for how bad it was. It smelt like rotten eggs. It made the whole house smell. And what’s more it lingered on my hair. For about 3 weeks after every time I used heat products on my hair the smell came back.
Also, the product works by you rinsing your hair for a long period of time which I found to be annoying. If you cut the time short it won’t work, as it shrinks the colour molecules and then you rinse them away.
It does work though – I had previously dyed my hair black several times, it got rid of the black and took me to a medium brown. I just don’t think it’s worth all the hassle, I know it’s more damaging but I use bleach instead now to remove colour- it’s quicker, you get a better colour lift and it smells a lot better!

SOME INFO ABOUT ME:
-Brunette, with natural dark brown (almost black) thick hair.
-Been coloring my hair BLUE BLACK for the last 15 years.
-NEVER bleached my hair before, NEVER used any other kind of color remover.
-LOTS of colour build up.
-Hair in amazingly good condition, using vitamins about hair daily and coconut oil a few times per week.
WHAT HAPPENED WHEN I USED IT:
I wanted to get rid of YEARS of blue black on my hair WITHOUT the use of bleach. I have kept my hair in a great condition and never wanted to fry them.
I bought this as soon as i saw it and followed the instructions carefully.
I started applying it on my roots first and then slowly covered all of my hair.
Yes it does have an unpleasant smell, but NOWHERE near as bad as some reviewers suggest. I guess it depends on how your nose reacts to it. I didn’t even need to open a window.
I left it for 60 minutes as the instructions say.
From the first 10 minutes I saw my hair turning red.
When the time passed I rinsed THOROUGHLY AND FOR 10 MINUTES AS INSTRUCTED. Then i used to booster and rinsed well for another good 10 minutes.
THE RESULTS:
-My hair went from BLUE BLACK to REDDISH BROWN. My roots and some 3-4 inches are coppery brown, the rest is dark red/burgundish brown. I started from the roots so it stayed longer there which justifies the SLIGHT difference.
-No stinky smell AT ALL. I guess those who complain that their hair stank for days is EITHER because their hair is TOO POROUS and absorbed the odour, or they just didnt rinse as thoroughly as they should have.
-No damage AT ALL. I see no difference in texture. Not dry, not brittle.
-I can’t believe how well the BLUE BLACK was removed without damaging my hair. My new hair color is NOT that bad, i haven’t colored it since, and I dont think i wll because it looks nice.
FINAL THOUGHTS:
– DON’T blame the product if you have OVERDAMAGED your hair over the years with bleach, heat etc.
-DON’T use it if you have dirty hair with styling product leftovers. You need to have VERY CLEAN, DRY HAIR.
-Follow the instructions CAREFULLY. Folow the steps and you will be fine.
-Rinse, rinse, RINSE. Take your time to rinse thoroughly your hair. Most reviewers don’t understand how crucial the rinsing part is. This is actually when the color comes off so rinse for a good TEN minutes before the booster and another TEN minutes after the booster.
I might use it again to lighten my ends a bit. i totally recommend it.
