A sexy, unisex fragrance described well by the reviewer right below my review here. I love it – much more than the uber-popular celebrated “Shantal” by Le Labo. I believe this is their 2nd highest selling fragrance. It’s never too much and it’s never too little. I’m so glad that I bought it!!

I have to agree with the reviewer below in that this is not a decidedly feminine or masculine scent. It is androgenous, modern, sophisticated, and lovely for those with discerning tastes. It is warm without being spicy, and woodsy without smelling like a conifer. I don’t know how they do it but it’s brilliant.
My body chemistry tends not to project the lighter notes in anything, and it’s probably for this reason I can’t detect the top notes of citrus, rose, and mint described by others. I’m totally ok with that though because this fragrance is incredibly complex despite this, and it is absolutely an experience, not just a smell.
This is another one of Le Labo’s genius creations and if you have the money to spring for it, you won’t be sorry!

The Noir or Black tea by Le Labo follows on in theme from Santal 33. This was the signature scent created by Le Labo for the Edition Hotels .
Having tested The Noir and I ownSantal – I can say that there is a similarity in the dry down – ,fig and that smokey dark woodsy aroma and the ambroxan .
The Noir begins vibrant with this green fruity fig note . i do not get rose at all ( I have read some people detect a rose in The Noir ) ..then the long long dry down of smokey almost rubbery, murky, musky woods takes over. This is where I also get a vague minty note ( like Santal 33 ) .
It’s a very mysterious kind of smell much like Santal . Again a theme of ambience .. a surround effect . It is not so much a perfume but a distinct aroma.
it is very wearable and I happen to love it very much .
If you are strictly a floral scent person or only love sweet / gourmand type perfumes , I think you may not like The Noir . It has quite an edgy character to it . No sweetness ..mostly smokey woody . Quite androgynous ,arty .
Longevity is almost as good as Santal 33 which will linger for days on everything it touches.
I would LOVE this in candle form as well.

This is my absolute favorite scent ever. I initially smelt it on a client of mine and had to ask where she purchased it from. I went to Le Labo right away and purchased. Every single day that I wore it, my co workers would always ask what I was wearing and comment how amazing it smelt. It is a unisex fragrance apparently, but I don’t mind. It has a very sultry/wood like scent. The price tag is hefty, but in my opinion its worth it. The bottle is cute, kind of minimal but it fits with the overall theme of the brand. The only other fragrance I like as much of this one is Gucci rush. If you’re not into typical floral scents this is definitely for you. Some people mention that it doesn’t last throughout the day but I didn’t have that problem thankfully.

This is a very figgy scent. Smells like fig and a slightly sharp green scent. It is nice but doesn’t have that extra something to make me keep sniffing myself or to make me want to purchase. It did last on my wrist through a bath with body wash, so the staying power is remarkable.
