I got great color in 3 minutes from this! I used it to refresh my severely faded red dye job and it turned it a shockingly bright red. I would definitely buy this again. I posted before and after photos.

I don’t understand how this got such good reviews. I used fire red. It didn’t turn out even. The color turned out very streaky. There’s places in my hair where the color didn’t take at all, and then there’s bright red streaks here and there. Never using this again.

I really liked this! I have dyed cherry red hair right now that needs some help between colors. I found this easy to apply and only takes 3 minutes which is great. This also doesn’t bleed out overly bad the first wash. I did notice my hair took more to the burgundy (I mixed burgundy and fire red). But I think next time I will add some chestnut to deepen it up a bit. Definitely cheaper than coloring every 7 weeks on the dot.

This has a thick texture and is a bit hard to spread evenly on my hair. Wear gloves or make sure to rinse your hands quickly after using too. I bought two packets in the shade “Deep Chestnut” and it did a very good job of toning down the brassiness in my hair. It does deposit color quicky so if you are worried about that, do a patch test for the shade you want. It has a floral with a chemical undertone scent and it isn’t that conditioning in my opinion. Luckily my hair doesn’t air-dry too staticky or frizzy. The color I get is not flat or dull looking. The packets come with a spout that can be closed with an attached cap. It helps seal the product if you don’t use the whole packet. I find this very helpful since I can leave it in my shower without worrying about water getting in it. I got the packets on sale for $2.49 each. It does manage to stay in my hair after one or two shampoos depending on how long I leave it in my hair. Not a bad product at all. Cheaper than my fave Aveda color conditioners when I need a touch up, although Aveda conditioners give my hair better softness and shine than the Roux Color Refresh masks. Make sure to do a skin allergy test with this too.

I used this in the Pearly Beige Blonde shade, and it turned out gorgeous! I was once again in love with my hair color for a few days thereafter, and it looked very fall/autumn like against my pale skin. This is not a dark shade, as I left it on for about 30 minutes with a plastic cap. When I rinsed, yes, my hair was darker, but not “OMG, it’s way too dark” sort of thing. It has since faded out from about four or five washings, but there is still just a tad bit of color left that remains from this mask. I’m thankful for that because for one, my blonde was a tad too bright for my liking anyhow, which is why I used this mask in the first place, to tone down the brightness a bit. I fell in love with the shade, but probably best results are achieved if you use this on blonde hair that is already more neutral or cool toned. I’m not sure how it would turn out on blonde hair that is more warm toned. Yes, I recommend this product. And no, it did not make my hair feel dry. The product is actually very conditioning.

This is for the ‘red fire’ color. I have copper-ish but still dark unnatural red from the l’oreal hicolor reds, and I wanted it to look a little brighter. I saw a YouTube on this in red who put it on dry hair and left on forever. Well that’s what I did and WOW it’s freaking amazing!!! It looks almost like I did manic panic vampire red or something. I haven’t washed yet so I can’t attest to the ‘lasts 3 washes’ claim but for a color revver-upper that’s actually good for the hair it can’t be beat. I regularly use Ted Gibson ‘captivating copper’ and Aveda ‘madder root’ conditioners; this is like fake movie blood like the madder root but seems more substantial. I’ve also used this as a blonde in ‘platinum’ and it toned very nicely and can even leave a violet tint to the hair. For the record I have a pixie but a lot of hair and on dry hair I actually used the whole package… If doing wet like package says I’m sure I’d be able to get away w 1/2 or even 1/3 I just really wanted total saturation.

Maybe I had too high of hopes but I am a little disappointed, although I will probably repurchase for occasional use. I used shade # 812 Lt. Pearly Beige. My hope was this might be more like the late, much-lamented Clairol Born Blonde Non-Peroxide Toner.
PROS:
Deposits a lot of color very fast and says it contains no ammonia or peroxide.
Fragrance is pretty good but strong; kind of an odd floral.
Color stayed in very well after first shampoo with L’Oreal’s Color Vive Shampoo (Roux claims lasts 2-3 shampoos).
CONS:
Feels as if it would be conditioning but is not. Actually, seemed a bit drying but I did have shine when my hair dried.
The shade Lt. Pearly Beige #812 was a little too ashy for my med. beige bleach job but acceptable. Perhaps, this color formula had a touch too much green. (No, hair is not green.)
Expensive for the small amount of product and temporary properties. $4.99 and really had to work to spread through my not-especially-thick shoulder length hair. This would be an acceptable price for two treatments but it will only accommodate one.
Packaging is not the best. It is a foil packet with a small, round, plastic spout. Again, I had to really struggle to get all the product out.
Worth a try and others might like it more than I did. EDIT: I took off a lippie because Ion’s Color Brilliance Temporary Masque is so superior to this. I use the Beige Blonde shade. FYI: The Neutral shade is actually rather gold.
