Decidedly nothing like a Tibetan mountain temple – nothing Eastern/exotic about this, imho. What it is instead is yummy and spicy! It makes me think of fall/winter desserts, very cozy scent. Possibly chai – but that’s really as exotic as it gets. Online I have seen some say it smells like incense, I definitely disagree with that. It’s a food smell – actually, leaning even more toward a spice cabinet smell. It’s staying power isn’t too bad, compared to other Pacifica solids. Fragrance isn’t faint at all.
Update: it’s official – this should be called Kitchen Spice Cabinet! It’s too sharp on it’s own, and really, too much like a spice cabinet (removing one lippie for that), but when I mix it with Indian Coconut solid (which alone is just so-so for me), this blend is very addictive!

Usual spiel: I don’t believe that I should review this product based on fragrance- I think scent is a personal preference and wouldn’t recommend/not recommend a product due to scent.
The initial scent is very spicy, warm, gingery- a great scent, really, that makes me feel like I’m around a campfire in a warm scarf and just really enjoying life, haha. It dries down to a close-to-the-skin, earthy scent. For my best friend, it was love-at-first-smell. She went out and bought it immediately after I showed it to her. c: It’s in my top favorites for Pacifica and I’ve bought the spray as well. I’d recommend! Good staying power.

I pretty much only buy Pacifica scents since I’ve never had any sensitivities to them. Over the years I’ve gotten into making my own products and these little solids have come in VERY handy. I just melt about 1/4 of the solid in with my oils (for a body lotion) or with my coconut milk (for conditioner) and the mix smells like whatever scent I used without the sometimes alcohol-smell of the sprays. I use a different scent for each month in my conditioner and body lotion, and Tibetan Mountain Temple is my December scent. It’s so warm and spicy, it’s perfect for the holiday season. It’s also my husband’s favorite scent since he’s a big fan of ginger. It doesn’t fade that quickly on me, which I know is a big complaint against Pacifica perfumes. I’ve noticed that the spicier fragrances seem to have a bit more staying power. I’ve been a big fan of this scent for about 3 years now and with how much I love it so far, I can see it still being a favorite in the years to come.

Mmmmm…. Love it!! I love all of the Pacifica products I’ve tried (and I own over 20 pieces) but I particularly love this scent! It’s so different than anything else I’ve ever smelled! It sort of reminds me of chai tea and incense together — spicy and smokey. The solid form really lasts a long time on, and actually ‘throws’ it’s scent more than other of their scents seem to. It’s about the size of a silver dollar in a beautiful little blue tin. I was able to get this scent, along with 8 wonderful others, in their Autumn Gold Box collection from Drugstore.com on sale for $45.50! Out of the 9 scents in the collection, though, this is my favorite. I’d say this is more of a cool-weather scent and can’t wait for the fall to wear it regularly! Great product, great scent, great company!

It’s funny — I’ve spent thousands of dollars on niche perfumes over the last decade, and this $8.99 solid fragrance that I buy at my local grocery store is one of my favorite discoveries. I love ginger and orange together, and the vetiver and patchouli give the fragrance some warmth and depth without veering into Deadhead territory. It stays very close to the skin. You’re never going to offend anyone around you wearing it. The ingredients list is so tame and natural that I don’t mind letting my toddler dip her fingers into the tub and spread a little on her wrist just like I do. I wish it had a little more lasting power and came in a retractable tube instead of a tub, but those are very minor complaints about a great inexpensive product. I’ll buy this one again and again.

I purchased the Tibetan Mountain Temple solid perfume off of Ebay unsniffed, and I was really excited by the description “Vetiver, with a smokey, resinous scent, is reminiscent of the fragrant smoke of incense burnt throughout the temples and sacred spaces in Asia. Patchouli is subtle, but deep. Ginger and orange zest lighten the burning intensity of the blend.” This scent smells like a light, vaguely sweet incense. I liked this scent, but something about it reminded me of the smell of bread dough. I went a little overboard with excitement and purchased five different fragrances in the solid form from Pacifica: French Lilac, Madagascar Spice, Hawaiian Ruby Guava, Tibetan Mountain Temple, and Tuscan Blood Orange. Although the Tibetan Mountain Temple scent was nice, I ended up giving it away to a very delighted friend. I think the Tuscan Blood Orange and the Madagascar Spice are the solid perfumes that best compliment my taste. These tins are awesome and can be easily slipped into a purse. It’s been really hot here, but they don’t seem to melt. Overall, I really like Pacifica’s fragrance line! These scents are all very feminine and fun, and relatively inexpensive.

The fragrance of Tibetian Mountain Temple is fantastic in the spray perfume. The solid formula is pretty comparable. Solid perfumes always stay close to the skin and don’t have too much sillage. I like a good amount of sillage. But solid perfumes are probably more preferrable by people in the medical professions; that can’t wear anything too heavy or lingering. I would rather have my solid as a stick… (like a chapstick container) as it would make applying easy and storage perfect. More hygienic as well — no dipping in fingers or getting under the fingernails. But as far as fragrance this is my favorite Pacifica and it’s really gorgeous.
