WHERE HAS THIS COMPANY BEEN ALL MY LIFE???
I am an enthusiastic fan of what’s now called “fashion color” hair dye. I’m not a natural redhead, but I’ve had dyed red hair for so long I might as well be! And I’ve been just about every shade of red too, from strawberry to burgundy. When the shades of red the company that my stylist used were no longer available, I needed to hurry up and find something else to take its place because it was the only color that didn’t trash my hair. I used Manic Panic when I was somewhat younger and really liked it, but it washed out so fast except for Pillarbox Red, which worked a treat on my bright red hair.
I’m not sure where I heard of this company, perhaps on Facebook? Anyway, I looked up their website and their swatch list was unbelievable! Yes, to get the extreme colors, especially the reds, I’d have to bleach out the red I had in my hair but I was ready to do that, if only to see how their reds worked. My stylist uses a very gentle bleach, so I wasn’t worried about much damage.
Oh my gosh, the shade of red we used, Wrath, was THE BOMB. Not only was it the rich, awesome red I’d been looking for, it also took forever to fade out and when it did, it became a lovely rose-pink, that then faded to almost a wash of dusty pink over my bleached out hair. It looked like I’d done it on purpose! It also didn’t wreck my hair, which was a huge plus for me.
I’ve tried the reds line and the darkest pink shade, and am now working my way thru the purple/violets line and I can’t recommend this stuff enough! Even if you’re not into wild colors and/or bleaching your hair out, it works quite well on its own, but I’d still do a test strand just in case.
You can get this now at Sally Beauty, I believe, but I buy mine either off the website or thru a seller on Ebay that’s reputable and reasonably priced. Oh, and did I mention? It smells like tropical fruit bubble gum!! That’s a big plus for me 🙂
