I’ve used several tubes of this. Made my hair a little stronger but leaves me with a hay-like straw hair. It’s expensive.

Knowing that I was going to make frequent travel trips that involve a lot of swimming, I knew I need something to treat/protect my hair.
My hair is very dry, which give me awesome wavy hair, but it is so dry and bleached blonde hair with a frizz problem.
I don’t remember the scent, but it is not offensive. When you put it on, it feels like a styling cream and does not leave your pillow case dirty. I found that using it on the second day, I thought my hair became more dry.
Recently, I went to the hair salon and told them that I purchased this product from Sephora. It was suggested that I would be better off buying a drugstore brand hair conditioner and put that in my hair before I go swimming, to help protect my hair from overdrying out, and use a hair mask weekly since I like to swim a lot.
I will finish this bottle, which I thought doesn’t have enough product for a full size bottle, only 100 mL. I want to try Living Proof next time and hopefully I will get it before this summer end and take it with me for my next trip, but now, I got a trim and treatment, so my hair is soft, silky, and healthy looking, but I still need to recover from all the damage I have in my hair from all the bleaching.
I think that if you have very dry hair, this won’t help rescue your hair. I also think that if it doesn’t leave any residue on your pillow, that there is some form of powder in the ingredient, so it can dry out your hair more so when your hair is already dry. Maybe adding some oil to this overnight mask would help, but I purchased this for a reason of convenience for my vacation trips. For that reason, I gave this a low rating and say this is expensive because it didn’t perform well.
As for the packaging, it is good, not messy, but a small size.
This Alterna Caviar Anti-Aging Overight Hair Rescue Repair While You Sleep is free of parabehs, sulfates, phthalates and synthetic color. It promises to be safe for colored treated hair.

Went to Sephora to buy the product. Tried a little put it in my hair. Omg disgusting I smelled like a fish factory! I ran over to phyto and put their overnight cream over it I smelled terrible. Picked of phyto instead.

I got this some time ago in a trial size kit from Sephora and I’m hoping to use it up (I’m on a mission to use up my stash in 2016) because it will be one less hair product in my bathroom which will make me happy.
I won’t be buying the full size because I think the Alterna hair care line is overpriced for what it is. I’ve tried trial sizes of the shampoo and conditioner and I can’t stomach the thought of spending $40 plus CAD for something that’s literally going down the drain, especially when I don’t notice any major difference.
I have used this treatment overnight and my hair felt nice the next day but I don’t like overnight hair masques. I prefer deep conditioners that I can leave in my hair for about 5 minutes or so while I’m in the shower.
Save your money and invest in a less expensive hair masque at the drugstore.

This product is $38 for 3.4 oz. On the plus side, it isn’t sticky or oily, so you don’t have to worry about it ruining your pillowcases. That’s pretty much the only plus I can think of. I used between 5 and 7 pumps before bed, have finished two bottles of it (yes, I know it’s dumb to buy something I don’t like a second time but I didn’t know of anything else like it at the time). I did not see any improvement in the condition of my hair. It also has a weird smell–like someone sprayed perfume near a dirty ashtray.

i does not over charge my hair with silicones, i dont feel my hair youger, since it is anti-aging, wich makes me thing its a splurge :/

I got a sample of this. I was able to get three uses out of this. I did about all of the treatments during a week a few days apart. I personally did not notice much difference with my hair though. I do take really good care of my hair. I have my hair dyed at the salon every five weeks and do heat style so usually have a little damage. I counteract that with using WEN products and with using masks often. So maybe this did not show much of a difference because my hair is not too badly damaged. The feel of this product is nice and not too thick. There was no offensive odor which I was a little worried about. I would not buy this, but might recommend it to someone who has more badly damaged hair then mine.

I am surprised there are no other reviews of this product, however I don’t know when it was “invented,” maybe recently? Anyway, I am aging, dye my hair monthly to take away the greys, and last summer went bright red, then back to dark brown (with bleach), so my naturally wavy, poofy hair was badly damaged as a result. I have been using Coconut Oil on my hair overnight, Camelia Oil, and Jojoba Oil, I have bought and used Wen, and other expensive non-sulfate shampoos and deep conditioning treatments, however, I saw this at Sephora and decided to give this a try, as nothing really worked. WELL, I was shocked and thrilled at the results. I thought, “hmmm how could a silicone and protein treatment really do any good?” but I was astonished at the results. My hair is bouncy, wavy and NOT frizzy in the least. I tell you, my hair is ALWAYS pouffy and frizzy and basically I have to do something to it (curlers, hair iron, something) every morning to look decent for work. BUT, this product is my new MIRACLE! I pumped out about 10 – 12 pumps, and rubbed it into my hair. Then it dried kind of lank, and I went to sleep. I washed it in the morning, and used Wen, and nothing else. I didn’t even need to blow it dry. My hair came out BOUNCY, SHINY and young again. If your hair is frizzy and over-processed like mine, please try this little gem, it’s one I will use forever and absolutely adore!!
