I used this product in Intense Cocoa today and the result is beautiful!! The coverage is fantastic. I am about 50% gray, naturally dark, coarse, curly hair. I bought this on a whim, and I am thrilled that I did. I went online to see what others were saying and was very surprised at some of the reviews. But when I looked a little deeper, I saw a bunch of negative comments coming from professional hairstylists. Apparently Swarzkopf is an elite salon brand and they were not at all happy about this product being made to the public. I respect and admire the professionals’ ability and I know they have specialized training, but the lifestyle that allows frequent visits to the salon is not one I live. Unfortunately it is out of my financial reach, and I am happy that such a high quality haircolor is available for me that fits my budget!
I am very pleased with the results and I will repurchase. One tip though- be sure to lay down some vaseline around the hairline and invest in some better gloves at Sally’s. This dye has a TON of pigment and will stain!!

I do NOT know why there is so many bad reviews, I have purchased 2 different colors for my 17 yoa daughter and myself. My daughter chose the Sapphire Black and while I was hesitant, the end result AMAZING!!! I chose Intense Cocoa and the end result was a little darker that I imagined however, I love it. There was no hair loss from either of us, the fading that normally happens after 1 week did not happen, in fact for my hair the only reason that I am having to do my roots is b/c you can see my gray hair and it has been 6 weeks since first application. My daughters hair grows fast so we have to do her roots about every 4 weeks. The price was right and far exceeded my expectations. I will continue to buy this product for both my daughter and I.

Please beware of this brand of hair dye. Three weeks ago I colored my hair with the brunette to cover the gray and my hair fell out. I normally don’t write anything about products but this I feel I had to. Please don’t use it.

My natural color is dark blondish red below shoulder length and layered. I tried the light pearl blonde, only one box was more than enough. I don’t know why people are getting such bad results. The box says that it improves the condition of your hair and I totally agree. It looks so much healthier, even now 2 weeks out and the color is so beautiful.. Came out just like the picture. It does have a strong smell, but so what? It’s only on your head for 25 minutes. Also, the price is very reasonable. I only home color and have tried almost every other brand out there. In my opinion, this is the best. I’m going to buy 5 boxes from online Walmart just in case they discontinue which I hope they don’t!

I used the shade 821 Strawberry Blonde, which looked like the light natural gingery color I was after. My starting shade was a light/medium golden blonde so I didn’t think I would have any problems. I mixed the dye and applied to a test strand – the color turned a light neutral brown. WTF? Glad I did a test strand before applying this all over my hair, not what I wanted at all and I have no idea what went wrong. The dye was pretty cheap, but it was still a complete waste of money. Would not recommend.

I have tired a lot of hair colours and now I use the Schwarzkopf Hypnotic Red and I just love it. I continually get complements on my hair colour as it stays so bright from colour to colour. It only has one flaw as the colour shows up on my pillow and the colour comes out on the first few washes. Otherwise it is fantastic and I wouldn’t use anything else.

My natural hair colour is a medium brown, although I dye it pretty regularly so it’s always either a shade of red or chocolate brown. Whatever colour it is though, the Red Passion colour dyes it all evenly and makes it a lovely colour all over, very similar to the one shown on the front of the box. I love this hair dye above all others I’ve tried, because it doesn’t smell overwhelmingly like chemicals, it dyes evenly, and you get a goodly amount of product in the box 🙂

This hair dye was the first one I have ever used and refuse to try anything else, the dark red diamond is a really gorgeous colour and stays for quite a while since I’ve been away for a while and haven’t dyed my hair in about 10 weeks people just ask if the dark brown/red is my natural colour. Sure the product fades but the ones that I’ve tried have all done so nicely.

I LOVE this hairdye. It’s amazing. If you have black asian hair like me, this is good. My hair isn’t bleached but I’ve coloured it quite a few times so it might be lighter brown-ish black
I got this in a violet colour and it came out great. I know most asian likes that bleach kinda brown-hair look. That’s exactly what my hair looks like after the colour fades but giving it a faint look.
I’m also using Matrix Colour Shampoo & Conditioner to keep the colour nice and fresh, hopefully the colour will last more longer and than usual. I’m always out in the sun and about and the colour does fade after couple of months. I will update this in a couple of months time for process.
As for price I got this on sale for $13 NZD, so that’s all goods 🙂
When I was apply this, the smell was really really strong. This labelled no ammonia but there’s definitely a strong scent to it. I’m gonna give it a 4 outta 5 because of the strong smell.
Overall, I like this and would definitely buy this product again.

I have always been a fan of purple toned hair, so I thought I would try out this permanent shade from Schwarzkopf. In Australia this box cost me around $15 (because my hair is long and thick, I bought two boxes just in case, but one was enough).
The product itself is not a crème, which can make application a little tricky, but if you apply to the roots first with a hair-dying brush and then massage the rest onto the strands you should be ok. Beware- the smell is STRONG so make sure wherever you’re applying this colour is well ventilated and your cover up bench tops and yourself because it does stain.
I found that because my hair is dark (almost black), the intense violet colour shown on the box wasn’t as strong, but the purple is still there in sunlight and hair is left soft and luminous. For what it’s worth, the colour is nice, but I would have expected a little more from Schwarzkopf.
